Environmental science meets photography in this artwork aiming to capture the mountains of the world with 140 degrees panoramic camera. The sublime land forms appear set in an increasingly fragile environment.
2. Imaginary Wild Land (2014) 9:30 min 22-channel video installation Katrina McPherson & Simon Fildes (Scotland)
Mapping the borderline between wild and protected land in the Coire Ruadh of the Scottish Highlands using the artists’ signature media of choice: body language, contemporary dance and the environment. Featuring dance artists Frank McConnell, Ruth Janssen, Robbie Synge.
3. Earth’s Weeping (2007) 22-channel video installation Fernando Arias (Colombia/UK)
A melancholic account of Earth’s rare geothermal activity featuring some 80 geysers from the Andes mountains in Northern Chile.
4. 360 Degrees (2005) 22-channel video installation Matthew Dalziel & Louise Scullion (Scotland)
A passionate, slow motion ode to the Black Wood of Rannoch at the heart of Highland Perthshire – one of the largest areas of ancient pine forest which once stretched across Britain and Europe. Home to a variety of plants and wildlife which take centrestage in the film.

A creative documentary of the Japanese province of Fukushima shortly after the nuclear, tsunami and earthquake disasters struck the snowy inland mountain and the coastal areas leaving hundreds of displaced yet welcoming refugees. An artwork inspired by the strange and unusual folk seen enjoying the Scottish Highlands. The artist revives the classic animation techniques of the 1950s brought up-to-date with digital motion graphics to achieve vintage aesthetic and humour. A series of before and after panoramas of glaciers and Alpine landscapes in the Mt Everest region of Nepal taken six decades apart highlights the dramatic reduction of Himalayan ice. Evoking the magic of early analogue photography, the artist traverses the Scottish Highlands in search of the best multi-frame panorama views. 9. Cordillera Blanca (2015) 22-channel video installation Alton Byers (USA) featuring Erwin Schneider(Austria) ComingSoon A travel back and forth in time along the ‘white range’ of the Andes capturing the retreat of the glaciers during the last 50 years.

Carved by Light (2015) photographic reliefs installation Agnieszka Kozlowska (UK/Alps) also Collect + Support Using a heretofore unexplored photographic technique, the artist worked across the highest ranges of the Alps carrying heavy large-format camera and light-sensitive materials to produce photographic reliefs for 30 major peaks ascended for the first time in the golden age of alpinism (1854-1865).

Exploring the ‘family’ of wild and precipitous mountains surrounding this most scenic of valleys in the Scottish Highlands, the artist perfects her colourrich pallette on her preferred media of oil on board and charcoal on paper.
With its distinctive peak Cir Mhor is best known as the Scottish Matternhorn and one of the finest mountains on the Isle of Arran. This work also pays an homage to the Japanese landscape artist Hiroshi Toshida.
13. The Wildflowers of Everest (2015) single-channel video installation Elizabeth Byers (USA) Marvel at the unique biodiversity of the Sagarmatha (Mount Everest) National Park, Nepal which is threatened by climate change, tourism and mountaineering. Agonising Glaciers (2014) single-channel video & sound Laurence Piaget (Switzerland) Sound by Olafur Arnolds (Iceland) A wind-swept area hit by a cataclysm with the white torn-out tents of the refugee camp seem to emerge as a gigantic artwork but shrouded in layers of devastation. Part of an ongoing photography project set on the Rhone glacier in Gletsch, the Swiss Canton of Valais.

Four climbers, four boulders, four geologies and four choreographies. Effort, balance and style weave together in a physical exploration of the failure and success of four solo climbers. Each one tackles a challenging route on freestanding boulders across four Highland locations.

History of Art for Airports (1997-2007) Vuk Cosic (Serbia/Croatia) From Cezanne to Warhol, this ‘history of art’ is redrawn according to the iconographic signage style of airports in the ubiquitous media of laser-cut vinyl.
