The greatest miracle though, is found in God becoming a baby, then a boy, then a man in the form of Jesus Christ and, in the knowledge that we would need help in our failings and sins, dying for us upon a cross. It’s through that death that we receive not only total forgiveness for everything that’s fallen short in our lives, but also total empowerment through the Holy Spirit to live strong, faith-filled lives that make a huge difference to the world around us.
God can do astounding things, unusual things, incredibly loving things as well as things that maybe don’t mean a lot to other people, but mean a lot to you. 01

To help you BELONG, we’ve created fortnightly Wednesday night Dinner Parties, and our quarterly Welcome Parties as well as our Discover the Vision lunches - straight after our Sunday Services. To help you GROW, we’ve created a monthly Wednesday night Growth Track with so many courses to help grow you into the bigger life God has for you. To help you BUILD, we’ve created a whole lot of opportunities to serve others in one of our many Sunday or midweek Dream Teams. HOPE CITY STUDENTS Being part of the Hope City Students team has really helped me to grow stronger in my faith and deeper in my relationship with God. As a self-confessed home bird, the thought of moving away from familiarity to embark on university life seemed extremely daunting, however by being part of the team, I’ve found myself surrounded by a real community, it’s the best support network!
Julie YOUNG ADULTS I’ve seen people come to Christ and have their lives changed, and I’ve made so many new friends. It has helped me learn to love helping others and grow in confidence in speaking with new people and making them feel at home both with me and at church. WE ARE WOMEN (OVER 40S), SHE IS MUMS, YA SISTERS, SHE IS CONFERENCE We have a fantastic group of women involved in the She Is ministry and I love getting to be a part of that team. Everything from social events and breakfasts with the mums, to themed evenings with ministry and lots of fun together, it is such a joy to serve in this area of church. I love being able to connect with women of all ages, from encouraging other mums, to supporting younger women and serving at church on Sundays.

I love being part of it because you get to see the congregation grow as you stand on the platform and look out. Seeing people impacted when they come forward to respond to what’s been preached is so humbling and keeps me sensitive to the Spirit of God at work in people’s lives. Being part of serving on the team has brought growth not only to my technical skills, but my faith journey as well.

We’ve got four core courses plus a whole lot of short courses for you. Each night is both part of a series, but can also stand alone for those who can’t make it each month. Each night finishes around 8:45pm.

THE BIG FOUR
The Leadership Night School is for people who feel called into leadership, either in church or in the world, and want to learn first-hand Biblical principles that will accelerate you in both your call and leadership effectiveness.
Our monthly Open Heaven Revival Nights are an opportunity for us to come together to grow in prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit as we pray for our community, city and nation. Each night will be around 50 minutes and is the engine-room for the revival of the Church.
Our Recovering You courses are split into two – Recovering You for Men and Recovering You for Women. They are a three-part course designed to create an environment of understanding and true freedom through the wisdom and the power of God.

The Big Bible Study looks at specific books of the Bible, gives an overview and then digs right in to extract nuggets that will help you enormously in your Christian walk.
THE SPECIALS Every month, one or two of these special courses will be happening alongside the Big Four.
The Discovering Partnership course is your opportunity to become a Premier League player in Hope City Church. As a Partner, you get to come up close to the heartbeat of the church, be able to be a part of any one of our Dream Teams, become a key player in the success of the vision and attend quarterly Partner’s nights as well as the annual Partner’s Ball.
Our Core Christianity course is designed to help you get planted and established in your new found Christian faith as we look at subjects such as who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? What is the trinity? What does the Bible say about sexuality? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?
We know that parenting can be both rewarding and challenging. The Power Parenting course is here to support you and help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, and raise them into successful adulthood.
Money Matters is the two-session course designed by experts from CAP Money - helping you undo some knots in your finances and teaching you how to manage your money well. You’ll be so pleased you did this course.
Our Marriage course looks at establishing a biblical framework for you and your partner, looking at issues such as how to overcome personality differences, how to argue well and how to get closer despite your differences! 11

Our Super Stewards are a fortnightly team that create an incredible first impression for our guests. They offer a safe and easy parking experience with a high-energy welcome and clear directions from the moment guests arrive.
The fortnightly Tap Bar team provides food and drinks with an authentic friendly welcome to each guest who heads their way! If you have the gift of hospitality or love to connect with people in a practical way, this is the team for you!
W E L C OME T E AM The aim of the fortnightly Welcome team is to make every person who walks through the doors feel like they are expected! You’ll find smiles all around and a fair bit of banter, while connecting people to the House of God through an authentic greeting.
H OS T I N G T E AM The Host team operate fortnightly and provides a friendly environment for both regulars and guests as they come through the doors of our church. First impressions are always lasting impressions and we want to show guests we value people of all backgrounds, nationalities and ages. 16
FURNA C E TEA M The Furnace coffee bar is where a lot of newbies gravitate towards as it represents a familiar environment - everyone loves a coffee shop! This fortnightly team creates a welcoming atmosphere for guests by serving drinks and connecting with each customer personally.
W ELC OME LOUNGE TEA M Each week the Welcome Lounge is filled with new people and new friends. The fortnightly Welcome Lounge team are there to create great connections by enabling great conversation, serving drinks and snacks and being on hand to help with anything else.

Worship includes our band and vocals team. They are passionate about leading people into the presence of God and expressing the creativity of worship from Heaven. If you love worship and music and want to hone your skills or try something new - this is your team!
The fortnightly Whizz Tots team is creative and fun. They love showing our youngest church members just how much God loves them! From doing memorable craft activities to being a shining example of worship during our Whizz Tots worship time there are so many ways to put your gift to use on this team.
P R OD UCT ION TEAM Our Production teams includes lighting, sound and camera recording. The Production team is one of the main teams that make our services happen whilst working behind the scenes, they are an integral part of all we do on a Sunday.
P HOT OG R AP HY TEA M The photography team is part of the Creative Dream Team and is passionate about expressing creativity through capturing moments every Sunday in church. Through taking pictures, this team has a way of entertaining people by making them laugh and smile in front of the camera. If you’d like to hone your skills in photography or try something new, this is a team for you!

W HIZZ JUNIORS TEAM We believe that there is nothing “junior” about these kids’ walk with God! Serving those aged 3-5, the fortnightly Whizz Juniors team helps set the foundations of our children’s faith, all whilst seeing God work in them through worship, preaching and fun activities.
W HIZZ KIDS TEA M Our fortnightly (or monthly) Whizz Kids team ministers to children aged 5-11, teaching them about their Father God in a fun and engaging way. Whether it’s helping to entertain, being that listening ear or serving on Whizz Kids security team, there are so many ways you can get involved on this team.
S E CUR IT Y T E AM With so many people coming through our doors, it’s so important that we keep each person safe and sound. The fortnightly security team creates a safe environment for guests by protecting people and property, while presenting a friendly front.
P R IS ONS T E AM One of our fastest growing ministries in the church, the Prisons team visits prisons each month - running services for the inmates. This fortnightly (or monthly) team believes that no one is too far from God, and they are dedicated to serving those who need a second chance.
IG NIT E T E AM Ignite is part of our Neon Youth Ministry for all 11-14s. We believe that every young person has been created and called by God to live a life of significance and purpose. If you have a passion for young people - and if you love to have fun - check out this team!

Every year at the end of March, we raise our Dream Offering for the future facilities of Hope City Church. This includes ⊲⊲ A 1000-seater auditorium used for worship services, five-star conferencing and national events. ⊲⊲ A multi-faceted community enterprise that re-invents the Megacentre as Sheffield’s largest community centre. e have freed up one Wednesday each month* to give you a chance to get out and party with your neighbours, friends, work mates, college mates and anyone else who could do with your friendship and you theirs! Jesus said in John 7:38 that “rivers of living water will flow from your inmost being”. He was talking about the Holy Spirit, but because the Holy Spirit is in you, he was also talking about you! He describes you as a river (not a lake or a pond) – and not just a river, but a life-giving river. Rivers are brilliant at not just giving but receiving as well. That’s the true you – someone itching to give out all you’ve received. Make your world feel like a million dollars through your spirit of encouragement and show people what Jesus is really like through your trustworthiness, authenticity, fun and faith! IN THE NAME OF LOVE City Hearts was birthed out of Hope City Church as a ministry of restoration of lives torn apart by the blight of human slavery and life controlling issues.
I
n 2005, City Hearts was founded with a mandate to fully restore those with a history of vulnerability and exploitation. We began with a single home to women with life controlling issues and shortly after welcomed our first survivor of Modern Slavery. Since then it has been a breath-taking leap into the underbelly of British society. The people we support are highly traumatised, some with children whose innocent years have been shattered. To hear their stories is beyond heart-breaking. It compels us to never stop caring and loving, to not shrink back and to develop
what we do even further. Thousands of survivors have been restored through the work of City Hearts, but we are not content to rest in our past while the wounds of the world lie open and bleeding. We are on a mission to expand City Hearts right across the United Kingdom and go beyond to make it a truly international force. Together we can see a new generation of people arise, free from the blight of their past and free to live a life of both peace and wholeness.
