SPRING FORWARD
By Ian Maloney
Publisher/ Marketing Director Peter Clark Peter@HotspotsMedia.com
Vice President | GM Peter Jackson
Can you believe it is already time to spring forward? As we move our clocks forward this weekend and gain an hour of daylight in the afternoon, things are really heating up in South Florida. (And I'm not talking about the weather.) This weekend is the Equality Florida Miami Gala, which will take place on Sunday, March 12 at the Nobu Eden Rock Hotel in Miami Beach. In advance of the gala, we sat down with an unsung hero in Miami's LGBT History, Cindy Brown. After years of activism in the area, Brown is now the MiamiDade Development Officer for Equality Florida. As many of our readers already know, our current president rolled back protections of Transgender students recently, forsaking a promise he made to the LGBT community before the election that he would be the best president in history for LGBT rights. This week, we are standing up with the Trans community in solidarity, we have an article that outlines the changes and what we can
expect moving forward. We also have an exclusive interview with Miss Coco Peru who will bring her show “A Gentle Reminder- Coco's Guide to a Somewhat Happy Life to the Sunshine Cathedral in Fort Lauderdale. For more information on show time and how to get tickets, check out the feature right here in this week's Hotspots! We are also getting ready for Miami Beach Gay Pride which is a little less than a month away. This week, we have a feature on Pride Lights up the Night about the organization's efforts to get local Miami buildings to light up in rainbow colors for the weekend of Miami Beach Gay Pride. Rounding out this issue of Hotspots are our great features. We have What's Hot South Florida, Scott Holland's take on the not to miss events this weekend, we have expanded our Hot List Top 5 into a Top 10 since there are so many exciting things happening, and we have Hollywood Inside and Out, Need Wood, and our new fan favorite, Hot Bodies.

DJ AJ REDDY When did you realize you wanted to be a DJ? In high school, but never pursued it seriously because my family expected me to become an engineer. After nine years of being an engineer I switched careers and became a DJ. Where are you from? I am from Goa and I still have my life and connections intact there. It is a quaint Portuguese enclave on the West coast of India; 400 kilometers (250 miles) South of Bombay. In fact, my music inspiration came from Goa being immersed in the Full Moon Rave Parties with 140 BPM Trance Music. Goa Trance or 26 | Hotspots.LGBT
[exclusive interview] by Scott Holland
Psychedelic Trance originated in Goa. I was not a House Music DJ until I immigrated to the US and started attending Roxy, Twilo & Sound Factory. I enjoyed this new sound that is set at 128 BPM, which is different from Trance and I started collecting music from the late 90s and early 2000 and added elements of Trance and Tribal to it to bring it up to my liking. What brought you to South Florida? After the big clubs closed down in NYC in the early and mid-2000s, there was a major lull in the club scene. There were just small clubs playing pop music. I was not going anywhere
fast in NY. Miami seemed exciting with all of its big clubs intact and the music with a lot of Latin & Tribal Inspiration which is right up my alley. So it was a natural move. What was your first residency, and how did that feel? My first residency in US was in Long Island and the club was called Circus. It was a boisterous Wednesday Night Gay Party. My first residency in Miami was at Mova. I immensely enjoyed both. What separates you from other DJs? I am a remixer on the fly, meaning I use a four deck configuration to marry samples and drops to an existing remix or an original song and take it to another level. If you notice that I am a bit serious in the booth, it's because mixing in a four deck configuration takes a lot of attention and concentration. Another technique I use is scrubbing. That is getting past the boring parts of the song and giving my audience only the main course and the dessert and skipping tasteless sections and endless loops. I also effortlessly switch between genres. So you will find House music, Circuit Pop, EDM etc. going back and forth to keep it interesting at my weekly residencies. But, in big circuit events, I just stick to the House genre, which is what they want. What are some memorable moments from the DJ booth? I had many great moments at many gigs. Among outdoor gigs, the view of a sea of people dancing to my beats was incredible and something I cherish more than anything else. I had the good fortune of experiencing it in the final year of the World famous Lincoln Rd Halloween Gay Block Party in 2013 with 50,000 people, again as one of the headliners at the Miami Beach Gay Pride in 2015 for 65,000 people and the just concluded Fort Lauderdale Pride where I played for 40,000 people. Among the memories from mega clubs one particularly stands out back from July 2012 when I played at the Manor Club in Fort Lauderdale. It was just unreal with wall to wall people and electrifying energy. It was also a record setting crowd for summer and I will never forget the reaction from the crowd.

Other than DJ'ing, what do you like to do for fun? I am an avid Swimmer and a Bicyclist. Put me on a bike or throw me in a pool and I come to life. Describe yourself in three words? Never Give Up What does the future hold for AJ Reddy? I rarely put out my remixes as they are exclusively for my live audience. But I may change that in the future and release some incredible mixes I made. Secondly I have produced some trance music tracks before, but it was a wrong choice for this country and my audience. So, I will get back to producing House and EDM tracks. You will see more original music coming from me later this year. I am in the process of setting up my recording studio which I hope will be ready by April. Hotspots.LGBT | 27

Miss Coco Peru Comes to the Sunshine Cathedral Outlandish Comedy Series Ends with a Drag! By Ian Maloney
M
iss Coco Peru, who is no stranger to South Florida audiences, returns with her hit show “A Gentle ReminderCoco's Guide to a Somewhat Happy Life” for one night only at the Sunshine Cathedral (1480 SW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale) on Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. Coco Peru aka Clinton Leupp has appeared in many films and TV shows but is perhaps best known for her role in 1999s “Trick” which also starred “Beverly Hills 90210” alum Tori Spelling. Since 2005, she has been the host of “Conversations with Coco,” a successful internet series that has put Miss Coco in front of legends like Liza Minnelli,
Jane Fonda, and Bea Arthur. It was a pleasure to chat with Miss Coco Peru for this Hotspots exclusive interview. You are an interview pro at this point after spending more than 10 years doing “Conversations with Coco”. What are some of the standouts? Well they really all standouts, but I think the ones that would be most recognizable would be Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Allison Janney, Liza Minnelli. Of course, Lily Tomlin was a huge icon for me as a kid, as was Liza. But, the real standout for me would be the first one which was with Bea
Arthur. She was THE idol of mine and I was obsessed with her, so that fact that I got the chance to actually be friends with her was so surreal. Are there any new conversations in the works? No, we are trying to sell the pilot right now. I made it last summer with Lily Tomlin, we are shopping it around now. Lily Tomlin has really done a lot to help other comedians right? Oh yeah, she's amazing. Anytime she has been to see my show, she hangs out afterward. People come up to her and she really engages them. She acts as just she is any other theatre goer, same thing with Allison Janney. She hung out as if she is just one of the people, and they are if you think about it. What can the Fort Lauderdale audience expect from this show? Is this the first night of a new show? I actually have a newer show, but I am bringing “A Gentle Reminder- Coco's Guide to a Somewhat Happy Life to Fort Lauderdale because I haven't done it there yet. If all goes well, I'll bring my newer show to Fort Lauderdale. This show still feels really new to me because I haven't gotten to do it in a lot of places. I am really looking forward to being in Fort Lauderdale; the audiences there have always been great, really generous. Did you do “other drag” before you created Miss Coco Peru? No, I had never done drag before. I wrote my first show before I had ever even done drag, so I did things backwards so to speak. I thought “OMG now that I have written this show and booked it, I hope I look ok in drag.” I didn't even know how to do makeup, I had to get my niece to do it for me. It was crazy but I had a vision of what I wanted to do, and on some level I thought it was going to really work out. It may be that I was in my 20s and had nothing to lose! That doesn't mean I didn't have fears, but my vision and my drive was so much bigger than my fears. Where did the name come from? I was dating a guy from Peru at the time [I was writing that first show] who introduced me to a drag queen in Peru named Coco. I was so
impressed that in this very macho Catholic country, where you had to knock on the door to get into a gay bar, this drag queen had crossed over into main stream Peruvian society and was on TV. I thought, there is something about being in drag that is just powerful. When I started writing my show, I didn't really know other drag queens but I started calling myself Coco in the script. That's how she came about. I had seen Charles Pierce on television as a younger person, and then when I was graduated college, I saw Charles Bush on stage and that was really one of the driving forces behind me creating Coco. I realized that I could embrace what I had been taught to hate about myself and celebrate it. It was very healing and it continues to be on some level. You spend a lot of time on the road. Where are some of your favorite places to visit? I love Seattle. The audiences there always come wanting a great time. I do like performing in Florida because people there come wanting to have a good time. My last show there was just great, and Fort Lauderdale has always been some of my best audiences. I love this show that I'm doing right now. I feel like with how everyone is feeling these days, it's like a big group therapy session. As of press time, there are still tickets available to see Miss Coco Peru her show at the Sunshine Cathedral. For more information, visit OutlandishFL.com

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO
Hmmm…
DO YOU WANT A CAREER AS A DRONE PILOT?
So it seems the business world is preparing to incorporate the use of drones for delivery, aerial photography and all sorts of things. That means, of course, the need for drone pilots. A Lakeland, Florida event is being promoted to give interested individuals “the skills and resources…to create your own independent business as a drone operator.” Hmmm. Check it out at smarturl.it/FlyDronesForProfit
OUT OF NOTHING AT ALL
We discovered this phenomenon in the Smoker Family Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It’s an 15-foot palm tree growing out of the middle of an old oak tree. How it got there and how it thrives is a mystery. Hmmm.
BATTLE LOOMS OVER RECREATIONAL USE OF MARIJUANA IN 8 STATES, D.C.
Another major battle appears to be brewing between the millions (and millions!) of recreational marijuana smokers in America and new Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Recreational marijuana has been approved in eight states as well as Washington, D.C., but remains illegal under the Federal Controlled Substances Act. Recreational use of the drug does not please the Attorney General who believes all this pot smoking is “an unhealthy practice” and is resulting in “real violence.” Observers believe those states allowing the use of recreational marijuana can expect pressure from the Trump administration to reverse those permissions. If that happens, expect the state of California and Colorado, among the most pot-friendly states in the nation, to stage a revolution.
GO AWAY OR I’LL SUE YOU…
Republican Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin is annoyed with his constituents pestering him to hold town hall meetings to discuss the burning issues facing their cities and state. He’s rather avoid answering questions about health care reform and immigration, it seems, so his office is now threatening constituents with “cease and desist” letters as their demands to hear from their elected representative grow louder. Way to go, Senator! Not.

She is an tireless advocate for our community and she has committed herself to helping stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in South Florida’s gay community. Equality Florida’s Miami Gala takes place on Sunday, March 12 at 6 p.m. at Nobu Hotel Eden Rock (4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach). It was a pleasure to chat with Cindy in advance of the gala.

ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU GOT INVOLVED WITH EQUALITY FLORIDA. A: I have been involved in the community for decades and have been familiar with Equality Florida since its inception in the late 90s. After my service at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, I was ready to do something in the LGBT community again. The opportunity to work with the amazing and brilliant team at equality Florida presented itself and of course, I jumped at it! Q: WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY IN MIAMI SINCE THE DAYS OF ANITA BRYANT, WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT THAT TIME AND HER ROLE IN UNITING

THE COMMUNITY IN SOUTH FLORIDA?
A: I was actually in high school in Miami dur-
ing the Anita Bryant days. My coming-out was made much more stressful because during that very vulnerable time I heard all of the horrible things she was saying, and I knew I was not one of “those people”. Essentially, this was a galvanizing point for the community. But more than Anita Bryant, it was AIDS that really united the community and made a huge difference in the movement and how we are perceived today. One of the things that I am the most proud of in the work that I have done over the many, many years, is that my niece was able to come out at 14 with the full love and support of her

shoulder to shoulder with us. 3- Invest deeply in building our base of supporters and volunteers in preparation for the 2018 Governor’s race and midterms and expand the PAC to be a well-resourced, even more inluential political player by 2018.There is a very different electoral mood in our state and country following the November elections. This gives us hope that Democrats can overcome their challenge of low turnout in the 2018 midterm elections. 4- Expand our safe schools work, made all the more urgent by the post-election spike in campus-based harassment. We consider the work we are doing to create safe and welcoming schools for LGBT youth to be our most important program with the greatest long range impact. Florida has 2.9 million public school students. In just her irst 4 months at Equality Florida our new Safe Schools Director, De Palazzo, has already provided intensive LGBT sensitivity training to nearly 2,000 school principals and district leaders. 5- Link arms in these dangerous times even more intentionally with coalition partners. If the 2016 elections taught us anything it is that we are all in this together. Our work has always been intersectional - because LGBT people include every constituency: women, people of color, people with disabilities, etc. Q: WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THIS YEAR’S EQUALITY FLORIDA MIAMI GALA? A: The event will take place at Nobu Hotel Eden Rock, beautiful event space in Miami Beach. The event will feature sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and live music. One of the highlights of the evening is the State of the State Address presented by Nadine Smith, in which she will present the landmark achievements of the past year and Score features outline the work that is yet to be done. family and community. That was something that I was not able to do but it is clear that the work that is happened since the 70s made it possible Q: WHO IN THE COMMUNITY DO YOU LOOK TO AS A ROLE MODEL? A: If I were to only choose one, it would have to be Ruth Shack. I have always said when I grow up I want to be Ruth Shack. She was the one who irst got the Human Rights Ordinance passed in Miami in 1977. Even though it was not popular at the time she pursued it because it was the right thing to do. It was in response to this that Anita Bryant began her campaign. Ruth continues to be my role model as she has made our community a better place to live for so many reasons. Q: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE PLATFORMS THAT EQUALITY FLORIDA IS WORKING ON TO CONTINUE TO WORK TOWARDS FULL EQUALITY FOR ALL LGBT FLORIDIANS? A: Equality Florida has ive priorities for 2017. Here is just a little more about what we are working on. 1- Stop the passage of anti-LGBT legislation. The 2016 election has emboldened our opposition and stopping bad things from happening is our #1 priority this year. Since we formed in 1997 we have blocked or neutralized every piece of anti-LGBT legislation we’ve faced but this year will test our record. One of the worst bills we’ve ever seen has just been iled - HB17. If passed this bill would block the passage of all future local LGBT non-discrimination protections and repeal every single existing LGBT non-discrimination protection in the state by 2020. 2- Push forward anti-discrimination legislation. In spite of these threats we continue to make progress towards banning discrimination with sexy based on sexual orientation and gender Adult Video Star statewide. The recent identity and expression victory in passing the Jacksonville Human Rights Ordinance is HUGE and protects 1 million more Floridians bringing us to over 60% of the state now protected. Equality Florida has had full time staff in Jacksonville since 2012 when the ordinance was defeated 2-17. This week it passed 12-6 with over 200 faith leaders and 700 businesses standing

Local Landmark Buildings and Commercial Properties Throughout the Miami will be lit in Rainbow-Colored Lights for Miami Beach Gay Pride Miami Beach Gay Pride, presented by Celebrity Cruises, will pay tribute to the victims, families and friends of the PULSE Nightclub shooting by orchestrating “Pride Lights the Night” where buildings throughout the greater Miami area will light up awash in the colors of the Pride rainbow flag. Properties can also participate by flying the rainbow flag on the exterior of their structures. “Pride Lights the Night” will take place after sunsets on April 7, 8 and 9, with all of the buildings participating Saturday night. Miami Beach Gay Pride board member Scott Bader told Hotspots “The Pride Board discussed in length what to do for a PULSE Tribute and while thinking about it, I came up with the idea of lighting buildings symbolic of a night light of a child. A night light is a symbol of safety from the darkness that many of us use in childhood, and light can have such a positive spiritual meaning that I thought it would be wonderful. In essence they will be watching over us at night during Pride, keeping us safe.” Pride's board chairman Mark Fernandes added “There won't be a neighbor or a stranger who won't be aware of this tribute and be touched by this showing of unity.”
66 | Hotspots.LGBT
Committed to participate in “Pride Lights the Night” are a diverse collection of landmark buildings and commercial properties including: Miami Tower, American Airlines Arena, Miami Beach City Hall, Miami Beach Old City Hall, Freedom Tower, Wolfsonian-Florida International University, New World Center, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and InterContinental Miami, among many others. The plan is to have 49 structures lit in rainbow colors to symbolize each of the lives that were lost in the Pulse massacre. They are still soliciting help from buildings to get the desired 49 lit up. Miami Beach Gay Pride has set up a page for more information including an interactive map that will show exactly what buildings will be lit. They plan to have official photographs of each building and they are even working with the US Coast Guard to help coordinate areal pictures from a Helicopter. For more information on “Pride Lights the Night,” to register a property to participate, or to see the interactive map of committed buildings, visit miamibeachgaypride.com/pulse or call Scott Bader, Pride's board secretary at 305-673-4440.

Jimmy Kimmel
By Billy Masters
I've known Matt SO long. When I first met Matt, I was the fat one!" -Jimmy Kimmel reveals his history with Matt Damon during his Academy Awards monologue. OH MY GOD! You write a column, you send it off to the proofers, and then everything changes in a matter of seconds. I'd love to blame crazy Faye Dunaway and doddering Warren Beatty. But apparently they were given an envelope that said, "Best Actress - Emma Stone for La La Land". Warren didn't know what to do, he looked at Faye (not known for being fast on her feet), and she said, "La La Land". Everyone from that film is giving speeches, my column is done, and - oh, wait - Jimmy Kimmel comes out to say there was a mistake. Warren explains what happened and the Best Picture is really "Moonlight". Meanwhile, where the f*ck is Faye? 86 | Hotspots.LGBT
I have a few other Oscar observations. I found Jimmy Kimmel quite entertaining. I loved seeing Shirley MacLaine rock out to Justin Timberlake. Who knew Caitlyn Jenner had anything to do with the OJ documentary? I could watch Meryl Streep eat Junior Mints all day. You know Jennifer Aniston wants her sunglasses back. I'm SO glad Zsa Zsa made the "In Memoriam" cut although I'm sure someone wanted to put quotes around the term "actress". Honorary Oscar winner Lynn Stalmaster was the first casting director to pass on me. That didn't stop me from making a pass on his son, Lincoln. Due to sealed court documents, I can't say
anything more - except when they call it a "gag order", they ain't kidding! Speaking of Caitlyn, she just came out against her boyfriend, the POTUS. She took umbrage at the dropping of federal protection for transgender students to use the bathroom of their gender identification in public schools. The feds claim that those matters should be decided by the states. But Cait still has hope. "And you can still fix it. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me." And then she gave the president a little wink. I'm not going to get political with you. But I do want to take
Here's some good news for those of you who are still devotees of daytime dramas (yes, I'm talking to you, Chris Smith, one of the scenestealing stars of "Bear City 3" which I refuse to see until I watch parts 1 and 2). NBC's last remaining sudser, "Days of Our Lives", has been renewed for its 52nd season. Some people got mad at me when I predicted - sight unseen - that the new TV series "Doubt" would get a
Laverne Cox
swift cancellation. Many felt I should give it a chance. But I trust my instincts. Sure enough, after two episodes, it's see you next Tuesday, Heigl. It's unfortunate that Laverne Cox had to be a part of this, but you hitch your wagon to Katherine Heigl, these things are bound to happen.
Ryan Murphy
a moment and explain what happens when you take a civil liberty and put it in the hands of states- slavery. If somehow states could decide whether to allow slavery or not, Oprah would be running a network from a plantation - wearing shackles. You might like to think that nobody in their right mind would vote to bring back slavery. But you'd be wrong. That's why civil liberties are determined on a national level so that an old black woman who wants to sit anywhere on a bus in one state doesn't have to sit in the back in another; so that people of different races or even sexes won't be considered married in one state and living in sin in another; and so that someone who wants to pee in the bathroom of the gender they identify with in one state won't get arrested for indecent exposure in another. It's that simple.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you've already heard about "Feud", Ryan Murphy's six-part series about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford making "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane". The series is based in part on the book "The Divine Feud" by Shaun Considine and a script called "Best Actress" written by Michael Zam and Jaffe Cohen, best known for his work as one of the Funny Gay Males comedy troupe. The original script was written about a decade ago and was optioned by a few people including Ryan Murphy, who at one time hoped to make it into a film. One actress heavily campaigned for a part. And that actress is drum roll please - Faye Dunaway! Yes, 25 years after she played Crawford in "Mommie Dearest", Dunaway wanted to reprise the role. The obvious question is why? After all, she regularly credits "Mommie" for ruining her film career. And that's why she wanted to tackle the role again - to prove that the problem wasn't her skills as an actress. No, it was the fault of the script, the director, the editors, the producers, and possibly the craft service people. The fact that nobody seriously considered her is all the more tragic, because I bet she would have been AMAZING.
When Faye Dunaway is in the news again, it's definitely time to end yet another column. Hmmm - maybe she planned this. After all, who is everyone talking about? Faye Dunaway. And this is now an Oscar clip which will be replayed for decades to come. It will certainly live in infamy on www.BillyMasters.com - the site that has a long memory (among other things). If you have a question for me, send it along to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before Faye and Warren take part in another Oscar ceremony - aside from the inevitable "In Memoriam" sequence! So, until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

Honduras is located in Central America and has borders with Guatemala to the north, Nicaragua to the south, and El Salvador to the west. Honduras gained independence from Spain on September 15, 1821 when the Act of Independence of Central America was signed and the small nation formed part of the first Empire of Mexico. In 1823, after the fall of the
Mexican Empire, Honduras was part of the United Provinces of Central America. Honduras became totally independent in 1838. Honduras is divided into 18 provinces including its capital Tegucigalpa. It has a population of 8.6 million and 90 percent of the country's inhabitants are mestizos. The Honduran community is distinguished the quality its people, they are known for
their amazing humility. They have a special place for the LGBT community, but samesex marriage in Honduras is not legalized. The economy of Honduras is one of the strongest in Central America, especially in recent years. It is growing rapidly - more than seven percent a year. But, there are some studies that say unemployment is still very high in Honduras, putting it at more than 25 percent or 1.2 million unemployed people. If you are thinking about tourist destinations, Honduras should be one of the first on your list if you are a daring traveler. After a few years of violence and disorder, things are getting better there, but tourists should be cautious. If you are careful in the cities, it is a beautiful country that is also
much more economical than the other countries of Central America. Honduras has many places that are worthy of the admiration of the whole world. Among the best known are the Cayos Cochinos, the ruins of Copán, and the Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve. The Cayos Cochinos are one of the natural riches of Central America. This group of islands, that stand out for their beautiful Caribbean setting, are formed by two small main islands: Cayo Menor and Cayo Mayor, and 13 smaller keys of coral origin. The islands are especially charming and filled with wonder. Don´t miss the amazing coral reefs and endless beaches of white sand, many of them almost virgin. The Ruins of Copan is one of the most fascinating

tourist places in Honduras. It is an ancient capital of a Mayan kingdom. Today the ruins have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. They allow you to go back in time to appreciate what was its splendor as you journey through palaces, pyramids, squares, and other monuments. There are also two museums located in the park, which complement the experience of discovering the Mayan world. The Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve is a huge natural reserve that has also been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Comprising a mountainous territory that slopes down to the Caribbean coast, the reserve holds one of the last vestiges of tropical rainforest in Central America. The Reserve is home to both an extraordinary biodiversity of flora and fauna and indigenous communities that keep their old customs alive. In 2012 "Ciudad Blanca" was discovered among its leafy forest. The discovery revolutionized the world's archaeological community, it is assumed to be three times larger than the Copán Ruins. Unfortunately, it will be many years before the area is open to tourism. Honduras stands out for its variety of traditional dishes. Among the most recognized is the rich and exquisite, internationally famous, snail soup. Other typical dishes are coyoles in honey and soups of mondongo and crabs that are traditional in the country´s islands.

NEED WOOD
By Woody Miller
WIDE
RECEIVER
H
ey Woody! I have a comment on the guy who entrapped his supposedly monogamous lover (he downloaded pics, posed as a trick and met him at a Starbucks). If I were your man and you set me up like that I’d kick you to the curb so fast you wouldn’t even have time to get your coffee in a To Go cup. He messed up, yeah, but he didn’t viciously perpetrate a sneak-attack from behind! I have an ex who, despite my being faithful for five years, continually accused me of infidelity, to the point where he would dream, literally *dream*, I was cheating on him and believe it! Goes to show you the insecurity people have. So don’t be thinking that suspicion automatically means guilt. — Canned his a$$
y
Dear Canned: You bring up a good point. Most of us treat the suspicion of infidelity as fact when it could be our own insecurity. But listen, you were going out with a nut. The rest of us have to contend with some realities about gay life. Namely, that we live in a culture where monogamy means not having more than one man in bed at the same time. If you suspect that your boyfriend is playing “hide the hambone” with someone else here’s what you need to do: Bring it up in a way that isn’t accusatory. Now there’s a good way of doing it and a bad way. The good way: “I’m feeling a little insecure about our commitment to each other. I need some reassurance that
the things I’m seeing aren’t clues that you’ve changed your mind about our commitment to each other.” The bad way:“I know you’re cheating on me, you lying bastard. Confess or I’ll kill your cat.” Hey, woody! Can taking a huge guy cause any permanent injury? -- Wondering Dear Wondering: Tell me something. Are you this charming when you’re hitting on people? A huge penis inserted into a small opening has the potential for causing lots of damage--like torn tissue, potential exposure to HIV and worse, a funny walk. When it comes to bottoming, the key word is “graduate.” Not from high school (although that *is* a good idea), but from small to large. Work your way up to larger penises. If you don’t, you risk tearing the lining of your anus, making you more vulnerable to HIV. And, even when you successfully “graduate” you still have to watch out for keeping the elasticity of your sphincter, lest you spend eternity in Pampers. If I were you I’d look at every big d!ck and think of the warning label on products containing Olestra: “May Cause Anal Leakage.”

In 2007, MJ Horn and Robert Young, the guys who owned 321 Slammers in Los Angeles, decided to open a sister business here in Fort Lauderdale. Since the name worked will in Los Angeles, they kept it and opened the 321 Slammers Fort Lauderdale. John Pradon, who was originally hired as a bartender two weeks after the place opened up, was eventually promoted to assistant manager and then General Manager. After ive years, MJ wanted out of the business so John bought his shares. Two years ago, Robert also wanted out so John bought him out too and became the sole owner. Late last year, in October, he bought the property that the business sits on, and the rest as they say, is history. It was a pleasure to sit down with John, and

General Manager Jason Beals, just a couple weeks before the 10 year anniversary of 321 Slammers. You are originally from Mississippi, what made you move to South Florida? My family was already living in Melbourne Beach and I came down in 2004 to help them rebuild their condo after the hurricane. A year later I moved to Fort Lauderdale.
