Donald Runnicles, conductor Denis Kozhukhin, piano Shostakovich's ninth symphony wasn't the victory march the Soviet authorities were expecting, any more than Britten's Sinfonia da Requiem was what its Imperial Japanese commissioners had ordered. Rachmaninov's sweeping third piano concerto takes a pianist of unparalleled talent to make it soar; anyone who heard Denis Kozhukhin play in Perth last season will have no concerns on that count.

Meet Olive Madison. She is a slob, and that’s the way she likes it. Her apartment carries a health warning, she serves snacks from the Jurassic era and even her wedding dress had Coca-Cola stains on it. Punctual, hypochondriac neat-freak Florence Unger, however, leaves no drink uncoastered. She can spot a grease stain at fifty blocks, can’t serve nuts without arranging them in ranks and she wears her seatbelt at drive-in movies. Together, they make a distinctly odd couple... but what Olive and Florence do share is a lousy taste in men. So when Florence breaks up with her husband and has to move into Olive’s confined New York apartment, tempers fray. When they take tentative steps onto the dating scene together, things start to get messy – really messy. Female friendships step into the spotlight as Neil Simon’s smash hit comedy of opposites is up-dated, up-gendered and remains uproariously funny. Where indicated, ticket prices include a minimum booking fee of 50p to cover our processing costs. Fees are waived for tickets under £5 and if tickets are purchased in person by cash at Perth Theatre or Perth Concert Hall box offices. For group bookings (10 or more tickets for one event) the booking fee only applies to the first 10 tickets.

For patrons who are blind or visually impaired, we offer an Audio Description service. Check brochure for performance dates.

We have booster seats for little ones; our restaurants provide high chairs, bottle warming, and are breastfeeding friendly; and there are baby-changing facilities for men and women to use in both the Theatre and Concert Hall.

For Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing patrons For patrons who are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing we provide BSL Interpreted performances and Captioned performances. Guide/hearing dogs welcome in our buildings.

Both venues are designed to be disability friendly with wheelchair spaces, stair lifts, induction loops, infrared enhanced hearing systems and staff who are trained to help.

Signed performances: Our Interpreters will use British Sign Language to interpret all spoken or sung speech during a performance. Please mention at time of booking you wish to use this service and we allocate you appropriate seats to clearly see the Interpreter.

We provide other special services for certain shows. Look for symbols in the brochure, see the website or ask box office for dates: Touch tours: Feel the set and costumes before the performance.
