MEDICINA DO GOLFE O Golfe é um desporto jogado em todo o mundo e por pessoas de todas as idades. Parte do seu apelo é que não há limite de género, idade ou capacidade física para a sua prática. A participação no Golfe está distribuída por todas as faixas etárias, sendo mais elevado na população sénior/aposentada, devido ao maior tempo livre para a sua prática. O seu baixo componente aeróbio, faz com que seja recomendado quando se pretende a prática de exercício em algumas condições de saúde. A carreira de Golfe pode estender-se por mais de 50 anos, com uma enorme variedade de perfis de jogadores, com semelhantes padrões de swing. O conceito de Medicina do Golfe tem por objetivo caracterizar de forma holística o jogador, respeitando todos os aspetos biopsicossociais, abrangendo tanto o profissional quanto o amador.

GOLF MEDICINE Golf is a sport which is played around the world by people of all ages. Part of its appeal is that there is no gender, ability or age limit for the practice of golf. Although golf is played by all age groups, it is preferred by seniors and the retired population due to the free time available for the practice. Its low aerobic component makes is the perfect medical recommendation when exercise is advised. A career in golf may last over 50 years, with players of various ages having similar swing patterns. The concept of Golf Medicine aims to characterize comprehensively the professional and amateur player, taking into account his biopsychosocial aspects.

The concept of Golf Medicine intends to manage the various “Golf Related Injuries” and “Age-Related Injuries”, through innovative diagnostic and treatment techniques, with customized programs, involving improvement of physical skills, correction of functional deficits and performance training. The multidisciplinary team GFI – Golf Medicine, is a dynamic group devoted to the care and objective resolution of sports injuries through monitoring and active participation in the international movement of Golf Medicine.
