The social event of the season returns as the Miss Florida F.I. Pageant takes place on Monday, August 8 at the beautiful Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach. The pageant attracts some of the top-named female impersonators, as well as movie, TV and fashion stars from across the USA and beyond. BY SCOTT HOLLAND I thought it would be timely to sit down with Miss Florida F.I., Chasity Ross Boen , for this interview less than one week before she crowns her successor. When was the first time you found out about Miss Florida F.I.? When I came out of the closet and started performing I found out about Miss Florida F.I. from my drag mom, Lillian Ross. Another one of her drag daughters was Chena Kelly, who was a former Miss Florida and she had recently passed away.
When did you first attend the Miss Florida F.I. pageant?
Unfortunately I had never had the opportunity to see Miss Florida F.I. live, but I have seen most of the video’s.
How long have you wanted to be a Miss Florida F.I.? The seed was planted over 20 years ago when my drag mom told me about it.
How many times did you enter?
I was incredibly fortunate enough to win on my first attempt.
Do you remember how it felt when your name was called out as the winner? It was an overwhelming feeling of “Oh My, Oh My, Oh My.”
Tell me about your reigning year.
So many things happened this year. First, I traveled to so many places, towns, cities, clubs, bars, preliminary pageants. However, I am so happy I traveled so much as I feel I have made lifelong friendships and relationships, not only from people who live in Florida, but across the nation and worldwide. I feel that I have also learned so many things about the Miss Florida system, and pageantry in general.
careers in TV, movies, and coveted lead roles in shows and cabarets including in Las Vegas and Provincetown, and have traveled not only across the state of Florida but around the world.
Do you have any advice for the next Miss Florida F.I.?
I have 3 pieces of advice for my successor: Be Kind, Be Kind, Be Kind.
What does the future hold for you?
It’s hard for me to predict what the future holds, but I envision I will stay creative, continue my activism, and my education. I am also sure I will continue to perform -Continental has my interest as well as AAG, EOY and Miss International Queen.
In the past Miss Florida F.I. had celebrity judges, including KC and the Sunshine Band, Boy George, and Sylvester. This year we have Latrice Royale of RuPaul’s Drag Race season four and All-Stars joining six other qualified judges. Although many pageant systems have started since, they have followed the lead of Miss Florida F.I. Although Miss Florida F.I. is a state title, the system has always been recognized as one of the top five national pageants. Former winners have gone onto great
The new owners who plan to uphold the vision of original owners Keith Landon and Rene Rodriguez include: Alyson Thomas, a seasoned professional in the art form of female impersonation herself for 40 years, brings professionalism, style, stability, and experience to the pageant. She is also known throughout the country as a leading promoter and supporter to many who have gone on to become national title holders and a coach to newcomers. Well-respected by everyone
in the art form, a hands-on owner with an eye for detail, coupled with personality, hospitality and vision.
Scott Holland (yes, that’s me), whose knowledge and experience in the Florida market includes media and editorial experience, judging experience in
many pageantry systems, experience as a pageant coordinator and in public relations, professionalism, has a love for entertainment that cannot be touched. Victor Zepka and Gary Santis, who have owned the pageant for many years, stay on as owners to keep the history of the system alive. hey bring decades of hands-on working knowledge of the system and the experience that makes Miss Florida F.I. rich in history and memories. Victor brings long-standing established relationships with sponsors, vendors and local business and community leaders to the pageant. Gary continues to create amazing sets, outrageous productions, s t a t e - of- t h e - a r t sound and lighting, encompassing a show and a night of entertainment not to be missed. Here’s what the future holds for the Miss Florida F.I. Pageant contestants, formers, and the gay, lesbian and transgender community: A Yearly Miss Florida F.I. Pageant at our new home, the beautiful Deauville Beach Resort. A Yearly Miss
Florida F.I. at Large Pageant at the Parliament House in Orlando. The establishment of the not-for-profit Miss Florida F.I. Foundation. The night featured hostesses Nikki Adams, Miss Kitty and Russell of Scandals Saloon and over 20 of your local sexy bartenders all selling their underwear for this amazing charity. Nearly $10,000 was raised, so a big congrats go out to the promoters for putting on such a successful event! The very next day was the 7th anniversary of Celebrity Impersonator Michael Walters, Dame Edna's Broadway Cabaret show at the Alibi. The event was called “The Seven Year Bitch,” and also celebrated Michael's birthday. On Saturday, the Pet Project presented their inaugural Bowl-A-Thon from 1-4pm at Manor Lanes and lots of money was raised for this important organization. On Sunday we started the night at Scandals Saloon for their monthly Lady fancy's Gospel Jubilee, which as always packs them in and then headed to Nicole Halliwell's Drink N Drag Sundays at Wolf Bar as they presented the theme “Back to the 90's” with a look alike tribute to the Spice Girls and a red carpet by “This Free Life” as seen on LOGO TV. They also featured a best 90's look costume contest to win 90's prizes. This was a fun way to end the weekend!

With the start of the Rio 2016 games this week and since it’s our annual Sporting edition, we thought we would bring you a bit of background on the LGBT contributors to the games over the years. Sadly there have been only a relatively small number of out gay competitors at the Olympics, but each time the world comes together to compete, more and more members of our community feel comfortable enough to come out and not hide their sexuality. While homosexuality is still criminalized in many of the countries that compete in the games, the Olympic Committee has taken great strides in recent games (with the exception of the Winter games in Sochi in 2014) to include LGBT people. During the
lead up to the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain the idea was tossed about to have a special place for gays and lesbians but nothing came of it until much later at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games of 2010 when the first Pride House was conceived. The idea has caught on, but in the following winter games, which took place in Sochi, Russian in 2014, the Pride House was banned because of ridiculous anti-gay laws
in place in the country. It is worth pointing out that the Pride House at the 2012 summer games in London almost didn’t happen but the project was rescued at the last minute by an LGBT group called Pride Sports UK. This year for the Rio games, the Pride House promises to be the best yet offering a range of services to athletes,
coaches, volunteers, and visitors. They will broadcast the games, provide resources for LGBT people, lectures on human rights, promote cultural events throughout the games, including exhibitions and photos of past LGBT Olympians. Instead of hiding the Pride House away somewhere, this time it will have a place of prominence along Ipanema Beach, perhaps the most famous stretch of sand in the world. No more hiding! Just like in the overall history of LGBT people, dreadful things have been done to athletes who have chosen to come out. Because of this precedent, very few have actually done so before their games, and of the ones who have, most have been fairly recent. From Nazi concentration camps to gender tests and revocation of medals, the LGBT history at the Olympics has mostly been a sad one. Again, until recent history that is. The first documented out Olympian was a German runner named Otto Peltzer, who competed in the 1928 games in Amsterdam. Peltzer would reach wide spread fame in Germany for his athletic prowess on the track, but unfortunately his sexuality later made him a target of the Nazi party and he was jailed several times and released and told never to set foot in Germany again. Years later, while the Nazis were still in power, they asked him to come back home and promised to drop all charges against him for Otto Peltzer homosexuality.
Unfortunately, we know too well how they operated. As soon as he reentered Germany, he was promptly arrested and taken to a concentration camp, where he was lucky to survive his time there, until the allied forced liberated the camp in 1945. Back in the day, society had such twisted ideas about sports, that women were not even allowed to compete in the games until 1928 in Amsterdam, and then only in track and field events. Because Alice Milliat of this overt sexism, a French woman named Alice Milliat developed the Women’s Olympics but was eventually forced to cancel the games because of pressure from the International Olympic Committee which sued her to stop calling her games Olympics. One of the first athletes to bridge the gap from the Women’s Olympics to the official Olympic Games was a Polish born woman named Stella Wa l s i e w i c z , who despite living in the US competed for her native Poland because the US refused to give her citizenship until 1947. During the Helen Stephens 1928 games, an American runner beat her and the Polish team cried foul, claiming that the American, Helen Stephens, was actually a man. A gender test was undertaken and proved the
claims were false, but several interesting tidbits happened because of this. The first is widespread international doubt about women athlete’s gender. For years, the IOC was rocked by controversy of women who were accused of being men. T h e y even developed a gender DNA test to Stella Walsiewicz help classify women athletes. The second interesting tidbit is that years later, in 1980, Stella Walsiewicz was gunned down in a dark parking lot in her home town of Cleveland, Ohio. During the autopsy, it was discovered that she, in fact, did possess both male and female sex organs. The vast majority of LGBT Olympians over the years have been women. True to stereotype, the men who have competed tend to be in individual sports like swimming, horseback riding, and in the winter games, figure skating. H o w e v e r, just like our community at large, it is Mathew Mitcham impossible
to pigeonhole gay athletes into certain sports. From swimmers and divers like Mathew Mitcham, Tom Daley, and Greg Louganis, to Boxers like Orlando Cruz, who is featured in this issue Tom Daley of Hotspots, there have been more and more LGBT athletes who are competing in the Olympic Games. This summer’s games in Rio promise to be the most open and inclusive yet. Keep your eyes out for members of our community who are representing their Greg Louganis countries as well as the LGBT people all over the world. The Rio Games start on Friday, August 5 and will continue for two weeks until the closing ceremony on August 21. Let us know who your favorites are by weighing in on Facebook. We can’t wait to hear from you.
DJ Tony Moran Sings on “High” His Tribute Single Benefitting Orlando Pulse Victims Featuring Dance Divas Nicki Richards and Zhana Roiya Three of the biggest names in club music are sending love to Orlando, releasing a music video and song to help victims of the Pulse nightclub shootings. Tony Moran, Nicki Richards and Zhana Roiya are uniting on a remake of “High”, the inspirational track about rising above adversity, originally recorded by the Lighthouse Family. The song has long been a celebrated LGBTQ anthem. Moran sings on the new version, along with Roiya and Richards, a vocalist best known for providing back-up vocals for Madonna. All are also featured in the breathtaking Karl Giant-directed music video. “High” by Tony Moran (feat. Nicki Richards and Zhana Roiya) releases to iTunes on Tuesday July 26th. Except for writer and publishers fees, all proceeds will go to https:// www.gofundme.com/pulsevictimsfund to benefit the victims of the Orlando attack. The music video is now available at https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYEXB4NITtE. “Pulse nightclub was a safe haven and hub for the LGBTQ community to gather with family and friends, indulge themselves in the rhythms and to create lasting memories filled with joy and laughter,” says Tony Moran from his home in New York. “How it all changed in an instant is still a shock. June 12 will forever be a dark day for the LGBTQ community.” 49 people were killed and 53 were injured in the attack, making it the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in US history. “It’s incredibly important that the community continue to rally the world’s sup-
port, to erase the fear and begin to rebuild,” continues Moran. “The Orlando shooting has demonstrated the strength of our community and I’m inspired to take this movement even higher!” In addition to enlisting Roiya and Richards, Moran pulled together a group of his influential friends for the project. Photographer Karl Giant directed the music video and Phil McKenna created all graphics for the campaign. Both provided their services at no charge. Tony Moran has modeled a career based on encouraging positivity and spreading love. He is considered one of the godfathers of the “freestyle” music movement, having launched the careers of early ’90s music stars The Cover Girls and Lisette Milendez. He would go on to produce and collaborate with some of the biggest names in pop including Gloria Estefan, Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Luther Vandross. Moran has remixed for Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna, among others, and is regarded as one of the most influential DJs in house music. “High” was originally released by the British pop duo Lighthouse Family. Released on the last day of 1997, the song quickly rose to No. 1 in Australia and landed in the top 10 in many European countries. In the USA, its profound message of unity and rising above adversity helped it to become a celebrated LGBTQ anthem. “I knew it was the perfect track to re-make after the Orlando tragedy,” explains Moran. “It’s a beautiful reminder that love conquers all and when the community bands together, we can rise as high as the sky.” Visit http://www.tonymoran.com

Key West
K
ey West is like no place else in the United States. The Southernmost City in the continental US is also one of the most welcoming and open minded of any that I have ever been to. The motto of the city is “One Human Family” and gays and lesbians, along with pretty much everyone else society decided to toss away, have been welcomed with open arms long before we were accepted in other places. Perhaps it’s because it is the end of the road or perhaps it’s the draw of the sun and copious amounts of alcohol that have been a fixture here since it was smuggled in during prohibition, there is something magical about the Conch Republic and when you are there, you won’t want to leave. From free range chickens to six toed cats, Key West is bustling with activity, even during what is supposed to be the “low season.” Next week is Tropical Heat, one of the city’s hottest weekends, and that has nothing to do with the fact that it takes place during August, so we present you with some of our “hot spots” to help you make the most of your getaway.
THE CONCH REPUBLIC How to get there
From Fort Lauderdale and Miami there are only two ways to get to Key West- Drive and fly. Should you decide to drive, get ready for one of the most magnificent road trips in the United States. Key West is about 130 miles southwest of Miami so it will take you a little over 3 hours to get there, if there is no traffic on US 1 the only road in and out. Much of the highway is only 2 lanes so things can get a little hairy, especially on the weekends, when millions of tourists take to all of the Keys. One of the highlights of the drive is the Seven Mile Bridge that seems to go on forever brining you ever closer to your final destination. Several airlines offer daily flights into Key West International Airport from both Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Silver Airlines operates out of Fort Lauderdale while American Airlines offers flights from Miami. There are also a few private airlines that offer charter flights on small planes that can be an
economical option if you are going with a group.
Where to Stay nn The Island House
1129 Fleming St., 305-294-6284 is one of the most highly awarded gay resorts in the world and it is a local institution that lives up to its accolades in every way. It is all male, gay owned, and offers a wide array of entertainment along with a bar and restaurant on premises, so once you are there, you don’t have to leave for anything. The entire property is clothing optional, they have a beautiful pool, plenty of sun deck space for working on your tan, and a full gym so you can keep up with your workout regimen. They also feature a video and “play room” upstairs where you can have some fun with your new friends. Book early here, they sell out most weekends and in the high season, almost every day. For more info, visit them online at IslandHouseKeyWest.com Just down the block on Fleming Street is
nn Equator Resort
822 Fleming St. (305) 294-7775, another all male guest house with 34 guest rooms spread out over a few different buildings. A
few years ago, the small resort was able to purchase the property next door and more than double its occupancy. I stayed here on my most recent trip to Key West, and the service was second to none. This is gay Key West at it’s very best. With two pools, two hot tubs, and a free daily happy hour from 5-6:30, they even serve free food to the guests. While not as cruisy as other places, there were still plenty of sights to be seen at this clothing optional resort. In the heart of the gay block of Duval Street you will find New Orleans House
nn New Orleans House
724 Duval St. which is located in and operated by the Bourbon Street Pub, one of Key West’s principle gay bars. The New Orleans House is the place for you if you love to party and have a good time. The resort is all male and clothing optional (are you sensing a theme here?) but it is also open to the public and has a pool bar that is often happening, especially during happy hour. The resort pool and hot tub are open to the public as well, the bartender will be happy to give you a towel should you decide to get wet. The public’s access changes the atmosphere from the private feel of the places mentioned above, that are only available to guests or with a day pass. Hotel guest take advantage of free happy hour here too, and there are a couple restaurants in the complex. Get free cover to Bourbon Street Pub and other local places offer discounts for guests. What it lacks in refinery, it makes up in authenticity, so it’s Key West, just go with it and have fun.

Where to play
All day long you will hear tons of live music pouring from the bars that line Duval Street, take a chance on one and dance like no one is watching. Equator and The Island House both offer guest passes for the day so if you want to go and have some fun there, don’t worry, they will welcome you with open arms.

Key West would be nothing without the water that surrounds the city, so make it a point to spend some of your time there out on that water. They offer several different trips so visit them at BluQKeyWest.com and let them put their 20 years of experience to work to help you make memories you will never forget. And don’t forget the sunblock, your backside will thank me later!
nn The Conch train
If this is your first trip to Key West, one of the city tours might be right up your ally. The Conch train is hard to miss as you see it going all around the island filled with tourists covered in sun block (you should be one of them) so take a ride on it if you would like a guided tour of the city. Catch the train at the Front Street and Duval. Fun Gay Sports Leagues in Florida ay sports leagues have served to unite people in Florida and around the world for decades, and many Floridians have competed at the international level in the sports that they love. In addition to allowing gay athletes, professional or amateur, to practice their favorite sports, gay sports leagues bring likeminded people together and creates a sense of camaraderie, teamwork, and loyalty. In this year's sports issue, I'm giving you the rundown on five sports in Florida, namely their organized gay folllowings. Softball, flag football, bowling, tennis, and polo...there are so many options to choose from! You can sit and watch sports at a bar, which can definitely be enjoyable, but you can also get out there and participate yourself! You can find out how to do just that in the sections for each sport below. GAY SOFTBALL
Softball was one of the first sports to field organized gay and lesbian teams in the United States. In 1977, the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) was created, giving many people the first chance to compete on gay-friendly sports teams and to play with and against like-minded people.
South Florida is represented in softball by the South Florida Amateur Athletic Association (SFAAA). In the 2016 spring season, twenty-seven different teams competed in divisions from "Masters" to the "D Division". The SFAAA plays gay softball in the fall and in the spring, and welcomes any new players or teams to sign up via their website at sfaaasoftball.com. The SFAAA can trace its roots back to 1994, when the first gay softball league in South Florida (the South Florida Softball League) was founded. The SFAAA hosts the Hurricane Showdown tournament, which will be held this year from November 25-27. Registration is open now; go to hurricaneshowdown.net for more information. Also, the SFAAA will be having their fall recruitment drive on Saturday, August 6 at 10 a.m. at Mills Pond Park. You'll get another chance to meet players inperson at their NAGAAA World Series sendoff party (Saturday, August 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Scandals Saloon), and be sure to follow their progress at the NAGAAA World Series, which will be held in Austin, Texas from August 15-20.
GAY FLAG FOOTBALL
South Florida is home to the South Florida F l a g F o o t ba l l L e a g u e ( S F F F L ) , w h i c h emphasizes co-ed competition. The SFFFL organizes a tournament in which teams from a ro u n d t h e c o u n t r y a re we l c o m e to participate, called the Florida Sunshine Cup, which will take place across two days, February 11-12, 2017, at Central Broward Regional Parks and Stadium (3700 NW 11th Pl., Lauderhill).
Mi Familia Vota (My Family Votes) is a nonprofit that is helping to organize the Latino community and increase their voice in the electoral process in the US. They have offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, and Texas. While announcing the partnership for this project, Cruz, an openly gay man, also paid homage to the 49 victims who lost their lives in the terrorist attack at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. “As long as I am able, I will continue adding my grain of sand and I will continue to be outspoken so that there is no more discrimination, no more hate, and that there are more rights, more equality, and more love. Enough prejudice and homophobia…” he said when he visited the crime scene. He also left flowers and a pair of boxing gloves as a way to honor the victims. The electoral campaign will include banner announcements on the corners of boxing rings during upcoming All Star Boxing events, as well as on the clothing that the boxers wear before and after the fights. All Star Boxing fights are broadcast on Telemundo. Cruz told BuzzFeed News “Through the campaign we hope Latinos in the U.S. will go out to vote in large numbers without fear and make their voices heard. It’s important because as immigrants, many of whom who come here to look for stability, we have to advocate for our
rights.” He also added that his friend Franky Jimmy Dejesus Velazquez was killed during the attack. “It really affected me and made me angry to see that among so many dead was my close friend,” Cruz said. “Gay people have rights just like everybody else and everyone needs to realize that we deserve to live openly and happy.” Cruz came out of the closet in 2012 after years of worrying about his sexuality. When he came out he spoke to The Guardian about the violence that our community faces saying: “People have died because of this, I am proud to be Puerto Rican, just like I am proud to be a gay man. But I was sad and angry a long time because there are two doors to death over this one issue. There is suicidal death – when a gay man cannot stand being unaccepted and takes his own life. And there is homophobic murder. In both these situations I want to be a force for change.” Because he is living his life openly as a gay man while still actively participating in professional sports, his connection to Florida through his Puerto Rican heritage and second home in Orlando, as well as his work to get out the vote for the Latino community Orlando Cruz is our Genre Diferencia guy for August. Thanks Orlando!

WOODY FIRST TIMING ey Woody, I hate onenight stands—I'm the kind that likes to go on two or three dates before I sleep with someone (the morning-after regrets are few this way). I love the anticipation and the build-up of waiting but with some guys I'm so attracted to them it actually makes me feel a little anxious and stressed out. Are there 'rules of engagement' for the first night of sex? - Patient but Nervous Dear Patient: Since I've never waited two or three dates to have sex, I don't have the vaguest idea what to tell you. Once, at the end of a first date we were sitting on my date's couch, making out when my hands migrated south (they do that in the winter. And spring, summer and fall. THEY JUST LIKE THE CLIMATE DOWN THERE.) Anyway, the guy says, "I don't do that on the first date." I said, "How about on your last?” I don't recommend that course of seduction. It leaves awful bruises. But here's what I do recommend: *Don't Move In. If you're staying at his place don't pack an overnight bag and wheel it into his place after dinner. It's too pre-planned and you'll make the guy think he's going to need a crowbar to pry you out of his house. *Don't talk about your past sex life. Once, my date and I were walking up to his apartment and he says, "This place looks so
H
familiar. Oh, I know why! I fucked a guy who lives down the block!" Even Woody doesn't want to hear that shit. *Don't take too long to 'slip into something more comfortable.' Taking too much prep time kills the moment. You don't want guys thinking you've got explosive diarrhea or that you're having a tough time removing your prosthetic leg. *Don't be the Man That Sense Forgot. The first time I had sex with this guy I really liked he opened his backpack and dozens, and I mean dozens, of condoms in different sizes fell out. True, I brightened up and said, "Yeesssssss!" But most people wouldn't. *Try Not To Let 'er Rip. If you fart during sex do what I do: Blame it on the dog. *Save the heavy-duty stuff for later. The first night in bed is a "sexual first impression." It sets the tone and expectations for later dates. I say keep sex plain and simple. If he sees your closet bulging with leather strap-ons, motorized butt plugs, double-headed dildos, and electric tit zappers, you might scare him off. I'd keep even the milder inclinations under wraps. If you like "Tabasco Talk" save it for another day when spicy nouns and verbs will get a better reception. The first night is vanilla night. From then on you can start giving vanilla a reputation. *Make The First Move If He Doesn't. Some guys may be pawing the ground to get at you but are just too shy or scared of rejection so they don't initiate. Don't assume that just because he hasn't made the move he's not interested. *Be Playful. Your first time with somebody, especially somebody you care about, is bound to cause a little stress and anxiety. You're on a sensual adventure not a sexual interview. Concentrate on fun and the pleasure will follow.

used to think that I would be like Keith Haring or Rober t Mapplethorpe. But instead I've become Neil Patrick Harris - only not as cool 'cause I can't tap dance.-Agustin (Frankie J. Alvarez) shares a secret with Patrick (Jonathan Groff) on "Looking: The Movie". How does Paddy respond? "You could learn." And you wonder why the show was cancelled. In these troubled times when you don't know who to trust, let me assure you that I, Billy Masters, have written each and every word of this column every week for over two decades. Why, I was just telling my children Sasha and Malia about how this started when their father and I were community activists in Chicago. Hold on. I might be channeling my inner Michelle Obama, something we all do occasionally. Who could blame Melania for that? Plus, Melania/Malia - they're very similar! While the hopeful First Lady is trying to find her way, might I suggest a niche which may fit her to a T: she can be the first First Lady to have intentionally posed topless! Oh, sure, Jackie Kennedy was a "Hustler" centerfold, but at least Melania had the good sense to get paid for it. Unless someone can prove
//Melania Trump// me wrong with photos of a spread-eagle Eleanor Roosevelt (a sight precious few would ever want to see), I think Melania's place in history is secured. Am I the only one to note her resemblance to Caitlyn Jenner? Political conventions are always big moneymakers. And you know who made out well with the Republicans? Gay escorts. We hear the GOP couldn't get enough of men for hire. In fact, hookers were actually carpooling and being bused into the Cleveland area! The "New York Post" got a few of the rentboys on the record without actually using their names, naturally. They provided such tantalizing morsels as, "Business has been way better. I've seen 10 clients so far;" "I normally only make $200 to $300, but I've been seeing lots of guys in hotels downtown...Most of them were first-timers. You could tell they were nervous, but once they became more comfortable, they seemed to be having a good time." Apparently the female prostitutes did not experience a proverbial bump in business. But I bet they'll be doing banner business in the City of Brotherly Love! You know how after you've broken up with someone, you start to romanticize the relationship? It wasn't that bad. Maybe you shouldn't have broken up. After a while, you give the ex a call and get together...just to see. And
you know what you will invariably discover? That you were right to break up in the first place. That sums up the long-awaited "Looking: The Movie". Spoiler alert: HBO has found a way to unmemorably tie up the loose ends of a show that was unmemorable to begin with. Only time will tell if this film will also (erroneously) be regarded fondly upon reflection. But it reminded me of every reason why initial viewers tuned out in droves. For the first half hour, I kept wondering, "Who talks like this?" I distracted myself trying to figure out whether the problem was the writing, the direction, the acting, or (d) all of the above. Then, after 45 minutes, something finally happened. That oasis lasted 10 minutes. Precious little has changed for these characters since HBO put them out of their misery last March. But that didn't stop the 30somethings from apologizing for being out of touch. Hello? Is it 1983? Perhaps. After all, the best acting came from 1983 Best Actress Emmy Award winner, Tyne Daly! One member of the "Looking" cast had reason to celebrate last week. Daniel Franzese (formerly best known for his role in "Mean Girls") got engaged. The proposal took place at the same North Hollywood Starbucks where he met his beau, Joseph Bradley Phillips, over a year ago. Daniel gave the Barista a ring and had him put it in a cup labeled Mr. and Mr.
//Dan Franzese & Joseph Bradley Phillips//
Franzese. Needless to say, Phillips said yes. "Joseph has given me the best of his heart. Finding my soulmate has made all the years I struggled with myself worth it," says Franzese. Congrats! Our "Ask Billy" question comes from Sander in Illinois: "A friend of mine just showed me a video of Zayn Malik (formerly of One Direction) sucking d$#k. It sure looks legit to me. Thoughts? Looks real to me, too. And the woefully overworked Filth2Go forensic examiners have told me that no editing or altering has been done to the footage. But our legal team wants me to make it clear that we cannot say without any doubt that this is Zayn. We can say, however, that if you'd like to see someone who appears to be Zayn sucking on what appears to be an enormous d$#k (and sucking it rather enthusiastically), then go to BillyMasters.com. When Melania needs a birth certificate to use the restroom, it's time to end yet another column. I bet if she gave the speech in her native Slovenian, nobody would have noticed nobody except moi. Because we always get to the bottom of things at www.BillyMasters.com - the site that's multi-lingual. If you have a question, send it to Billy@BillyMasters.com, and I promise to get back to you before Zayn proves he doesn't suck. Until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.
//Zayn Malik//
