Christmas for me is all about enjoying delicious food with loved ones. It's a tradition in my family to go all out for Christmas dinner, ensuring we have enough food for seconds (and maybe even thirds). As well as food for the big day, the Boxing day sandwich is definitely a Christmas staple! Personally, I believe the stuffing is what glues the festive feast together for me, whether it's alongside a spoonful of turkey with a big helping of cranberry sauce, or cut up and wedged between to slices the next day! Here's my favourite stuffing recipe to get your teeth stuck in to:

0

To begin soak the cranberries in port for an hour.

f)

Then fry the onion and bacon gently in the butter.

e e

100g dried cranberries

• l40g fresh bread crumbs

SOml port

• 2tbsp chopped parsley

1onion chopped

• Y2 tsp chopped thyme leaves

2 rashers unsmoked back bacon

SOg butter

• l40g peeled, cooked chestnuts roughly chopped

2garlic cloves, chopped

4S0g sausage meat

Make sure to add enough egg to bind the mixture.

.................................................

0 •

o

Once the onion is tender and the bacon is cooked add the garlic and fry for another minute. Put the onion and bacon to one side to cool.

TI P: don't be afraid to get your hands dirty rolling your stuffing baubles.

G

Once you've rolled all of your 24 stuffing baubles, roast them in hot fat for 30-40 minutes until crisp and nicely browned on the outside.

.................................................. Once the cranberries have soaked and the onion and bacon mix has cooled, combine all ofthe ingredients in a bowl.

• 1 medium egg, lightly beaten

fri.ad/xmas

TI P: Make these ahead oftime, freeze them uncooked on a baking tray and defrost and place straight in the oven on Christmas day!

1. DEFINE YOUR GIFT GOALS

3. BUDGET

Set out aclear plan on what you want to achieve. For example: "l want to have finished my shopping by the 5th December and my budget is ÂŁ150" If you keep this in mind whilst you hit the shops you are more likely to stick to your objective and less likely to get distracted.

It's now time to choose how much you wantto spend on each person. Don't forget to include stocking fillers as well! Once you've done this it's time to tally up your total spend, does this match your original budget you decided on in step one? Don't be afraid to spend more time finding the perfect gift to suit the person and your pocket!

2. MAKE ALIST (and check it twice) Sit down and make alist of everyone you will be buying presents for. Start with family and then move onto friends. Think about anyone you might have forgotten in the past (we've all done it!). Most commonly forgotten are Secret Santas and gifts for teachers or co-workers. Once you've made your list, it's time to check it twice! Do you actually need to treat everyone, or would acard show the same sentiment?

4. INSPIRATION Now's the fun part, have athink about what each person might want. Searching online for gift ideas and jotting down any great finds is agreat way to get ahead.

5. PLAN YOUR DELIVERY Do you have any friends that you can't hand deliver to? What are the last

posting days for their gifts? Next, think about your wrapping supplies: Will you be having acolour scheme? Do you have enough supplies? There is nothing worse than wrapping presents on Christmas Eve and running out of sellotape!

6. ACTION It's now time to implement your plan - for each gift decide where and when you will buy it. If you can find it online and save some time, even better. Dedicate one day to get all your shopping done and stick to it. Try and make the most of Black Friday offers and sales where you can.

process, and if it's getting too much, put your feet up and whack on aChristmas film to reignite your Christmas spirit!

7. MOMENTUM

8. DEBRIEF

Bought a present? Wrap it and tag it. Catching up with friends? Ask for gift ideas. Keep checking back to your plan regularly, are you on track? Remember to enjoy yourselfthroughout the

Now that you've followed our guide and had a magical Christmas, keep a mental note of what worked well and what didn't. There's always room to improve next year!

jewellery. crafts • fashion~' Handmade jewellery in precious metals MADE ON THE PREMISES In the historic town of Arundel, there are many little quirky shops, independently owned, one of them is 'dandelion', a small jewellery, craft and fashion shop, it is located in Tarrant street close to Arundel castle and is amongst many individual little shops, resturants and cafe's.

Monica studied at Northbrook college in West Sussex, under tutor, Clara Vichi, comtemporary jewellery designer and maker. Making jewellery became a much loved hobby in her purpose built workshop at home. After working in retail and marketing for over 20 years she decided to turn her hobby into a business. The jewellery is made by traditional methods with tools and equipment used for centuries. Each piece is individually made and designed and most are one off pieces. Inspiration comes mainly from nature, leaves, feathers and animals.

It is owned by Monica Joyce, who specialises in handmade jewellery made in silver, gold and other precious metals.

She has made many individual pieces for her customers, a recent commision was a pair of silver earrings for the dancer and Strictly Come Dancing judge, Darcey Bussell, who may wear the earrings on the show.

Also antique jewellery is upcycled using silver spoons over 100 years old and other interesting items.

As a nation, we've developed a huge appetite for eating out over Christmas. Whether you indulge in the lead up to Christmas or on the big day itself, it's a treat to let someone else take charge. But getting the balance right between home comforts and hassle free can be tricky, how can you ensure that where you pick will do the roast spuds how you like them? Or will the gravy be as good as Granny's recipe? Follow our simple guide to making sure you get the balance right.

Just because you might visit a restaurant regularly throughout the year doesn't mean it won't feel special at Christmas. Trust your own judgement, it's your favourite for a reason! Not only do you know that their regular menu and service is spot on, they'll definitely be pulling out all the stops for Christmas. Keep an eye out during your regular visits for their Christmas Menu to ensure it fits your own (and everyone else's) expectations. Don't forget, if it's a favourite of yours, it's most likely a favourite for many so get in quickly to reserve your spot!

Finding somewhere new can be overwhelming, agood way to filter the choices down is to get recommendations. Either ask your friends for their favourite picks or look for reviews online.

If you can, try to find pictures oftheir Christmas menu from past customers - these can easily be found on their Tripadvisor or Facebook pages. This will give you a much more realistic idea of what to expect than the tantalising description on their menu.

Who says your extravagant Christmas meal needs to be traditional? Why not mix it up this year and enjoy afestive Indian or Chinese! Not only will this ensure you don't need to stress about meeting everyone's traditional expectations, but you'll enjoy aChristmas meal that stands out from the rest.

Just because you're not eating at home, doesn't mean there won't be specific requirements for different people! If you're in charge make sure your

fri.ad/xmas

restaurant choice caters to everyone's dietary rdtequirements. Throughout the year most restaurants will offer separate menus for different intolerances and allergies. Just because it's Christmas they should still offer you the same service, so don't be afraid to ask if you can't find what you're looking for.

You may have had your Christmas day plans set in stone for months, or even longer! Don't let that sway you, the lead up to Christmas is the perfect opportunity to enjoy ameal out with friends and coworkers. Make sure to set time aside from all the hectic preparations for quality time with the people that mean the most to you. Whether that's grabbing a pint down your local, enjoying acheeky Nando's or enjoying aChristmas meal with all the trimmings before the big day! Who says you can't have more than one sumptuous meal?

INSULATION

WINDOWS & DOORS

MOTORS

CHIMNEY SWEEP

There are many simple yet cost-effective ways to insulate your home, which can significantly reduce heat loss -lowering your energy bills and keeping you toasty this winter! You can insulate your: roof, loft, floor, walls, windows, tanks, pipes and radiators. Call an expert who can run you through the benefits of draught-proofing, condensation solutions and general insulation techniques.

The cold, wet weather in winter can really take its toll on traditional timber windows and unless you regularly maintain them their performance dramatically dips. No upkeep (painting, sanding, varnishing) is required with newly bought UPVC or aluminium windows as they are completely weather resistant and can retain their appearance. Furthermore, opting for double or triple glazing will ensure the heat stays in this winter!

It's important to know that your car is fully prepared for driving home for Christmas! Visit your local garage to ensure your battery will persevere through the cold. Abattery more than five years old may struggle in the winter - get it checked and replaced if necessary. You should also consider winter tyres for improved safety.

When temperatures plummet over the festive period, people start to enjoy lighting their wood or coal fires to keep warm in the evenings. But first, everyone should book avisit from a professional chimney sweep. It's necessary to sweep your chimney at least once a year, or even quarterly depending on the type of fireplace you have. Blocked chimneys are blamed for many fires and can cause carbon monoxide poisoning as a buildup of soot and tar. Sometimes even birds' nests, can stop fires or boilers burning efficiently - This can, in turn, cause them to catch fire.

BOILERS

•

The average lifespan of a boiler is thoughtto be just 12 years. It's estimated that around six million boilers in the UK could be near the end oftheir lifespan and that around half of Britain's boilers are already five years old or more. That's alot of older boilers out there that have seen better days. It's good practice to get your boiler serviced every year to ensure you don't get any nasty surprises.

There's many things you can do to stay prepared - such as: ensuring you've always got at least a quarter tank of fuel for emergencies; checking and cleaning your lights to ensure you can be seen; checking your coolant levels; making sure your tyres have at least 3mm oftread. Ultimately the besttool for winter motorists is to be prepared and double check!

Even more importantly, everyone knows that Father Christmas travels down the chimney Christmas Eve, so be sure to sweep your chimney so he can deliver your presents safely!
