Part One Re-examine the tutor manual and schedule a 20 minute meeting with Julie, Zainab, or Desiree to discuss and review the tutor manual and Writing Center rules and policies. Part Two To critically evaluate the process of negotiation in understanding Writing Center culture and values, answer the following questions in a reflective response that you submit to the Writing Center blog: What possible problems might a tutor experience with other tutors or clients in the Writing Center? How should you resolve these issues? Why did these problems occur in the first place? What are the similarities between negotiations at work and in your day-to-day relationships? Part Three-Please complete one of the two activities described below: A) Select one of the self-directed tutor development activities listed in the tutor manual and write about what you will learn and how this will impact your tutoring on the Writing Center Blog. B) Use the Southern Main Partnership Guide to Good Probing Questions to design a student-centered session for each student scenario below.
