What is in our Luggage?
The biggest challenge when you leave your country, wherever that may be is the way you will adapt. The many changes in climate, language, strange surroundings, learning your way around town, or depending a lot more on others than you ever expected, are just the initial obstacles. The main objective is to learn the language well, to become self sufficient in business and in daily life. Have the common sense to obey the rules, laws and learn costumes of the land.. Do not make the mistake to limit yourself to the Brazilian Market only. You are in America, and you should explore all possibilities. Get off the Bubble, cross the Bridge. We are here to help. info@brazilamerica.org
If you consider purpose, we think success, if you think aboutmotivation, our driven force, is what comes to mind, but if you think our nature we can say Brazilian endurance. We have talent, intelligence and beauty, what else do we need? Tools! The idea we come all the way to America to learn, o be part of something great! Success is hard to reach, it depends on hard work, money and strength, but dedication is the main ingredient. Without dedication no effort will ever be enough to lead you to success. With that in mind, I go back to why the BAC was created, and it was for purpose and to be somehow loyal to our main principle, which is to be Brazilian, to be faithful to our roots, and to never forget where we come from. Forget the Brazilian Way, keep the Brazilian heart, the force, the will, and the reason which will determine where you will get. Be proud! We see so many young Brazilians that loose their fire, getting lost in so many scenarios, why? Because they loose touch with their roots, they forget where they come from, sometimes even ashamed, and that is the first step to fail. We can’t allow our children to make that mistake. Always remember where you come from, be thankful for America but remember Brazil with pride, because regardless, there is where we were born. It is our Mother land. So our nature, our organization the Brazil America Council was created to remind you how important it is to respect our true self and to help you through the transition from Brazil to America. We want you to succeed, but also to be happy.

October was another great month, We had the opportunity to house the Alberto Sena’s new book, Nos Piraeus da Alma, about his journey in Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Thali Sugisawa, his daughter in law and a big fan was responsible for the event’s success and we are happy we had such a successful event. Our culture, talents and Art is our greatest asset and we should always celebrate them. We have a huge debt with our roots, we must encourage the preservation of our memory and legacy for our future generations.

Art & Culture are tied to one another, they bring meaning to dreams, ideas, manifestations of the soul. An artist deeps his thoughts into color, clay, wood, and constructs a picture of his imagination. Same thing with dance, interpretation and music. Artists are creative masters and IMMERSE gave a place so people can look, feel and watch art being made.
Only a city like Orlando could offer such magic. Such an opportunity to all the wonderful people in Downtown. For two days we were delighted with the combination of arts and performances. Our hearts and minds filled with emotion. We hope you enjoy our vision.

Going down these steps was scary. Modern stairs in a very old building. Priceless. Downtown Rio is a large of Rio that was redisigned to house not only businesses but also Art and Culture. We must recognize, that it was a job well executed. Downtown today houses not a few but many Museums and Culturaal areas. In these pictures, you can see the beautiful contrast between modern and old, where Universities, Museums, Court and several businesses, share their magnificent space. Rio is magic, and all because espite all the political turmoil, dreamers also found a way to create this contrast which attracts so many investors and tourists, It is a work in progress but for sure worth seeing. I visited de Imperial Path, that was transformed in a huge cultural space with many artists showing their wor, including Amador Perez. The BAC was honored to be there at Amadeu Perez Art Exhibition and it is our main interest to bring Brazilian Art everywhere we can. We hope you liked it. Visit Rio, talk to us.

A LITTLE ABOUT OUR HISTORY
The property stretches from Rua do Catete (Catete Street) to Praia do Flamengo. Construction began in 1858 and ended in 1867. From 1897 to 1960, it was Brazil's presidential palace and the site of President Getúlio Vargas' suicide. It now houses the Museu da República (Republic Museum) and a theatre. The Catete underground rail station is adjacent.

Due to the economic crisis in the late 1880s and early 1890s (The Encilhamento), the venture went bankrupt, and its titles acquired by counselor Francisco de Paula Mayrink. Five years later, Mayrink paid off debts to the Bank of Brazil. The seat of the executive branch of Brazil was the Itamaraty Palace in Rio de Janeiro. In 1897, President Prudente de Morais became ill and Vice President Manuel Vitorino took office as interim. He acquired the Catete Palace and over there installed the seat of government. Officially, the palace was the seat of the Federal Government from 1897 until 1960, when the capital and the Federal District were transferred to Brasília.
The building was built as the residence of family of the Portuguese-born Brazilian coffee producer António Clemente Pinto, Baron of Nova Friburgo, in the then capital of the Empire of Brazil. It was called the Palace of Largo Valdetaro and Palace of Nova Friburgo.
