Mission Statement
What did 2011 mean to us? On the following pages, we highlight our work and the communities, neighborhoods, families, and lives we have touched this year. But what did this year mean to us as an organization? 2011 was a year of reflection. After providing 24 years of service to Central Ohio, we have many successes to celebrate and many lessons learned. Now is the time to look forward and solidify our vision for the future, where we close in on the gap of needed affordable housing and provide more families the tools they need to be successful.
In the belief that a decent and affordable home is the cornerstone of family life and a healthy community, Homeport provides quality affordable homes and services to low and moderate income households in Central Ohio. Through its activities, Homeport is a partner in building vibrant communities and enhancing the lives of its residents.
Our Homeport Programs are an integrated approach to providing homes that low and moderate income individuals and families can afford, as well as social services and education so that people can be successful right where they live.

HOMEPORT RENTAL LIVING Homeport Rental Living provides quality affordable and permanent housing opportunities for low and moderate income families. Our communities include 2,000 various types of apartments and single-family homes around Central Ohio–so families have a choice of locations and school districts. In 2011, we added 23 new rental homes on the south side of Columbus and broke ground on 49 new rental homes, in addition to 66 units for seniors.
WHO ARE OUR RESIDENTS? 5,171 people, including 2,749 children live in our rental communities.
Typical family has between three and four family members, so we specialize in 3-4 bedroom homes.
