What made you and Michal open BeWell MedSpa? We love to work with people. We love great results and we love the autonomy of entrepeunurship. For these reasons and so much more we opened BeWell MedSpa. With a background in healthcare administration and healthcare marketing, combined with Michal's medical background we launched together BeWell MedSpa in 2016. My partner Michal is a master injector,
aesthetics artist and functional medicine expert, as she has been injecting since the age of 18 having been a medic in the Israeli Defense Forces. Michal is a board certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and has spent more than 20 years practicing medicine beginning with her service in the Israeli Defense Forces. Following her military service, Michal attended nursing school at the Hebrew University, Hadasa Hospital in Israel. Soon after, she moved to New York City and completed her Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner degree and a 2 year residency with New York University Medical. Focusing the last fifteen years in the areas of medical aesthetics, functional and integrative medicine, age management and pain she is able to apply a unique and wide range of expertise. Michal is experienced in an array of age management, aesthetic and regenerative medicine techniques providing her with a remarkable ability for comprehensive patient support. Michal's hands-on experience, depth of expertise and proven results show her to be one of the best injector's and a true medical aesthetic artist.

Michal loves to see every patient smile wider and brighter after receiving her specialized care and attention; and that is what drives her to be the very best. At BeWell MedSpa we also have a team of medical aestheticians who perform facials, chemical peels, laser hair removal and body contouring treatments. And a spa manager whose role altogether are to ensure everyone's expectations are always exceeded. Our amazing team has worked with individual clients and hosted corporate events at the medical spa and always strives for excellence and proven results. How do you make sure each client is getting what's best for them? Once scheduling an appointment, clients meet for a free consultation to discuss their goals and from that moment a customized treatment plan is developed with the clients. Induction and maintenance treatments are always planned to ensure desired goals are met and maintained; just like going to the gym it is important to follow-up and stay on your path to your goals -- whether sporadic or more orthodox in your approach, we work
with each client on an individual level. We are also continuously training in order to provide our patients with the most current and effective treatments and credible information that will enable optimum care and results. From lectures, to conferences and new product training Michal and the team are always optimizing proven and predictable treatments, as well as incorporating cutting edge technologies. Make an appointment online, call or email and we will see you soon, when it's most convenient for you, this is our service commitment. Our very own Vice President, Peter Jackson, went there to partake in their services and when I asked him about his experience, he said:
“Any fear I had of getting Botox for the first time melted away when I opened the door to this beautiful space and was greeted by Oren, who put me at ease immediately. But it was the big hug from Michal and her warm personality that turned me into butter. She understood my issue and clearly explained the cosmetic options and solutions. We chose Botox to erase some lines in my forehead. Here's the best part: Michal is a master injector; she is so skilled with injections that I honestly didn't feel a thing. How she accomplishes that is something that demands phenomenal skill and experience. BeWell Med Spa has earned its reputation as one of the very best in Wilton manors, Fort Lauderdale. Since then she has been recording, traveling the world and filmed a reality TV show called, “Scared Famous,” which will premiere on VH1 on Monday, October 23rd at 9p.m. Legendary rapper Redman is the Master of Scare-a-Monies for 10 of the biggest reality stars as they try to endure gruesome challenges and terrifying scares that pay homage to recent horror hits. Over 2 weeks, these celebrities will move into an eerie estate in Savannah, Georgia, one of America’s 42 | Hotspots.LGBT
most haunted cities, and test their limits for a chance to donate $100,000 to his or her favorite charity. They must rely on alliances, strategy and friendships, but supernatural forces beyond their control may be their true undoing. In addition to Alaska, the Celebrity Reality show contestants include: Don Benjamin, “America’s Next Top Model”; Drita D’Avanzo, “Mob Wives”; Erica Mena, “Love & Hip Hop: New York”; Eva Marcille, “America’s Next Top Model”; Miss Nikki Baby “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood”; Safaree, “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood”; Sky, “Black Ink Crew: New York”; Tiffany “New York” Pollard, “I Love NY”; and Yung Joc, “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
I thought this would be a good time to sit down with Alaska and catch up.
What did you do with the $100,000 (or $50,000 after taxes)? I have been spending it $1 at a time at the 99 cents store. Plastic table clothes, hefty bags, etc. And I am also spending it on Starbucks as we speak.
How is your recording career going? And is that something you see doing a lot of in the future? It’s going very well. I do feel like I will do it for a while as I just really like it. I love the act of getting in to a studio. It’s like an uncertain shaky scary feeling, because you don’t know what it’s going to be or how it’s going to turn out.
How did the AAA Girls "Access All
Areas" come about and how has the tour been? It all happened a few years ago when American Apparel approached 2 models about doing a campaign: Courtney and Willam. They rethought the idea and decided to add a third girl. I was the third girl...yay! They put us on T shirts and they sold out in a couple weeks. We then went in to do a song, a video, Christmas songs, and now we are doing a tour…It’s been fantastic, I am so grateful.
How did you get cast in “Scared Famous” and tell me about the experience? Honestly, they called me and asked me if I wanted to do it. They didn’t tell me who was going to be in the house or who was hosting. But I like getting scared so I said sure why not. I’m super excited about the show and to see how people respond to it, I think it’s going to be fun to watch.
Did you stay friendly with any of the cast members and who are you the closest with? I would definitely say I am the closest with Eva and Drita who are both very strong amazing women. I am very happy I got to know them.
Who are you closest with from Drag Race? I would probably say Jinkx and Sharon. I always love seeing them whenever we are out.
What are you most thankful for in this world? I am grateful for the people who are there for me when the mask isn’t on. When it’s not about the show or the lights. The people who are there for the squishy awkward person that lives behind Alaska.
What’s ahead for Alaska? Music, the movie, the book, and the mini-series on lifetime. For more information on Alaska, visit Alaskathunderf*ck.com

hether it's knowing the already-established history of her sexuality or recalling that time a man had a very visible erection on stage as she performed, Demi Lovato appreciates Demi-schooled journalists. “Thanks for doing your research,” the 25year-old singer-actress tells me. “I really appreciate and respect that.” Her warm send-off caps our frank exploration of queer topics, including the Disney alum's desire to maintain an air of mystery regarding her own sexual orientation. While promoting her sixth studio album, Tell Me You Love Me, Lovato talked artists who pander to the LGBT community, daddy issues and Mariah Carey, meanwhile thoroughly explaining her mindful decision to remain tight-lipped to the press about the gender of the person she's dating.
penis, when you said yours is bigger than his. It was a joke that I was thinking about saying before I went on because I know that everyone in the audience was totally daydreaming about Nick. Was it even more special to have Nick present the award to you?
It definitely meant something that it was being presented by somebody who has been very, very close to me for almost 10 years of my life, but also, it felt really amazing that I was being awarded by a whole community of people. I wasn't seeking an award. I was just doing what is right. And people should be accepting of the LGBT community. It's a no-brainer for me. So, defending and standing up for the LGBT community is something that I've always been fearless to do because it's just the right thing to do.
You've headlined many Prides and you even filmed your video for 2013's “Really Don't Care” at LA

Because many people will likely not have the opportunity to experience this, what is it like to perform at an NYC gay bar with gay porn playing and a man gyrating on a pole who very clearly has an erection?
(Laughs) You know what, it was very interesting. I wasn't paying much attention to what was going on behind me, but it was definitely a first-time experience... and it will probably be the last. Actually, who knows. It might not be the last!
You weren't paying attention to it? And by “it,” you know what I mean.
I definitely noticed it, but I was trying to perform!
It was being called one of the most cringeworthy stage invasions ever.
Yeah, it was pretty cringeworthy.

Pride. What has been your most proud Pride moment?
I think my most proud Pride moment would be getting the Vanguard Award. It was just amazing. It was just a really good feeling and I was so honored to get that award.
When in your career were you first aware that you had an LGBT following?
I was aware at the very beginning because I came out with a song called “This Is Me” for a movie called Camp Rock (in 2008) and I had gay guys tell me, “This song helped me come out to my family because this song represents who I am.” That was when I was 15, and that was really beautiful to me and really unbelievable and powerful.
You have become a staunch advocate for the gay community. I bet your late, gay grandfather would be really proud of your LGBT activism. I love what you
said about him in 2014 on Trailblazers, a Logo TV special honoring LGBT civil rights pioneers. How did he influence the way you grappled with your own sexuality?
He definitely influenced me a lot. I actually would not like to talk about it just because I feel like – I think I outed him, actually, to some relatives, so it's kind of a sensitive subject.
You didn't know he wasn't out?
No, I had no idea.
How about other queer trailblazers that you've looked up to?
No – you know, I love who I love and I feel like I look at everybody who is outspoken about who they are as an inspiration and that's it.
Your sexuality has been thoroughly dissected by the Internet after you alluded to being open to both genders. I want to give you the opportunity to speak on it as directly as you'd like.
Thank you for the opportunity, but I think I'm gonna pass.
“Cool for the Summer” became an anthem for people in the LGBT community, but AfterEllen, a lesbian pop-culture website, got the impression you were suggesting that same-sex intimacy has to be a secret. Was that message your intent and how would you respond to their feedback?
My intention with the song was just fun and bicuriosity. I think people look at song lyrics – they look too into it. I wish I could tell that website to “chill the fuck out” and “take a break,” because it's just a song. I think we live in a world today where no matter what you do, you're doing something wrong, whether it's cultural appropriation or it's being insensitive to

certain groups of people. We just live in that age where everything we do is wrong and, unfortunately, everyone's looking for a reason to have their voices heard, and sometimes it's not always in the most positive way.
As someone who is an LGBT advocate, is there a reason you choose not to speak openly about your sexuality?
I just feel like everyone's always looking for a headline and they always want their magazine or TV show or whatever to be the one to break what my sexuality is. I feel like it's irrelevant to what my music is all about. I stand up for the things that I believe in and the things that I'm passionate about, but I like to keep my personal life as private as possible when it comes to dating and sexuality and all that stuff just because it has nothing to do with my music. Unfortunately, we live in a world where everyone is trying to get that soundbite and I am purposefully not giving the soundbite. Watch my documentary. Oh? I have a documentary coming out on October 12 (on YouTube called Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated) and I answer a lot of questions in my documentary.
About your sexuality?
Yeah, some about that. Because if ever I want to talk about it, I want it to be on my own terms.
Then can we talk about how the drag queens are about to be practicing every song from this album for their routines? Because you guest judged RuPaul's Drag Race. You know drag. What performance advice do you have for a drag queen who wants to do your new song “Daddy Issues”?
Ohh, I was thinking that would be a fun song for drag! I think a lot of people can relate to the lyrics, so just relate to it and then pour your heart and soul out into it.
Is it important to have daddies on stage?
...I never want my music to be for anyone. I want my music to stand up for them.
54 | Hotspots.LGBT
No, no, no. It's actually coming from the point of view where it's like, “I have daddy issues,” so you don't have to dress as a daddy. I mean, you can if you want! (Laughs)
Do you have a desire to be a gay icon?
If it happens, amazing. I think sometimes people can abuse that opportunity by trying to win over the gay community. It's something that if it happens, amazing, and I'm more than willing to be that for people.
But I don't go out trying to win over a certain community just so I can say that I have that fanbase.
Have some singers tarnished the “gay icon” label?
No. Nobody has tarnished the label, but I've heard people say with certain people they are kind of using the fanbase just to get to that demographic. I never want my music to be for anyone. I want my music to stand up for them.
You don't want to pander is what it seems you're saying.
Yeah. I'll never do that. If the gay community loves my music because they love it, then awesome.
When it comes to gay icons, the Chers, Madonnas and Gagas of the world, which do you most want to share the stage with?
I would love to share the stage with Gaga and Cher. I'd love to share the stage with RuPaul as well! I kind of did, but I want to perform with him.
How about Mariah?
(Laughs) You're funny.
Even though you called her “nasty” for her J. Lo shade and her response when asked about you was “I don't know her,” you both have GLAAD awards and I want to see you two kiss and make up and record a song together.
I think she's got an incredible voice and, you know, yeah, I'd love to share the stage with her.
As someone who has overcome obstacles to be the sober, confident and empowered woman you are now, what would you tell a young, struggling LGBT person also trying to triumph over similar substance-abuse hurdles and body-image issues?
I think a lot of people drinking and using in the LGBTQ community has to do with finding their identity. The most important thing to know is that you are never going to find your identity through drugs and alcohol, so don't even go there. You are not going to find the answers through drugs and alcohol.

HOT BODIES
Quit Stalling...

he main reason most guys hit the gym is because they want to get strong. During the first year or so of training you will gain strength and size and these noticeable results will keep you psyched and coming back for more and bigger gains. The stress you place upon your body, the hormonal changes that occur and the rush you get from working out will keep you motivated. But inevitably your body will adapt to the increased activity until you reach what is known as a plateau. It happens to every athlete, bodybuilder and fitness enthusiast. Here are a few things you can do to overcome those frustrating stalling periods.
78 | Hotspots.LGBT
First, have a plan. Going to the gym can be fun, at first. But like every serious activity in life, you must have a blueprint, a plan for your fitness training if you're going to succeed and secure gains. Discern which days you're going to work out and schedule gym time into your day like conference calls, business meetings and doctor's appointments. Research and study workout programs on line. Keep a journal of your workouts. Take measurements- body fat%, BMI, and girth measurements- initially and every 2-3 months to chart progress. Take an honest look at your body and lifestyle and set goals for yourself. Train to achieve those goals, great goals, your goals!
Second, make sure to include important multi-joint movements in your training sessions. Here I'm referring to squats, deadlifts, military presses and flat bench presses. Performing these or some variation of these exercises safely and with a challenging weight, you can stimulate muscle growth, increase firing rate of muscles, and increase testosterone and growth hormone in your body. More than likely you'll cut some extra body fat as well!
Third, make sure to work at the things you're not fond of and you'll set yourself apart from the crowd. Ever notice those big guys who strut around on pencil legs with super developed upper bodies? Don't be one of them. Make sure and work out each muscle group of the body using exercises, movements, and stretches that will help you achieve a strong, symmetrical physique. Don't be afraid to train a little harder and a little extra those muscle groups that lag behind. Fourth, don't forget to rest. Muscles grow bigger and stronger not when you're pounding them in the gym, but when you give them time to rest and recover. Don't be afraid to take a day or two off from the gym each week! Fifth, be mindful of your nutrition, especially your protein intake if you want to grow and get stronger. Whether you're building muscle, cutting fat, or both, you need the proper nutrition to help reshape, grow and sculpt your body.

h, religious freedom. That call to arms for conservative Christians who believe that they live in some Bizzaro Land version of America where they are persecuted for their beliefs. And so, in the name of religious freedom, Jeff Sessions has issued guidance that says ladies ain’t get no free birth control anymore. Because if you do a survey of American women almost all of them are going to say, “I hate birth control and want to get pregnant as many times as my lawfully wedded husband wants to climb on top of me, thank you very much.” After all, only whores use birth control. And so employers who religiously object to their female employees havin’ whore sex don’t have to include birth control coverage. Also in the name of religious freedom, the the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) guidance memo tells federal agencies about how to reign in those LGBTQ sinner types. Especially if some lesbos want you to bake a cake for their wedding you can shout with confidence, “I only frost for Jesus!” According to Buzz Feed, “The policy does not create new law, but rather interprets how the government should construe the Constitution and existing federal law.” In other words, the policy basically erases LGBTQ people from federal protections. Keep in mind that LGBTQ people are not protected from discrimination by law in many states. So this is a particularly low blow. The memo outlines 20 principles of religious liberty. One of my favorites is #12: “RFRA does not permit the federal government to second-guess the reasonableness of a religious belief. RFRA applies to all sincerely held religious beliefs, whether or not central to, or mandated by, a particular religious organization or tradition.” In other words, you can literally just say, “Because Jesus” as your excuse for any discrimination you want to get away with. “The Trump-Pence administration launched an all-out assault on LGBTQ people, women, and other minority communities

JEFF SESSIONS by unleashing a sweeping license to discriminate,” HRC President Chad Griffin said in a statement. I often feel like I’m in a LGBTQ rights video game and every time I advance a level I save my game. But whenever I turn it back on again all of my saved data is gone and I find myself yelling, “Damn it, I already finished this level!” The Sessions memo comes as the Supreme Court is getting ready to hear a case about a baker refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple. Sessions has filed a brief with the court in favor of the anti-gay baker, just in case there was any confusion about what side he’s on. Bringing that case is the Alliance Defending Freedom, which is a rabidly antiLGBTQ group. No doubt the Sessions memo was as much a love letter to ADF as it was a f*ck you to LGBTQ people. Sessions also declared that transgender people are not covered by antidiscrimination protections under Title VII. The Obama administration had declared the opposite. Make no mistake that dismantling any and all gains made under Obama is the number one goal of Sessions and the rest of the Trump Pence administration. This follows her public outcry about the banning of transgender service members serving in the military and President address last week to a gathering organized by the Family Research Council, a prominent anti-LGBT group. “I was hoping for a lot better than this,” Jenner told Los Angeles TV station KABC. “And I was somewhat optimistic and I thought this guy is going to be okay. He has totally, totally disappointed me.” Earlier this year Jenner famously used Twitter to send a message to President Trump to “call me.” NO CALL: Former Trump advocate Caitlyn Jenner. Trump did not call her.
TRUMP ‘HONORED AND THRILLED’ TO ADDRESS ANTI-LGBT GROUP
P
resident Donald Trump last week became the first sitting president to address a prominent anti-LGBT group of evangelical conservatives considered a hate group by some organizations. Trump declared before the gathering of the Values Voter Summit, organized by the Family Research Council, that he was “honored and thrilled” to address them. Attendees were handed tote bags that included a flyer promoting an “important new book” entitled The Hazards of Homosexuality. “The sexual revolution and mainstreaming of homosexuality have created a public health crisis affecting us all,” the flyer read, alleging this is a “disproportionate incidence of disease in the GLB community.”

THAT WAS THEN... On the campaign trail, then candidate Trump promised to be “the best ever” for LGBT rights.
Mississippi school yanks Pulitzer prize novel that addresses racism “It makes people uncomfortable” The late Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, which depicts racism in an Alabama town, has been yanked from the curriculum in a Mississippi school district because “it makes people uncomfortable,” according to Kenny Holloway, the vice principal of the school board. The novel, published in 1960, contains the famous lines, “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” The novel became a screenplay starring Gregory Peck who played the role of Atticus Finch, a white lawyer who defends a black man in court. The novel serves to impart lessons of empathy.
Get married like a Celebrity!
Now same-sex couples, too, can be legally married at sea
M Celebrity Cruises, long recognized as a supporter of LGBT rights, is the first major cruise line to offer same-sex weddings.
iami-based cruise line Celebrity Cruises is now performing legal same-sex marriages at sea – thanks to landmark legislation in Malta, where the line’s fleet is registered. Malta’s parliament amended (with a vote of 66 to 1) the declaration in civil ceremonies, replacing “you are now husband and wife” to “you are now spouses.” That means the cruise line’s captains can now legally officiate same-sex marriages in international waters. While visiting Orlando, you would be remiss to skip the theme parks, but be prepared for long lines, even in the summer when temps swell to near 100 degrees. From water

Where to go If you regularly go to Orlando, then you have probably already caught all of the new(ish) attractions at the Disney Parks. Since purchasing the Star Wars franchise, Disney has begun to make Hollywood Studios their Star Wars hub. The Star Tours ride is an awesome 3D experience that is way better than the average 3D ride. I asked one of the workers about it when I was there a few weeks ago and she told me that the ride's film is broken up into 3 segments and each segment has 3 options. Each ride is randomly assigned different segments making the experience different each time. In July, Disney announced more than $1 Billion in upgrades to Walt Disney World in Orlando,

With recent additions like the Hogwarts Express train and Diagon Alley area of Universal Studios and Skull Island Reign of Kong is a 3D spectacular that the company describes as “the multi-sensory, multidimensional ride for your life”, Universal is doing their level best to match the magic that Disney brings to Orlando. NEED WOOD

GENDER ROLES? HOW QUAINT!
H
ey Woody! I’ve always been the raging top and my boyfriend the insatiable bottom. But lately he’s been bugging me to reverse our banging sessions. He wants to bury the bone for a change and I don’t blame him. But here’s the thing. I like my guys a little on the nelly side (I have this dominance thing, what can I say?). It’s not like a purse drops out of my boyfriend’s mouth when he talks but he’s not exactly butch. The thing is I don’t want to be f--ked by someone who isn’t completely masculine. The idea of getting topped by a bottom shuts me down completely. How do I get over this? I know I’m not being fair to my boyfriend. — Topped out
y Dear Topped: Be honest. Sit him down, hold his hand, look him in the eye and say, *“You’re not butch enough to f--k me, dear.”* Next Question. Seriously, you’re buying into all the ugly stereotypes of getting penetrated. You’re not alone; most people do, and the reason stretches back thousands of years. As much as man-on-man sex was accepted in ancient Greece and Rome there were strict rules about anal sex. Namely, that boys, not men, received it. And when they did, it was something to be endured, not enjoyed. Getting f--ked was a rite of passage. Once you became an adult, you were supposed to switch roles and become the penetrator. The Romans even had a word for it: *vir,* a man who could
shtup, but not be shtupped. So while Greeks and Romans celebrated manon-man sex (or more accurately, man-on-boy sex), they only celebrated it if you were a “top.” There was only scorn and social ostracism for “bottoms.” We still live out these ancient and patently false ideas of sex. When was the last time you heard something derogatory about being a “top?” But you always hear disparaging things about being a “bottom” (*“Oh, there’s nothing in this town but bottoms,” “He’s nothing but a big bottom).”* You don’t believe you can get f--ked and be the man society expects you to be? Talk to my friend who loves to get f--ked; it’s really all he does in bed. Know what he does for a living? He’s a professional boxer. Go ahead, dismiss him as “just another bottom,” and see how easily your facial features can be re-arranged. So call me a freak, I don’t believe that “bottoms” are sissies and that getting f--ked by someone less masculine makes you less masculine. Unless they’re dating me, I never advise people to perform sexual acts against their will. But at the same time, it strikes me as unfair that you’re not willing to do for your boyfriend what he’s doing for you. You’ve got two competing values here: Your right not to do anything you feel uncomfortable doing and your obligation to keep your partner sexually satisfied. You can do both. Here’s how: Your current interpretation is that you’re going to be topped by a bottom. A better one might be, “I have the opportunity to know the man I love in an entirely new way.” Ask yourself what needs to happen to make it acceptable. Like, tell your boyfriend you have a fantasy about a leather-clad cowboy dominating you. In other words, butch him up without hurting his feelings. Now, go, get f--ked. You big nelly bottom.
