Middle States Commission on Higher Education Hostos Community College, as an institution of higher education, is a community dedicated to students, the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge, the study and clarification of values and the advancement of the society it serves.
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), through accreditation, mandates that its member institutions meet rigorous and comprehensive standards. These standards are addressed in the context of the mission of each institution and within the culture of ethical practices and institutional integrity expected of accredited institutions. In meeting the quality standards of MSCHE accreditation, institutions earn accredited status, which permits them to state with confidence, “Our students are well-served. Society is well-served.”
THE ACCREDITATION STANDARDS INCLUDE: III The Institution’s Mission and Goals III Ethics and Integrity III Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience III Support of the Student’s Experience III Educational Effectiveness Assessment III Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement III Governance, Leadership, and Administration
Hostos Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and is currently in its three-year journey to renew the College’s accreditation in 2022. Various pages have been created on the Hostos website to provide a place for the College community to easily navigate through relevant information and remain engaged with the College’s Middle States Self-Study. The site contains pages and links to documents relating to the Self-Study, including the Self-Study Design (SSD), status of the Self-Study process at Hostos, members of the Steering Committee and all standards-based working group members, Self-Study updates, recorded college-wide forums and presentations. Also accessible is a history page with the previous 2012 Self-Study report and midpoint periodic reports submitted to Middle States between 2012 and 2019, as well as a direct link to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (https://www.msche.org/institution/0431/).
