Tuition Assistance
You May Be Eligible for Tuition Assistance Many of our courses are eligible for vouchers and reimbursement through employers, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Workforce 1 Centers, ACCES-VR and other government assistance programs. Adult Career and Continuing Education Services - Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) is available for students with disabilities. http://www.acces.nysed.gov/vr Employment Vouchers may be available through your employer. Contact the Human Resources, Personnel or Training Department at your place of employment to receive information on vouchers for tuition reimbursement opportunities. Individual Training Grants (ITGs): ITGs help qualified jobseekers get the specialized training needed to obtain or advance in employment as an Armed Security Guard (8 and 16 Hour Training), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA), Computer Support Specialist or Computer Systems Analyst. http://www1.nyc.gov/site/sbs/careers/training-grants.page
Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Vouchers may be available for individuals who are unemployed, dislocated, disabled, youth (14-21) meeting certain requirements or displaced workers. https://www.benefits.gov/benefit/94 NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training: State employees receive $1,220 per year to pay for academic and vocational courses, as well as $350 for certification and licensure exam fees. https://www.nyscseapartnership.org/tuition-benefits AFSCME Scholarships: AFSCME union members and their dependents are eligible to receive scholarships for both degree and non-degree courses. https://www.afscme.org/members/scholarships

Career Success Scholarship-Helena Rubinstein is open to individuals who are unemployed or those seeking to advance or change careers through continuing education and training, and do not have access to other sources of funding.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities For prospective students that are interested in a Hostos Continuing Education course and/or program, requests for reasonable accommodation must be accompanied by documentation of disability which will help us evaluate the limitations of the disability and determine an appropriate reasonable accommodation. Students should submit requests and documentation to program coordinators as soon as possible and no later that two weeks prior to the class start date. We will review and evaluate the request and arrange for a reasonable accommodation that would be appropriate.
