Tech-Know Spot debuts during lighting show THE DALLAS MARKET CENTER will offer attendees of the Dallas International Lighting Market the opportunity to learn from technology experts at its new Tech-Know Spot. Located in Loft 3 at the Trade Mart, 3rd floor, on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., TechKnow Spot will include experts from Constant Contact, PointBurst, ReachLocal, Splash Media, XOLights, and digital marketing consultant John Arnold, all of whom will be available for 20-minute, personalized consultations on subjects such as social media management, digital marketing, website optimiza-
tion, in-store tools, and more. Group seminars will also be held. Tech-Know Spot is a more than 2,100-sq.-ft. high-tech lounge area with modern features consisting of several pods with individual workstations for private consultations and group sessions. The group seminar schedule is as follows: “Marketing Locally on the Internet” presented by John Arnold on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Loft 3, TM 3rd floor; “Three Keys of Email Marketing” presented by Constant Contact on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Loft 3, TM
3rd floor; “Monetize Your Facebook Page” presented by John Arnold on Friday at 10 a.m. in Loft 3, TM 3rd floor. Aidan Gray, Classic Concepts open new showrooms AIDAN GRAY AND Classic Concepts are unveiling new showrooms here this week. Aidan Gray, manufacturer of home décor, furniture and lighting, opens its first corporate showroom in World Trade Center 5-523, a more than 3,100-sq.-ft. space. “We feel like we are coming back to our roots, since we launched nine years ago in a temporary booth in Dallas,” said Derrick Ricketts,
national sales manager, Aidan Gray. “Our new flagship corporate showroom will bring together all the best of Aidan Gray in the strongest presentation nationwide, allowing our retailers a better understanding of what the Aidan Gray lifestyle is all about.” Classic Concepts is opening a 9,000-sq.-ft. showroom this week in World Trade Center 5-530. Lighting showrooms look ahead The lighting category overall and the lighting showroom channel in particular have suffered mightily in the wake of the economic downturn and the crash of the housing market. But, surviving showrooms continue to look ahead to a brighter future and are already showing signs of regrowth. Turn to page 36 for more.
