T

he Artisan spirit is upon us. It’s our expression of generosity that comes by mixing the colours of faith, mercy and creativity together, creating a fabric so strong and so beautiful that it outlives generations. The dream offering is dedicated to the future facilities of Hope City Church, both owned and leased. It’s the rope that holds up the curtains of ministry that take place every week and every year right across the church all over the world. It’s highly sacrificial for us but highly beneficial for the world that we seek to influence.

This is your opportunity to sow your own gift into the work of the Kingdom, and in so doing add another thread of heaven into your own hopes and dreams.

“ JESUS’ EARLY FOLLOWERS FORMED A MOVEMENT OF DREAMERS AND VISIONARIES - Erwin Raphael McManus The Artisan Soul II

Dream Offering

O

ur vision is to create a twenty-first century cathedral that will be known across Britain for its care into every strata of society, its reviving Christian influence across the North of England and for its excellent in its partnership with the business and entertainment world.

We have taken our role as artisans of God’s heart seriously and have created a fabric for the future that will not only touch a generation but leave a legacy for generations, born out of the intimate weaving of creativity, mercy and faith. Our vision is both to create a 1200 seater auditorium for the people of South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire as well as create a community centre that will assist people in every stage of life from the cradle to the grave. We’re making plans for everything from parenting classes, ex-offenders work placements and ESOL classes, through to youth clubs, senior line-dancing as well as everything related to an onsite Chapel. It’s both a Cathedral that rises tall and mighty in the North as well as a Cathedral with corridors stretching into the marginalised and invisible in our worlds. It’s called ‘The Waverley Project’ and we want you to fall in love with it.

Dream Offering Our Dream Centre will be financed from 5 sources 1. Dream Investors We are inviting people with businesses, larger asset bases and inheritances to invest significantly to our Waverley Vision and our desire to become nationally known for our influence in the North of England. If you would like to be one of our Dream Investor, simply tick the pledge form and we will directly get back to you. 2. Waverley Partnership In order to be seen as a serious contender for the Waverley site close to the M1, we have already invested heavily in architectural designs, engineering plans, project management proposals and planning applications. Because of this, the Waverley Management Board have come into partnership with us over the shared use of a future carpark that will facilitate all of the future onsite parking needs of the project, saving us around a million pounds. 3. Fundraising We have invested into a professional fundraising service as well as employed a Fundraising Manager to look for both Capital costs and support costs for our seven community Vision Centres within the overall vision. 4. Conferencing and Concerts After creating the facility we will be uniting with titans of business and entertainment to provide five star facilities for their future events. We hope to be known from London up to Newcastle as a place of excellence for both conference as well as concerts.

FAQS

1) If I give, when will the money leave my account?

For one-off gifts on Dream Offering Sunday, it would be advantageous to Hope City Church if all gifts by credit card and cheque are dated on or after the 1st April 2019 - which is our new financial year.

2) What about the gift aid on all the money I give?

If you are a UK Tax payer and you have filled out the Gift Aid section on the regular offering envelopes previously, or on the Dream Offering pledge form, then Hope City Church can claim an extra 25% of your gift as a tax return. A majority of this Gift Aid will go towards the Central administration of Hope City Church.

3) How do I know that my money will be used wisely and used with integrity?

All of the accounts of Hope City Church which includes Megacentre Ltd, City Hearts, and MegaNursery, as well as Hope City Church are annually audited by the accountancy firm – UHY Hacker Young. They meet the strict standards of the Charities XII

Commission and are scrutinised to the highest of standards. Our Finance Department is led by Anna Ibbotson and the team are trained regularly in proper, efficient procedures in all financial matters. Anna comes under the Senior Leadership team of Hope City Church (Dave and Jenny Gilpin, Chris Denham and Simon Taylor), the trustees of the Charity - Paul Benger of Christian Life Church, Chesterfield, Colin Davies, Chris Davies, John Greenow of Xcel Church nr Durham and Dave Gilpin - as well as the general oversight of C3 Europe led by Simon and Valerie McIntyre (C3 Fulham).

4) What if I cannot fulfil my pledge?

Every location has a Dream Offering Manager who is dedicated to helping people navigate the water and deliver on their commitments. If you feel like you cannot fulfil your pledge through ‘out of control’ debt or through over-enthusiasm, we would suggest you extend the time taken to fulfil your pledge by seeing the Dream Offering Manager. We believe that with ‘out of control’ debt, your first priority after tithing is to see a debt counsellor or the like and resolve your difficulties through both

Dream Offering

prayer and sound financial management. Your commitments can then be prioritised to prevent you from re-entering the debt cycle. We will not compel anyone to fulfil their pledge if they decide to end their commitment.

5) What about confidentiality?

All of our records are kept with the strictest of confidence and a code of conduct in our Finance Department. Only those who are set to manage The Dream Offering can access the records.

6) I am new to church. Should I be giving to the Dream Offering?

It’s completely up to you. Some people jump in and enjoy the speed of getting right into the life flow of the church while others are more tentative. It all depends upon your choice and your desires. Please feel no compulsion to give and no guilt at all if you chose not to. We build Hope City Church on vision first, commitment second. Without a word of inspiration, all you get is high perspiration. And we don’t want you sweating. So look to the Holy Spirit and do what you feel right to do.
