The number of unaccompanied, homeless LGBTQ youth is ever growing, a doubling in the past decade according to national data. Trans youth specifically suffer longer periods of homelessness and greater barriers to accessing aid. Several homeless-youth surveys, from Miami to Los Angeles, identify the primary reasons for why our trans youth are increasingly becoming homeless, including 67.1 percent “forced out by parents/ran away,” 16.5 percent “family issues,” and 4.9 percent “family poverty/lack of affordable housing.” Journalist STEVE ROTHAUS on Facebook.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Godspell, Academy Awardwinner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman (“My So Called Life,” “Once And Again” and “thirtysomething”), Wicked is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Vagina Monologues) and features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Aida, The Who's Tommy, How To Succeed…). The musical is based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire. Wicked, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Did you consider not coming back, and if so what made you come back? It was iconic and I knew for sure I wanted to be a part of it. I was so excited to be thought of as there are so many amazing queens that have been a part of Drag Race. To be considered was such a huge compliment!
How did you prepare differently for all stars than you did the irst time you were on the show? The irst time I didn't have many connections in the drag community for costumes, wigs, etc. Since then, I built up a network of incredible creators that helped me with “All Stars.”
Is there anything I didn't ask you that you want to talk about? One of the reasons I wanted to go back to Drag Race was to build my platform, and to share stories and news of some of the terrible things that are happening in the queer communities overseas. I am very happy and grateful to RPDR for giving me the platform to raise awareness.

DAN LEVY Is Doing Us All a Big Favor Out “Schitt's Creek” co-creator talks show's beloved gay relationship and living more like his free-spirited pansexual character ||||||| By Chris Azzopardi Next time you see Dan Levy, thank him. Thank him for “Schitt's Creek”, his superbingeable comedic riff on a once-af luent family forced to live like ish out of Perrier in the podunk Canadian town the show is named after. And thank him, he who created and developed the series, which premiered in 2015 on Pop TV (and can also be seen on Net lix), for willfully remaining single only to craft and deliver more rib-tickling bons mots for the show's fourth – and most affectionate – season. Thank him again while you're at it, because the 34-year-old former MTV Canada co-host has somehow found the time to create yet another queer-themed project that he tells me is in the works. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, for now we have David Rose (Levy), replete with his color-averse apparel and drop-crotch pants, general distaste for people, and his animated and generally disgusted facial contortions worn like memes in the making. Johnny, David's perpetually on-edge father, is played by real-life father and “American Pie” and “Best in Show” actor Eugene Levy, who also serves as the comedy's co-creator. Together they've developed both a comedic knockout and a rich what-if satire of Kardashian life. “Schitt's Creek” also stars Catherine O'Hara, as the deliciously histrionic wig-loving family matriarch and former soap star Moira, and Annie Murphy as Alexis, the self-involved-but-somehow-sweet
daughter who once argued with David over who would get murdered irst in their sketchy new motel digs. Via an allegorical wine conversation with hotel co-owner Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire) presented in the show's irst season, “Schitt's Creek” expertly tackled David's pansexuality (“I do drink red wine, but I also drink white wine; I like the wine, not the label”). Then there was a throuple, and now there's Patrick (Noah Reid), a yin-yang match so absolutely perfect for David – notice all the I think I've always been excited about fashion, so to be ways he challenges David, especially with the able to style the show with our costume designer potential morti ication of really just scratches that itch for me.” this season's open-mic night at the store they two queer men? co-own together – you'd be heartbroken if they You know, all I really can do is think back to didn't last. a time when I didn't think being myself was Read on as Levy freewheeled his way through our conversation about living vicariously through ever going to be a possibility. It's such a full circle moment for me right now to be writing David and Patrick's loving relationship, opening this love story for them and to look back at it the minds of parents with queer kids, and how David has in luenced him to “to try to live my life and just remember that there was a time in my life when I honestly didn't think that more out loud.” would be a possibility for myself. So, it's incredible. And to have the network support As a gay man, how personally rewarding is it to really be able to tell the kinds of stories that to you to have one of the healthiest, most normal relationships on the show be between I want to tell with it and not have any interference is rare and a privilege. When you have that kind of freedom, there's also a certain level of responsibility to try and tell the most authentic story you possibly can. I think with these two characters I didn't want to reduce it to caricature. I didn't want it to be some kind of lesson that we're trying to ram down someone's throat. It was really about presenting a story of two people who have found love with each other.
Hotspots.LGBT | 43
You've made very deliberate choices regarding the treatment of David's sexuality both as it relates to him but also as it relates to the other people in his life. Personally, I never learn when someone is trying to teach me something. I learn through experience, and presenting complete tolerance and acceptance across the board is the only scenario that should be existing right now. I want to show this without trying to make it feel like an educational lesson for people who don't quite understand it. The letters that I've gotten from families who are more conservative leaning and who have never quite understood the ight – to have letters from these people explaining that they've never had a point of entry before, that was the most amazing and eye-opening part of this whole conversation. In a way, it opened my eyes to understandin g them a little bit better and understandin g that sometimes I look at it with “how can I not see the bigotry?” but at the same time, if people do not know what they do not know, all you can try to do is guide them with a gentle hand.
You guided Larry King with a gentle hand last year when you were on “Larry King Now” to talk about the show. It was really interesting to watch the dynamic between you and Larry as you explained pansexuality to him – that must've opened up a lot of eyes who hadn't even heard the word “pansexual.” It's about having conversations. We should have more of them. Talk to people instead of coming at things with bats swinging – and don't get me wrong, there are times when that is absolutely necessary. But I think when it comes to the world of sexuality, which is ever-changing, try to have a conversation with people and lead them
44 | Hotspots.LGBT
down the path of acceptance by way of setting an example. I've had great conversations with people on the streets who've come up and told me that when they came out of the closet their parents didn't quite understand them, but by watching the show and seeing how accepting Johnny and Moira Rose are to their kids – the fact that it was never a question – allows them to feel safer, allows them to feel like, “Oh, why am I having such a problem with it when these people who I've come to know and love are not asking the same questions that I'm asking? Why am I asking them then?” And it's changed the conversation in their house. You can't ask for a more rewarding takeaway from the experience.
Did you need characters like them when you were younger? It's interesting, because it's still kind of an ongoing conversation on the show in terms of Patrick being fresh out of the closet and exploring what that means. There's fear on either side. And, yes, I grew up knowing that my parents ultimately would not have a problem with it, but when you're going through that and you're internalizing that much fear you get to a point where you ask yourself, “Well, maybe they will have a problem with it; maybe I'm misreading the situation.” There are so many questions that I think we're forced to ask ourselves because we're alone in that process. Which show with queer themes did you gravitate toward most as you were coming into your own? I guess it would be ”Will & Grace”. I think “Will & Grace” really opened up the conversation. “My So-Called Life” affected me
more just because I was such a huge fan of the show. I think we've come a long way, and there's still a long way to go, but all you can really do is seize the opportunities that are given to you and try and make good with the power that TV can offer.
I watched the sixth episode of the new season, “Open Mic,” and it was the irst time that I ugly cried watching the show. In fact, until then, I hadn't cried listening to Tina Turner's “Simply the Best” either. When is the last time you serenaded a man? Never! Because the intention is always to keep them! (Laughs) (That scene) all stems from a conversation I had with a friend of mine who was seeing someone who chose to sing to them and it really just disrupted the whole momentum of their relationship because, unlike Noah who has such a beautiful voice, this person did not, and it just didn't work out in the end. But I knew Noah could sing, and I knew he was a musician going into it, so it was always my intention to somehow ind a way for him to sing. You know, I don't love writing dialogue where people are talking about their feelings. I would much rather bring some fun, interesting and dynamic ways of showing that kind of feeling, and the idea that David would be so off-put and embarrassed by his partner choosing to sing in front of a room full of people – and then to know that Noah has this voice, and that in the end we could use this as a device to really cement them as a couple in ways that I don't think they even expected – was really special. And I had always had this fondness for the lyrics for that song, and for a long time whenever it came on at a bar or something, I would always be the person turning to someone saying, “The lyrics to this song are “really” beautiful.” When you're listening to the Tina Turner version it's just a pop song and people are like, “Yeah, I know, it's ine,” and it's like, “No, no, no – the lyrics are “really” beautiful.” So, when we thought of this idea, it was the "only" option, this idea that Patrick would sort of tease David with a lashy pop song but make it his own.
celebrating Patrick and David's love for each other right along with them. It was our intention from the get-go to never make the town the butt of the joke and to always make the family sort of the joke. We wanted the town to always be this safety net for these people, and for them to always feel safe there.
Well, it gave me lots of hope. Oh, good! That's what we're aiming to do, to be just a bit of a safe place for people for 21 minutes and 50 seconds a week. Where does the line between Dan Levy and David Rose start and end? Uh, there's a big one! It's interesting. Yeah, I would kill for his con idence.
I'd kill for some of his style. Every time I watch him I'm like, “Clearly, I need more black and I need more low.” (Laughs) It's funny, 'cause in promoting the show we talked to someone who was going through some of the out its and it was sort of a “yay or nay?” situation and it came upon the out it that we wear when we're doing the number (in episode three, “Asbestos Fest”). I'm in, like, black with a baby's breath sweater with matching pants and the person decided to “nay” the out it and I had to gently tell her that those pants were actually my own from home (laughs). Generally speaking, I wouldn't wear it with a matching top, but I did wear it at one point in my real life. I think I've always been excited about fashion, so to be able to style the show with our costume designer really just scratches that itch for me. As a character, though, I don't think we're alike. I
What is so lovely about that scene is it really subverts stereotypes about small town small-mindedness – the townies are there, and they're

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, recognized by U.S. Congress as a vital
American “Cultural Ambassador to the World, will inspire, entertain and electrify audiences from Thursday, February 22 through Sunday, February 25 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. highly anticipated Miami engagement is the only South Florida stop on the company's 21city North American tour. Jamar Roberts, along with 31 of Ailey's renowned dancers, will captivate audiences during five richly diverse programs featuring new works and company premieres by the world's most celebrated dance-makers, and Alvin Ailey's perennial crowd-pleasing
masterpiece Revelations. Two of their dancers: Michael McBride and Samuel Roberts both joined Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in June 2009, but they were at very different points in their careers: McBride was just finishing his junior year in the Ailey/Fordham BFA program, while Roberts was already 10 years into his career. They were paired as roommates on their first domestic tour with the company, yet they rarely spent time together, leading very separate social lives during their time off. It wasn't until two years later that they started to bond over the TV show Brothers and Sisters. Although one thing led to the next, the two kept their romantic relationship private from the company for another year. But it's definitely not a secret anymore. When the couple sat down for dinner at their favorite local restaurant in January 2016, McBride had no idea what was in store. For almost a year, Roberts had plotted and choreographed a surprise proposal with over 40 friends and family, a worldclass flash mob with dancers from both Ailey and Paul Taylor Dance Company. It was a pleasure to sit down with Michael and Samuel for this Hotspots exclusive interview:
At what Age did you begin dancing? Samuel – I began dancing in the womb is what my mother told me, but I took my first official dance class at the age of 10. However, it was a family tradition that our Saturday evenings be spent listening to
music while mom taught us the social dances of the 50's & 60's (ie. Lindy Hop, Jitter Bug, Swing etc...) We laughed and danced so hard! Michael - I started dancing (tap and jazz) at age 8 at a local studio down the street from the house I grew up in.
What was your first professional/paid gig? Samuel – Being the only black male dancer in about a 30 mile radius, in the Quakertown area, I almost immediately started getting paid to be in the regional Nutcrackers. I was also in a children's performing group at the same time. It's so much easier for boys/men. Michael - I was an assistant to one of my teachers in high school the summer before I went to college and I taught the “bounding boys” program while in college at the Ailey School. Those were teaching jobs. My first performing job was through Max Luna III a past Ailey dancer and a teacher I had at the Ailey School. I performed in a fundraising concert to raise money for the Philippines.
When did you know dance would be your career? Samuel – I think it was very early on I knew I would be in the Arts & Entertainment Arena, but it wasn't until I attended the Juilliard School Audition that I realized I could be a concert dancer. Michael - I think I've always known that I am a performer at heart and it happens that dance has been my outlet to perform. I did not become serious about dance until college; going to the Ailey School was my first time at a conservatory - training all day, every day. I knew I loved dancing because I don't think you could make it through the program if you didn't love to dance. Long after my body doesn't work I am sure I will have found a new outlet to perform - dance is my outlet now!
Alvin Ailey Dance Company has to be one of the ultimate goals for any dancer. How did it feel when you got the call that you were chosen? Samuel – This may sound cliche, but it is true... Surreal. I knew my life was about to change in ways I could not even imagine! Michael - I cried. HARD. And screamed A LOT. I was at the end of my junior year of college, just happy to be invited to the audition, when Judith Jamison asked “Do you have a problem signing the contract?” I promptly asked while looking around the Hotspots.LGBT | 55
room “Are you for real?” I then made sure that I could still finish my degree before agreeing. I spent my first year in the company finishing my Bachelors of Fine Arts and actually flew home from tour to walk at graduation. It was a dream come true! And has remained an unbelievable experience since day 1. Performing for thousands while traveling all over the world, what could get better than that?
I finally had the pleasure of seeing an Alvin Ailey tour around 2 years ago in Broward, and I was an emotional mess (in a good way) at the end of the show. How emotional is it to dance every day with this company? Samuel – Well, we travel about 6 months out of the year and have 2 NYC seasons. We are also responsible for about 30 ballets during any season. Needless to say, the demands
new physical, mental, and emotional demands and we are always up for a challenge.
When you met each other, what did you think of the other one? Samuel – I thought he was cute. GREEN, but very cute. Michael - I don't actually think we thought anything of each other. We were new coworkers that's about it, at least for me.
At what point did you start developing feelings? Samuel – During a platonic dinner date we had in the UK, shortly after Michael's sister Erica's passing. Michael - It wasn't until much after our work relationship started (summer 2009) that
Samuel Roberts on us are incredibly high. I feel like a lot of that comes out in my dancing. Michael - The history and legacy of Ailey is quite a heavy weight to carry on our shoulders as the dancers of the company, but provides great fulfillment emotionally! The thing that separates Ailey from other companies is the versatility of our repertoire going from classic modern, to contemporary ballet, to hip hop, and anywhere else in between. With that diversity each new ballet/piece provides 56 | Hotspots.LGBT
Samuel and I became closer friends (fall 2010), and then much after that did any romantic feelings develop (fall 2012).
When did you know he was the one? Samuel – I knew he was the one after we had had several large disagreements and he was still there trying to work it out! Michael - Shortly before the proposal I think is when I really knew/decided. We have a unique relationship that developed while we spent most of our time together (living and working together). Our relationship like any
others comes with misunderstandings and disagreements but I think both Samuel and I act out of love first - only wanting the best for the other person. With that I know that we will do everything in our power to make sure our relationship is thriving. Communication is so important and he was a close friend of mine before romantic feelings began so talking about the hard stuff is never that hard.
Tell me 3 words that best describe your fiancé? Samuel – Determined, Resourceful & Devilishly Handsome (I'm sorry, but his cuteness deserves two words)!! Michael - Fervid, Unbridled, Ardent
Have you planned the wedding yet, and if so, do tell the details?
heroes Artistic Director: Mr. Robert Battle and Senior Company member: Mr. Jamar Roberts as well as Revelations, Mr. Ailey's Master Work. Michael - Diversity and Versatility! There is something for everyone. Please be sure to check out Talley Beatty's “Stack Up” and Twyla Tharp's “Golden Section” both pieces are feasts for the eyes and everyone will be sure to leave the theater smiling after seeing us perform them!
For more information on the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater go to: AlvinAiley.org. To purchase tickets for their performances in Miami from Feb 22-25 go to ArshtCenter.org
Michael McBride Samuel – We have a few details: the fall of 2019, Outdoors and the Catskills, NY. After the flash mob, I relinquished all planning responsibilities. This one is all Michael! Michael - We bought an apartment this past summer so a long engagement is following because we will be paying for our wedding ourselves. With that said Fall 2019. Details to come.
What should the South Florida audiences expect from this tour of Alvin Ailey Dance Company? Samuel – They should expect some great new works from two of their own hometown
Founded by Alvin Ailey in 1958, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's inspiring performances honor and enrich the African-American cultural experience and the American modern dance tradition, uniting people of all backgrounds in a celebration of the human spirit through the universal language of dance. Nearly 60 years after its founding, Ailey continues to move forward under the leadership of Robert Battle, revealing time and again why Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is one of the world's most beloved dance companies.

t seems like every second there’s a new story about sexual harassment or abuse. The most recent being Larry Nassar, the USA Gymnastics and Michigan State doctor who sexually assaulted over 150 girls and women over two decades. He was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison. But, by the time this column is published, I’m sure it’ll be eclipsed by another story of sexual abuse and scandal. And we all know who we can blame: the gays. See, if only we hadn’t let gays start getting married maybe we could’ve prevented much of this wave of sexual harassment, abuse and assault. Or so says WorldNetDaily’s Vice President David Kupelian. Kupelian writes in a Jan. 29 column that abortion, out-of-wedlock births, casual sex, STDs and porn “testify to the wholesale abandonment of the Judeo-Christian morality of previous generations. Not to mention the glorification of homosexuality (indeed, its elevation to the status of specially protected class), the redefinition of marriage and the creation of dozens of bizarre new genders that never before existed in all of human history.” “All of human history” is a little too broad to tackle in this column, so I’ll just say that I doubt Kupelian has researched gender identity going back that far. I’d also like to say to the homo Deep State: glory, glory homolujah. “The predictable result of all this wild ‘sexual freedom’?” asks Kupelian. “Confusion, immorality, insecurity, pain, guilt, addiction, mental illness, infidelity, divorce, family breakdown, depression, self-destructive behavior and suicide.” In other words, the radical left dared say that sex is normal and we should maybe not criminalize relationships between consenting adults and ended up ruining the world and making Jesus very sad. Much better, surely, to repress and deny all things sexual in the name of “Judeo-Christian morality.” One of the problems with Kupelian’s
argument — and there are many — is that he claims that “the left” makes no distinction between sex of any kind. “Leftists have been dreaming, scheming, preaching, protesting, demanding, litigating and legislating total sexual freedom – complete sexual anarchy, no rules whatsoever – for decades,” he says. Sexual abuse and assault thrives in darkness. It is not because gays can get married that Larry Nassar sexually assaulted so many young women. It was because, in large part, of the shame and secrecy that surrounds sex, coupled with the power and influence of an abusive man. The same is true for Harvey Weinstein or Trump. Kupelian would like to go back to a time when we didn’t talk about this stuff. And wouldn’t you know it, “don’t talk about it” is strikingly similar to what abusers tell their victims.

HOT BODIES
TRAINING AT HOME IT’S FUN AND HASSLE-FREE by Tom Bonanti
W
hen it comes to gyms and health clubs, South Florida has something for everyone. You may lean toward an extravagantly equipped facility with pools, racquetball courts, juice bar and spa. Or you may prefer a basic, scaled down gym with plenty of clanking iron and lots of serious muscle. Yet recent studies seem to indicate that more people are opting to go solo by training at home. One reason why people chose to train at home is economics. Many modern centers resemble country clubs more than gyms. Amenities and perks are marvelous, but they often come at an extremely high price, especially if all you want is to burn some calories and get a good pump. Many guys find that a few pieces of sturdy, inexpensive equipment set up at home can help them get into shape nicely.
84 | Hotspots.LGBT
A second reason many opt to set up a home gym is the time factor. They're simply too busy to get to a crowded commercial gym 3-4 times a week and wait in line for equipment. By having a home gym you're not shackled by time. You can workout at any hour of the day or night. A third reason why a great many people prefer to train at home is they feel more comfortable in that setting. You can try new exercises you've seen in magazines without feeling self conscious. Alone you can listen to your own music, workout at your own pace, and wear grubby sweats or nothing at all!
There are disadvantages to working out solo. At the top of the list is motivation. There's a lot to be said for the inspiring scenery and hub-bub of activity at commercial gyms. When you're alone, motivation must come from you.
My suggestion is to set goals, write them down, chart your progress‌it's almost like being your own personal trainer! Safety is a concern for anyone who trains alone. Since there are no spotters around, some exercises should be avoided or done with moderate weights. The bench press and squat come to mind. Don't even try to max out on these by yourself unless you have a power rack (a simple metal structure with grooves for you to rest the barbell between sets). Now some words about equipment. A power rack is great but, if you can't swing that, a staircase squat rack is the next best thing. You'll need an adjustable bench on which you can do flat and incline benches, a bar, plates, and a couple of sets of dumbbells. Crunches can be done on the floor with your legs elevated over a bench or stability ball.
It's not a good idea to order a piece of equipment out of a catalogue without seeing it and trying it out first in a showroom or gym. Avoid machines that have cables or chain links. Eventually they will break and it's tough finding replacement parts. NEED WOOD
A DEPRESSINGLY
DELAYED RELEASE!
H
ey Woody! I haven’t had any problems getting an erection since I’ve been taking Prozac but it takes me forever to c-m. My partner’s patience is about as thin as the condoms I wear and I’m not exactly thrilled either. What can I do? — Pistol-packin’ Poppa Dear Pistol: With simple once-a-day dosing and fewer side effects than older drugs, people are flocking to Prozac and other SSRIs like gay activists to nauseating rainbow merchandise. Like Prozac, activists do a tremendous amount of good, but not without unwanted side effects. One makes you lose your libido, the other your lunch. The first studies of SSRIs showed adverse sexual side effects in less than 10% of patients, but those studies relied on unprompted reporting -- patients who spoke up during a doctor visit or called their doctor on the phone when they noticed sexual problems (which like you, tend toward delayed ejaculation). In more recent studies, doctors specifically asked patients about libido or orgasmic difficulties, and found nearly half of patients on SSRIs experienced them. “Oops,” you can hear the drug companies saying, “Did we say 10% of SSRI users report sexual dysfunction? We meant 50%.” Bulls--t, try 90%. I have rarely talked to anyone on SSRIs who didn’t experience negative effects. Exactly how these drugs interfere with sexual desire isn’t known. Here’s what you can
do to get willie to cough up the goods: • Switch to a non-SSRI anti-depressant, like the tricyclic Elavil. They don’t have as many sexual side effects, but warning, they carry others, like dry mouth and constipation at much higher rates than SSRIs. Pick your poison. • Get off Prozac but stay within the SSRI family. It’s hit or miss which ones give certain people certain side effects, but truthfully, they ALL list some kind of sexual dysfunction. • Stay with Prozac but lower the dose. Warning: Don’t do this without your doctor’s supervision. There’s a right way and a wrong way to do it. Ask him. Or her. • Take a “Drug Holiday.” Say you want to have sex on Saturday (it’s a stretch, I know, but stay with me). Simply stop taking the drug a few days before the blessed event (maybe longer depending on how long your particular drug stays in the bloodstream). It’s sort of like cashing in your Frequent Desire Miles for a free f--k, only you’re actually aiming for the blackout dates. Hey Woody! Why is it that when I go to defecate I always want to linger on the toilet? When I sit down I just don’t want to get up. — Not full of it
Dear Not Full: There really is a physiological reason for it. When you pinch a loaf in the toilet, you stimulate the vagus nerve, which then drops your blood pressure, creating a peaceful feeling. Some people actually pass out on the john because their blood pressure can drop so low. I s--t you not.

If you've been with your partner a while, it can be hard to come up with exciting date ideas. Maybe you're stuck in a dinner-and-a-movie rut – if you're making time to “date” at all – or perhaps you're so active that you've already done “everything”. Or so you think. Relight the fire in your hearts by spending quality time with that ol' gayngsta you call boo with these full-of-fun, new-to-you date nights.
Group Pedacycle
Traditionally a pedacycle refers to any motorized bike, like a moped, but more and more places, like my own town of Asbury Park, are introducing pedacycles built to hold upwards of 15 riders who hop on board to jointly mobilize the vehicle with only their burning leg power. This isn't just a trip around the block, either. Most of these rides have a purpose, like a food or booze tour of an area to get you good and snockered. Great as a justyou-two date if you like meeting other couples, or get your whole squad together for this tipsy cardio workout.

You'll get a hands-on education during a visit to a science center. Places like the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami offer plenty of interactive activities to do with your partner, like kissing underneath the stars in a planetarium, making paper airplanes, petting stingrays and studying the human body. Consider the last one a refresher course.

Huge fan of make-and-take activities over here, and I'm always looking for the next best to-dos. Recently my boyfriend and I participated in Plant Nite – an offshoot of the very popular sip-and-stroke Paint Nites – where we designed our own succulent terrariums. We've also rolled up our sleeves to make candles, blow glass and create DIY projects in the free workshops offered by Home Depot.
