I
n week two of Season 11 of RuPaul's Drag Race, the contestants start out saying goodbye to Soju and then Ru walks in and informs the gurls, that the mini challenge will be stealing the spotlight in a celebrity photo bomb. They have 15 minutes to get into quick drag. The winners were Brooke and Silky, who each received $1,000 Gift Certificate from Fierce Queens. Hollywood is making films celebrating Black Empowerment. For the Maxi challenge the 2 teams (Captained by the winners) will each be starring in an all drag queen cast film. Brooke's team (Nina, Ra'jah, Honey, Shuga, Plastique and Ariel) had the movie “Why It Got To Be Black….Panther?,” and Silky's team (A'keria, Vangie, Mercedes, Yvie, Kahanna and Scarlet) had the movie “Good God Girl, get Out.” The guest judges were Sydelle Noel (Black
Panther) and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live) and the runway look was “Whats Your Zodiac Sign.” IN the end there was a tie for the win to Scarlet and Yvie and they each won a $2,500 gift card to Crème Shop. The bottom 2 were Kahanna and Mercedes and Kahanna Sashayed away.
Q: At what age did drag become an interest and how did you pick your name?
I was 18 when I first stepped into drag. I came up with Khanna because I wanted a name that was exotic, and it sounded Hawaiian. I got my last name form my drag mom, Coco.
Q. Speaking of your mom, she is Ru Paul Royalty, did she give you any advice?
She was very supportive during the whole process and she said to me to be myself and to know there is no one else like me and stay true to that.
Q: How many times did you apply to be on RuPaul's Drag Race? How did it feel when you found out you got chosen?
I auditioned twice; for season 10 and 11. When I got the call it felt super validating and I was very excited about it.
Q: Tell us about your RuPaul's Drag Race experience?
The whole process was a chance for me to learn who I am and to evolve. I took away
growth and how to really elevate my drag. It was an amazing experience. What I got back from the experience is more than I think I would get from a lifetime of doing drag.
Q. Is there something you wish you did different and or is there a certain look you wish we could have all seen? I wish I would have prioritized before I went on the show a little better. It's one of those things that needs your full attention and I wasn't able to do that. My street fighter look was sickening, and I wish I could have shown that.
Q: What's your marital status?
I am single and available for the boys.
Q: Who do you want to win?
I love Silky a lot but if I had to pick one I would pick Yvie, as she has such a good soul and her drag is something we haven't seen before.
Q: Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you. That I am really introverted, and drag has helped me to become outgoing.
Q: What's ahead for Khanna?
Lots of stuff coming up…music videos, etc, and I am very excited about performing around the world. For more information on Kahanna Davenport, go to facebook.com/KahannaMontrese.

Jim Parsonsproduced Special really will be special
Now that Big Bang Theory is winding up its run, Jim Parsons is expanding his reach in the mogul business. After jump-starting Young Sheldon on CBS, he has turned his attention to a sitcom first. It's called Special and it actually is based on the book I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves by Ryan O'Connell, a gay man with cerebral palsy who has also worked as an executive story editor on Will & Grace. The upcoming Netflix series will star O'Connell as a fictionalized version of
Queer cinema's hopes are now pinned on Billy Eichner No pressure, but it would appear that gay viability in mainstream Hollywood filmmaking is now riding on Billy Eichner's shoulders. He will write and star in a Judd Apatow-produced, gay-themed romantic comedy for Universal. Nick Stoller (Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will direct the film that currently has no plot details up for inspection, but here's what's at stake: nothing less than studio support for LGBTQ+ content in mainstream cinema. This will be, if you can believe it, the first major studio film with a queer plot and a queer leading character since Love, Simon,

and the first of its kind pitched at an adult audience since 1997's Kevin Kline-starring, coming out comedy In & Out. Not that we've gone without all these years. Queer indie cinema hasn't stopped cranking out the rom-coms and every other genre of movie, and TV has turned into the place for characters of all genders and races (the studios seemingly only have eyes for gay white men) but this is where the big studios are, and it would be great if Eichner and Apatow knocked this one out of the park so more – and more diverse – stories could get their shot.
himself. The plot revolves around O'Connell rewriting his identity in order to get the life he wants and live well with the body he was born with. O'Connell will not only star, but write and produce the series, too. And it will be the first time a queer person with a physical disability has headlined a sitcom. Look for it

ADAM DEVINE
Life of the Party
Isn't It Romantic star on his thirsty gay following, what straights can learn from gays and being a 'bear cub'
ven now, Adam Devine just wants to dance with some bodies. So, as Josh in Isn't it Romantic, the comedian known for lexing his funny-guy chops in Comedy Central's Workaholics (which he also co-wrote) and ABC's Modern Family, keeps the love strong with Pitch Perfect co-star Rebel Wilson in their new selfaware anti-rom-com. With assists from a satirical gay sidekick (Brandon Scott Jones of NBC's The

Good Place) and Whitney Houston and Madonna musical numbers, the ilm also stars, of course, Liam Hemsworth as the man of everyone's dreams – though, in this case, the unconscious literal one that Wilson's Natalie falls into. During a recent call, Devine spoke about his bear-cub identity, tactfully tackling LGBTQ storylines and the popularity of his penis on gay blogs.

Charming rom-com, Adam, but where's the movie where you end up with the gay sidekick? (Laughs) Maybe that's the sequel.
That's the movie Hollywood needs to make next. Yeah, you might be right.
In your version of that movie, what guy would play the sidekick you fall for? I mean, Liam. If I'm a gay dude, I want the hunk. I'm goin' hunky!
You get to a do a Whitney and Madonna musical number in the movie. Do you know enough gay men to know that these women are gay icons? I do, yeah. I've got a good handful of gay friends and they keep me abreast of what's hot in the gay culture: Whitney, Britney Spears also. We should've done a Britney Spears tribute.
What was your earliest exposure to the LGBTQ community? I guess my cousin came out as gay and I was much younger than him and that was the irst time that I knew anyone who was gay. He came out to the family and then we all knew, and then you'd see him at holidays and stuff and it was cool. You're like, “Oh, I love my cousin, he's the man, and he's a great guy.” It normalized the whole thing.
Do you hear from LGBTQ fans on Twitter? Yeah, I do sometimes. I've been told that I'm a bear cub, so I'm not a full-on bear. I think I'm too
tiny, so I'm a bear cub is what my gay buddies tell me.
You don't seem to have enough body hair to be a bear cub. Well, I'm not afraid to 'scape. I manscape. And I think that's important. I don't want puffy t-shirts, that's the issue. That's the reason I do it.
You don't want hair lumps. Yeah, I don't want weird puffs around my nipples from my hair, so I gotta maintain.
Your role in Game Over, Man!, particularly your full-frontal scene: What did that do for your gay following? (Laughs) I noticed some fan blogs, and I'm like, “Oh, cool, a fan blog, they're spreading the word,” and then I'm just like, “Oh, it's very gay and it's just every naked photo I've ever taken.”
So by fan blog you mean GayTube.com? Yeah, basically. I'm not sure if that's the one, but yes.
If you go to an Adam Devine story on an LGBTQ website, you'll likely ind some guys in the comments crushing on you. One gay commenter noted your role on Modern Family and that your brand of adorkable is one he inds sexy. I love it. How often does that interest from gay men translate to real life? Do guys hit on you?
Hotspots.LGBT | 37
No, I don't think so. I mean, I have a girlfriend. I think it's known that I don't go that way. But, admittedly, gay guys don't care – they swing for the fence. I think straight guys need to learn something from the gay community. They're so afraid!
Is the irst gay thing you did in your professional life an episode of The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman called “Dykes Like Us” or does your pro-gay history go back even further? (Laughs) I guess that is the irst thing!
Tell me about that experience. You know, I don't even remember – I had such a small part on that show. (Creator) Laura (Kightlinger) cast me in it and she was just really cool and great. We ended up casting her as a MILF who uses me for sex on Workaholics and it turns out I can't handle it. It's too much. I can't handle everything she's giving me.
Regarding your role in Pitch Perfect, Rebel once told me: “I think most of the Treblemakers, the boy band, are gay. What about that scene where there's, like, nine dudes in a hot tub … naked? That's totally gay.” Can we explore this? Is it gay for dudes who love a cappella to be in a hot tub 38 | Hotspots.LGBT
together? If they are fucking each other it is. But just to sit in a hot tub, that could go any which way! How does kissing Rebel compare to kissing Zac Efron? Weirdly, same amount of lip gloss. (Laughs) Cherry? Vanilla! Boysenberry! With Rebel it lasts a little longer; with Zac it was one brother kissing another brother, so it wasn't a sensual kiss in any way.
In an episode of Workaholics called “Gayborhood” you and your buddies inadvertently end up in Palm Springs for a Pride party that you don't know is a gay Pride party and you guys pretend to be “threeway gay.” Did that episode get you invited to more gay parties? (Laughs) With Workaholics we really prided ourselves on tackling issues but not really tackling the issues. And we really wanted to make ourselves the butt of every joke. I remember that day this casting director was coming to set and he wanted to meet me. It just so happened to line up on that episode that he was gonna come to set. Everybody was so worried and my manager was worried and
they're like, “We wanna cancel. We wanna do it another day. We don't want him to get the wrong impression of you as an actor,” and I'm like, “It's a funny episode and we're the butt of every joke here. We're the idiots.” And then he came on set and he was like, “This is the funniest episode of television I've ever seen.”
The episode was also well-received by critics. Did that surprise you? It honestly didn't because gay guys are cool as hell and they get it and they understand what's funny and what's offensive. I think you can't be offended by everything and you have to have a sense of humor about things. I wasn't surprised that the gay community has a sense of humor. It meant that we're doing something right and that people understand what we're trying to do, and that we're not just out to be shock comedians, or we're not crude for crude's sake. It all comes from a good place… and I think the shock was that it came from us. Like, people on the outside looking in, you probably wouldn't think that we'd be the guys to deliver that sort of message. But hey, turns out we are! For that episode, how was it determined that you look more like a bottom? Oh, I think in the writers' room that's what happened. (Laughs) I don't know how or why. I think my ass is kind of on and poppin', so that must've been it.
In general, how conscious are you of inding the balance between what can pass as gay humor and what can be perceived as offensive to the LGBTQ community? We all have gay friends, and if you think maybe they could take this the wrong way –
we don't want to alienate anyone or make anyone feel like they're not in on the joke – then you just check in with your gay buds and say, like, “Hey, what do you think of this? Is this funny or is this weird?” People aren't afraid to tell you the truth if you're upfront and honest with them. Jumping back to Isn't It Romantic, I'm glad to see the movie is inclusive and there's a fun gay sidekick, but I'm gonna hold you to this rom-com where you and Liam are romantic leads. (Laughs) I've got the idea for the spinoff!
You can credit me, but also you don't have to because after Love, Simon I just want our community to have more romcoms with lead characters who happen to be gay. I'm with you. Where it's not something that is kept in the closet or that anyone's ashamed about. It's just loud and proud. I like that idea. Miss Coco Peru
Comes to Outlandish Performance Series At Sunshine Cathedral By Scott Holland
this Hotspots exclusive interview.
Were you always an entertainer, even as a child, or when did you get the bug? Yes, I was always an entertainer. I was obsessed with the musical Fiddler on the Roof and apparently had memorized the entire soundtrack by the age of 2. I would act it out for my family and anyone who would watch and so my parents inally took me to see it on Broadway and when it was over I was pouting. My mother asked, “What's wrong? Didn't you enjoy the show?” and I answered, “I've been doing it all wrong!” I've been a perfectionist ever since.

iss Coco Peru, who is no stranger to South Florida audiences, returns with her hit show “Have You Heard?” for one night only at the Sunshine Cathedral (1480 SW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale) on Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m. Coco Peru aka Clinton Leupp has appeared in many ilms and TV shows but is perhaps best known for her role in 1999s “Trick” which also starred “Beverly Hills 90210” alum Tori Spelling. Her very popular “Conversations with Coco,” is a successful internet series that has put Miss Coco in front of legends like Liza Minnelli, Jane Fonda, and Bea Arthur. It was a pleasure to chat with Miss Coco Peru for
When and how was Coco Peru born? In late 80's I was very inspired by the AIDS activism in NYC. I decided I wanted to combine my love of performing with activism and having been shamed for being effeminate my whole life I igured one of the most powerful, radical things I could do at that time was to be an openly gay performer. I then decided to take it a step further and embrace what I had been taught to try and suppress and instead glorify it. I know nowadays it may seem that being an openly gay performer and a drag queen is not that big of a deal, but back then there were not the opportunities or even the visibility so it really was a leap of faith. However, I knew in my heart that it was the right thing to do, not just for myself but for future LGBT people.
in such a Catholic, homophobic country (at that time you had to knock on doors to get into the gay clubs), and I decided that there was a power in having the courage to embrace 100 percent of who you are and that human beings are wired to respect that courage. What would be the ultimate place for you to perform in? Radio City Music Hall with the Rockettes.
Tell us something about the man behind Coco? As you grow older there are so many things along the way that can corrupt your love for what you do, so I always try to remember that boy who entertained his family by singing the entire soundtrack to Fiddler on the Roof. I remember those Aids activists and those that came before me that made my life easier, and I try to get back to why I originally created Coco, so that when the business makes me crazy I will ask myself, “Why did you get into this business?” After 27 years the answer has always been the same, “I want to entertain, to feel a connection with my audience, and I want to leave the world just a little bit better than I how I found it.” It may sound corny, but it's important for me to keep things in focus.
Did you do “other drag” before you created Miss Coco Peru? No. Coco was the irst creation and she immediately resonated with people, because I was telling autobiographical stories and that wasn't something drag queens were doing at that time. I was talking about the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church, I was talking about AIDS, I was talking about my family and growing up gay in the Bronx. I was giving a voice to what a lot of people were feeling and my shows Describe Coco and Clinton in 3 words each? sort of became a big group therapy for the audience Coco – Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered and me. In fact, I used to say, “Let's pretend that this Clinton – Bed Bath and Beyond is a group therapy session, and it my turn to talk.” What's new since we spoke last year? How did you come up with the name and were Well, I'm a year closer to retirement! And I was there any other choices? also on Will and Grace since we last spoke. It My irst boyfriend was Peruvian and we went was so much fun and they even have me together to visit his country and I met a very cute coming back again for the Season Finale which boy named Coco who later came out onstage as this will be on in April. We already ilmed it in glamourous drag queen! I could not believe the December and Matt Bomer is in the episode transformation and I learned that he was very and at the table read he walked over to me and famous in Peru. It got me asking, “How could a gay said, “I have to introduce myself, I'm a HUGE man in drag get famous and be loved and celebrated fan!” Needless to say, I was thrilled! Being on
the show was a great experience, and to have been asked back for a second time this season was a real honor. The entire cast and crew are the best.
What can the Fort Lauderdale audience expect from your show: "Have You Heard"? This a Best-Of show and it's all material that I love performing. For those who remember me from my early days in NYC, they'll even recognize a monologue that I became very well known for back in the early 90's. It's set to opera aria and it's a bitch to do, but it's been fun revisiting it, and since my retirement is on the horizon, this might be the last time I get to perform some of this material. Yes, that's a threat. BE THERE!

is an atoll, an oceanic coral island. It is barely a hundred meters long and is reached after an hour of travel by boat. Some choose to jump into the water before reaching the islet. There, most tour operators offer a snorkel tube and frog legs to discover nearby corals. You can see examples of swordfish and sea horses, among other species. Another thing that makes the Dominican Republic great is its people with remarkable cultural values which give a warm welcome to people with different cultures and customs, the Dominican community very open and supportive which gives a very important place to the community. LGBT on the island itself has progressed in leaps and bounds in recent years marriage in people of the same sex is not legal yet but the LGBT community is at this moment opening steps to achieve this goal. Another of the most important things and highlights Quisquella is its delicious and exquisite cuisine which is a reflection of the influences inherited from the Spanish and Africans. The two most popular recipes on the island are the Dominican flag and the sancocho. The first is based on rice, beans and meat, well-seasoned, while the sancocho is similar to the "Spanish stew". It has cassava, potatoes, plantains and cilantro, among other ingredients. When it's time to drink something refreshing, it's delicious "dying dreaming" is the best option. It is a milkshake made with milk and orange juice. Simple and very delicious.

Easy Beef Empanadas (Pastelillos) INGREDIENTS • Goya Turnover Dough Pkg of 10 Discs (Frozen) • 1 lb. of ground beef • Goya Sofrito (frozen) • 1/3 cup Pimiento Stuffed Spanish Olives (diced) • Small white onion (diced) • 1 tablespoon Dried oregano • 1 tablespoon Cumin • ½ teaspoon Turmeric • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder • 2 packets of Sazon con Achiote • ½ tablespoon Smoked Paprika • 1/3 cup of tomato sauce • 1 tablespoon of sugar • 1 egg beaten (set aside) • Salt & Pepper to taste • Canola Oil
68 | Hotspots.LGBT
DIRECTIONS Take out your dough discs and allow them to thaw. Over medium high heat, begin browning the ground beef. When it is almost done add all the spices, the Sazon, the onion, the olives, the sugar and the tomato sauce. Stir well and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Set aside the meat and allow to cool completely. Separate the dough disc and brush the disc around the edge of each with egg. Spoon 4-5 spoons of the meat mixture onto one side of the dough, and fold over, sealing the edges by pressing them down with a fork (crimping). Then brush the outside of the dough with the egg wash. If you want to fry the empanadas, do so in Canola oil at temperature of 350°F until just golden, or you can lay the empanadas on a lightly oiled cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes until golden. Enjoy!

ou know those online ads that promise, “One weird trick to lose belly fat” next to an image of, say, a crudely drawn banana? Even if you don't know what exactly those ads are trying to communicate, you know not to click them. But not Grandpa Robertson. And he didn't even need to click to know it was trying to trick him into recognizing the “weird way” gays “do sex.” On the Feb. 25 episode of "The 700 Club," racist/homophobic-grandpa-for-hire Pat Robertson discussed the City of Philadelphia's legal dispute with Catholic Social Services, an agency that handles foster placements for children but will not do so for same-sex couples. As that's against Philadelphia's non-discrimination policy, Philadelphia didn't renew the agency's contract. Robertson thinks this is appalling and that it violates the God-given right of Catholic Social Services to discriminate against lesbians and gays. And the very fact that lesbians, gays and their allies have the audacity to complain is proof that they're out for blood. Weird sex blood. Or something. “The incredible thing about the homosexuals is they are willing to destroy lives and destroy the whole fabric of society so long as they and their weird way of doing sex is legitimized,” Robertson said. “They're willing to tear down the entire edifice in order to have the majority of people recognize the way they do sex, that's what it amounts to.” Is it, though? Is “weird sex” really what this all amounts to? Well, of course it is if you don't

think that gays and lesbians are actually human and capable of forming long-term loving relationships and creating safe and nurturing home environments for children. I mean, if when you see a gay man all you see is an anthropomorphic demon penis or when you see a lesbian you just see a vagina monster, then I guess I can see why you'd be afraid to let them take care of kids. But, of course, there's one weird trick to getting over your irrational fear of lesbians and gays: visualize them as fully human. When you meet a gay man, say to yourself, “He's more than just a penis, he's more than just a penis. ...” Then ask yourself why you're so obsessed with gay penises and how maybe, just maybe, that says a lot more about you than him. You could also try engaging someone you believe to be gay or lesbian in conversation. You could say something like, “Hello. How are you?” or “Gee, it sure is cold/hot today!” You can then ask, “Does your life amount to more than doing weird sex?” And they'll likely say, “Yes,” or possibly stop talking to you altogether because, seriously, what is wrong with you? One of the most fascinating parts of Robertson's philosophy is that he argues that gays are destroying all that's good and holy, while at the same time arguing that there are hardly any gays at all. “One percent, ladies and gentleman, get it? One percent of the country, from what we understand, are lesbian, two percent are homosexual. And that is all, and yet that two percent and one percent are taking charge of the rest of us because they're so vocal and so
Robertson thinks this is appalling and that it violates the God-given right of Catholic Social Services to discriminate against lesbians and gays. authoritative and they apparently dominate these legislative bodies.” Got that? Hardly any homos to speak of, but who run the world? Gays. Lesbians and gays are just so darn powerful that they run the whole country, which is why Trump is ... wait a minute. OK, either the gays are doing a very bad job dominating the government, or, and hear me out, maybe Robertson is just making shit up because he's a harmful old man? Robertson continued, “I think if Christians begin to speak out and insist that if some politician goes along with the gay agenda, that they're going to be voted out of office [politicians will] start saying, 'We want to listen to the majority of the people in our society.' Until they do, that small minority is going to be dominating everything we do and every aspect of our lives.”
If only Christians had a voice in this country! If only there was some way Christians could meet in, like, groups. Maybe in special buildings. And they could establish specific days for, like, nationwide celebration. And maybe the whole thing could be tax exempt. I'm not sure what you'd call that or if we'll ever see such a thing realized in America. Perhaps someday Christians will be able to withstand the LGBTQ tyranny that forces everyone to say, “Merry Penis” and “Vagina Bless America.”

HOT BODIES by Tom Bonanti
A
re you one of those rare guys who believe that there is more to life than working out? Well, I've got news for you. You can build muscle, burn fat, and improve overall fitness in less time than you think! In fact, many fitness experts tell us that briefer (less than half an hour, 3 to 6 times a week), higher intensity (heavier weights, less rest between sets) workouts are the way to go if you want maximum results in less time. Shorter, higher intensity workouts are more beneficial for a variety of reasons. Firstly, you work every muscle group
86 | Hotspots.LGBT
The Benefits of Shorter, Higher Intensity Workouts thoroughly with minimal rest between sets. Secondly, during shorter workouts your testosterone levels rise and remain steady. Working out for hours on end can be counterproductive causing testosterone levels to
drop as cortisol (a bad, stressful hormone) and lactic acid levels rise. This can lead to overtraining, fatigue and even injury! For intense, briefer workouts use “giant sets”, a body building concept that employs a multiple number of sets in a minimal amount of time. Giant sets can be performed in several ways. Try at least 5 sets back to back, each on a different muscle group. Use weight that will challenge you for 12 reps and remember to rest only 30 seconds between sets. When performing this routine have everything set before you get started so you can blast through the workout with no interruptions.
Here's a sample workout for upper body. The first exercise of the five-set cycle is the incline dumbbell press for upper and outer chest. After a 30 second rest, move on to the wide grip lat pull down for that “V” shaped back. Seated dumbbell
overhead presses are next for shoulders. Pump up those triceps with a set of 15-20 dips. Finish round one of this monster routine with a set of
standing dumbbell curls for biceps and forearms. After a two-minute rest, perform this giant set one or possibly two more times depending upon your time and energy. Up your weight on each set by about 2 per cent if you can manage it. Adhere to proper form with each exercise. Repeat this workout 2-3 times per week.
You can also perform giant sets for lower body on the same day as upper body depending upon your strength and stamina. I prefer doing upper and lower body on different days. Regardless, remember each of these workouts is intense and should only take you 30 minutes tops to perform. Use squats, leg presses, leg curls, stiff-leg dead lifts, lunges and a high repetition calf raise (15-20 reps) to slam quads, hamstrings, calves and butt. Perform 2-3 giant sets for legs. Rest 30 seconds between exercises and two – three minutes between giant sets (a little more rest may be needed for legs as compared to upper body). Work abdominals by doing crunches at any time during these workouts or on off days.

several anti-transgender protesters outside the event causing a stir by singing transphobic songs, wearing offensive clothing and waving around anti-trans derogatory posters. The very purpose of the collection is to help transgender women feel genuinely feminine and sexy and help cisgender people to “get it” –“it” being that transgender people are equal to everyone else and should be treated as such. Clearly, these transphobic actions –which did nothing to dim the success of the launch event –shows that we still have a long way to go in society to reach this point. But there is no doubt we will get there! For more information go to: GICollection.co.uk

The Frivolist By Mikey Rox
For the Love of Hot Pilots, Stop Doing These 19 Things on an Airplane
1
Human beings do disgusting, dirt-nasty things while traveling in an airplane. DO NOT BE THESE SLOBS. Here are 19 in-flight no-nos to remember the next time you're flying the friendly skies.
Removing footwear
This is your captain speaking: The first person to take their stank shoes or socks off on this plane will be ejected at 35,000 feet. Even if you think your feet don't “stink, somebody else probably will. But besides that, what kind of adult person thinks it's appropriate to kick their footwear off in tight quarters among strangers? Somebody didn't raise you right, number one, and number two, if your feet hurt or your shoes are too restricting, buy more comfortable shoes. Please don't act a fool at everyone else's expense.
2
Using electronic devices without headphones
Here is the total number of scenarios where it's appropriate to use your electronic devices on a plane without headphones: ZERO. In zero scenarios is this appropriate. Whether you're watching a movie, browsing cooking demonstrations, letting your children play games, listening to music, or engaging in the other hundreds of things you do that go beep, boop and screech, please do it with headphones on. If you forgot them, ask your flight attendants for a pair; they have them and they're generally free. 98 | Hotspots.LGBT
3 4 5 6 7 Watching adult movies
Watching p*rn that other passengers can view is probably illegal. In fact, I'd even suggest that you steer clear of R-rated films – even those with the most innocent nudity – while traveling on a plane. It sounds prudish, yes, but you never know how someone else is going to react to seeing those images these days, and you don't want to get caught up in a #MeToo moment because a bare ass flashed across your screen for a split second.
Putting your feet between seats
Where do your feet belong on a plane? Repeat after me: On. The. Floor. (with your shoes ON.)
Letting your kids run amok
Fair warning to all you moms and dads out there: If you're letting your out-of-control kids run screaming up and down the aisles of the plane, there's a good chance they could get drop-kicked. By accident, of course. My general life rule about children is that if the parents don't discipline them, I should be able to take a stab at it. Literally. It takes a village, right?
Blowing your germs all over the place
Sneeze and cough into the bend of your elbow. Use tissues and discard them properly. You know, like somebody with common sense.
Constant rustling
When you board the plane and find your seat, this is the time to start getting comfy. Get out everything you'll want for the flight – magazines, devices, snacks, medications (whatever you need to be happy for the next few hours) – and sit your ass down, buckle up and relax. Once you're in the air, avoid the temptation to move around. Chill, wait for your free soda, choose the movie you want to watch, and stay in your space.
Taking a window seat if you like to get up a lot If you like to move around or have to use the bathroom frequently, don't opt for a window seat. You belong in an aisle seat, and that's the seat you should choose. If you have the window seat by circumstance, do the passengers in your row a solid and let them know that you will need to get up frequently. If they choose to stay put, it's not your problem anymore.
910 11 12 13 Reclining the seat
You're not getting that much of a recline – about 5 degrees in economy – so why not do the courteous thing and stay upright? It's really not fair to the person behind you who can barely move when you recline, especially considering that there's only about 30 inches of pitch between seats to begin with. Lean against the window or your tray table for a nap, or buy a neck pillow so you can sleep upright more comfortably.
Excessive flatulence
I get it – sometimes a little toot-toot sneaks out. But if you're excessively gassy, go to the bathroom and do some business to help alleviate the issue. Or just hold it in until you explode. That's better than toxifying the recycled air for hours on end.
Carrying on loud conversations
If I can hear you more than three rows in front of me, you're being too loud. The person to whom you're speaking is literally right next to you. Library voices, please.
Using your phone during takeoff
I was once on a flight with a guy who gave the person on the other end of his call a play-by-play of takeoff until we were too high in the air for the signal to continue. Frankly, I was surprised at how long he was able to keep talking. It was pretty annoying, but it also was a source of anxiety – I'm a nervous flyer – because the airlines have convinced me that if a cell phone is on during takeoff or landing, it probably means certain death. I survived, but he was still a D-bag.
Wearing powerful scents
Given that everyone on a plane sits extremely close to one another and the air is recycled on airplanes, please save your pungent colognes and perfumes for alone time with the one person who thinks you smell amazing dipped in flowery toilet water.
Trying to board strange “support animals”
Don't hold up the flight for hundreds of other people because you're trying to pass a two-headed dragon off as a support animal because you don't want to pay the fee for it to travel separately. Dogs and cats are support animals. Ligers, peacocks, alligators and whatever else you're dragging through the airport on a leash are not.
100 | Hotspots.LGBT
15 16 17 18 319 Arguing
Save your lovers' quarrel for where it belongs – your honeymoon. Don't engage in an altercation with other passengers, either. If you're squabbling about something on an airplane, you shouldn't be on it.
Bringing odorous food on board
Cold turkey sandwich, sure. Freshly prepared salmon, no! Honestly, even more innocuous foods like pizza and fried chicken can be offensive to others. Eat your meal before you board and then snack on the plane if you need to.
Standing up to deplane as soon as the seatbelt light goes off
WHERE ARE YOU GOOOOING?! There's no reason to jump out of your seat and start removing bags from overhead storage as soon as the pilot parks the plane. You don't need to push and elbow other passengers, either. Just sit calmly until it's your turn, get up, grab your belongings and exit. Manners 101, folks.
Taking up overhead bin space for things that can fit under your seat Don't take up space in the overhead bins with backpacks and shopping bags if those items can fit under your seat.
Making a mess in the bathroom
A hundred and 50 people have to use that tiny space. Keep your bodily functions in the toilet and paper towels in the trash. If you've made a mess in the bathroom doing you-know-what, try to clean it yourself, otherwise alert a flight attendant discreetly.

HOT ADVICE
By Andreus Quinones
Supportive Boyfriend Dear Andreus, My partner is bipolar and is prescribed medication to regulate his mood. The problem is that I know he isn't taking it, and he becomes very difficult. He always swears to me that he is taking his medicine, but he won't take it in front of me. Honestly, his moods are causing us lots of issues, and he doesn't see it. I have suggested that we talk to a professional, but he is against it. There must be a way to fix this without it destroying us. Sincerely, Supportive Boyfriend Dear Supportive Boyfriend, First, let me commend you for being supportive. Mental health is very real, and for some reason revealing it or discussing is still very taboo to many. You cannot force someone to do anything that they don't want to do. Trying to get them to fix a problem when they are in denial is even worse. In this situation though, if his mood swings are causing you guys difficulties, then you must make some changes. Maybe giving him some space when these moods swings occur. He honestly may not realize the effect it is having on your relationship. Sometimes we must alter our behavior to get other people to see reality. The next time there is an episode, remove yourself from the situation, and hopefully he will begin to realize that his not taking his medication is an issue.

Dear Andreus, My ex-boyfriend broke my heart when he left me over a year ago to date some new guy who just moved to the area. Now he is trying to get back together. He told me that he made a terrible mistake, and that he realizes that he is not going to find anyone like me. I never stopped loving him. Should I take him back? Sincerely, Torn Dear Torn, So, let me get this straight. He left you to go after some random new guy who just came to town, and more than a year later he wants to get back together because it was a mistake. Sorry, I had to recap. And after doing so, my conclusion is NO. I mean, you can do what you want, but if he really loved you to begin with he would have never taken off. How do you do that, and then come back pretty much because it didn't work out with the other person. You must think better of yourself. You are worth more than being someone's option. If he really loved you, you would have never stopped being a priority. On to the next one. You can do better.
