Hotels Your Hotel Wedding

Considering one of the northeast’s top hotels as your wedding venue? We’re not surprised – they’re utterly amazing, from their feature staircases to their floor-to-ceiling windows and their award-winning chefs! Here’s why your hotel wedding will be simply wonderful…

1. All under one roof

From the dinner the night before and wedding morning prep to saying: “I do” and hitting the dancefloor, having everything in one place can be a great advantage, especially in the winter months. It doesn’t just save on transport costs, it’s a big tick for guests who’ve travelled far as they know their bed for the night is just upstairs. 2. Accommodation galore

On that note, there’s unlikely to be any difficulty in guests securing a room because large hotels have so much space. Usually when you book your wedding, a hotel will kindly reserve a set number of rooms at a good rate for your guests and perhaps even treat you – honeymoon suite, anyone? It’s a great weight off for guests who can drive to and from the venue, and still enjoy a drink to toast to the happy couple. Plus, they get to celebrate again in the morning. Even if you prefer privacy and breakfast in bed, they’ll be happy catching up over a fry up with those they missed out on talking to the day before.

3. Suppliers? Sorted!

As you’ll see from the pages of GWD, wedding planning involves pulling many different services together for one very special day. Not just tricky in terms of making sure all your favourites are available then, it comes with sub-tasks, too – comparing prices and services before making a decision on each supplier, for example.

Hiring a hotel removes some of this stress as many of these services will be or can be included. Wedding planner? Tick! Catering? Tick! Bar? Tick! And that’s just the big things. From a red carpet and ropes for your arrival to name cards at your guests’ place settings, a hotel is likely to be able to cater to your every need! That said, what you get will be determined by your exact package, so make sure you’re clear on that before signing the dotted line. There’s no point paying for something you don’t need, and you don’t want to be expecting something that’s not included.

4. Perfect packages

Short on time? Hate organising? Hotel wedding packages are made for you! Your wedding coordinator will listen to what you want and pull together all your options, from guest numbers to toast drinks to pudding choices. You’ll probably find it’s ultra-easy-to-read and comes with costs so you can quickly figure out what works best for you. Don’t be afraid to ask for a few tweaks if needed, though!

If you’re lucky, there may well be a pool or spa on-site for some last-minute beautifying or postwedding relaxation. Ahhh…

5. A little black book of contacts

As you’ll have realised, hotels can provide almost anything you may need for the big day – but everything has limits! Some services will have to be external (photography and videography; cakes and flowers, for example) but your hotel can still help you here. With years upon years in the industry, your trusty team will have the ultimate little black book when it comes to wedding suppliers and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction. In fact, they may even have a ready-made list of recommended suppliers who’re used to working with them and at the venue. Take heed of this advice – hotel staff know their stuff!

6. A flexible venue for all guest lists

Whilst some boutique hotels may be slightly restricted in terms of guest list size, the majority are ultra-flexible with ballrooms, extensive gardens and space to erect a marquee. You could be forgiven for thinking a grand hotel ballroom is only for those with invitees going into the hundreds. But these very versatile rooms can be www.elitephotographics.co.uk

divided in all manner of ways to suit weddings small and large. Intimate wedding? The hotel team will section off a romantic space fitting to your ceremony guest list and reserve the rest for the wedding breakfast and dancing. One bonus here is no turnaround time! 7. Fantastic facilities

Focused on the comfort of their everyday guests, hotels are guaranteed to have fantastic facilities, and our northeast offering doesn’t disappoint. You’ll likely have loads of parking (including plenty of space for busses to turn if needed), great and multiple powder rooms, a stage area for your entertainment, quiet spaces for older guests to chill out if needed and access to top-notch WiFi – not just a consideration for getting the day on the ‘gram, it’s essential for many suppliers, too. Those staying over may find extra benefits, like laundry and shoeshine, to help them get big dayready. And, if you’re lucky, there may well be a pool or spa on-site for some last-minute beautifying or postwedding relaxation. Ahhh…

8. In-house catering for ease

Having ready-to-go caterers at your hotel isn’t just a positive when it comes to having one less supplier to source. It also means things should go very smoothly on the day because the team will be used to working together and used to cooking in that kitchen. Any potential problems have hopefully already been fine-tuned from previous large-scale events and they’ll have your wedding food prep down to a fine art, leaving you with only one job to do – devour it all! ♥
