School Vacation Workshops
APRIL 16–19, 2024
HCA has plenty of workshops your kiddos can attend during April School Vacation Week. We have a week-long full day option, morning or afternoon classes only, and even just a single day workshop — all of which you can mix and match. If you would like your child to have a full, four-day experience you can sign them up for the vacation week at a discount.
Teen Wheel Throwing
HCA Ceramics Studio

Beginning and intermediate students will learn basic ceramic techniques. We’ll focus on basic wheel-throwing skills such as wedging clay, centering, forming vessels, and glazing. Intermediate students will focus on making more complex forms. The last day of class students will finish their projects by painting underglazes. Finished pieces will be ready for pick up three weeks after the class completion.

Clay Creations
HCA Ceramics Studio

Join this two-day April vacation workshop where you will use your imagination and get your hands dirty with clay! We’ll make both useful and fun objects as we learn hand-building techniques including slab, coil and pinching. Everyone will get the chance to make and decorate items of your own design that will be fired and ready for pick up three weeks after the class.

Our mornings will be filled with color as we create unique pieces of art that will involve a little bit of everything from painting and drawing to mixed media. In the afternoon we will rotate through activities including acting out stories, singing songs, and dancing. There will be story-time, imaginative play, echo songs, circle games, song tales, and so much more.
