MOTIVATION LETTER
Dear IFMSA Family,
Two years ago when I attended my first major IFMSA-Iraq event, It was the third National General assembly in Baghdad 2018, and how impressed I felt observing the huge world of IFMSA. I felt empowered and motivated to take a step further and serve the association on the next level. little did i know at the time that the opportunity given to me by IFMSA and SCORA would spark such a passion and motivation for me to reach this point to have the privilege to present to you my candidature for The National Officer on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS for the term 2020-2021. I remember how I was just a volunteer working within my local committee participating in every opportunity seeking every chance to serve the community. Time went by until 26th of July 2019. That was the day I felt the true passion for SCORA, It was SCORA Week date, where I encountered the world of Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). I learned about a wonderful world, full of inclusive people, loving and eager to change the world. Since that day I became an SRHR advocate, I lost every fear of raising my voice and defending everyone’s rights. My second NGA in Kirkuk 2019, It was my turning point when I attended Presidents’ sessions and had an insight on the work in our NMO. which encouraged me more and more to be part of the change for our members and our NMO. moreover having an amazing opportunity being part of SCORA Sessions’ Team which got me deeper into the sea of SRHR. A few months later I was appointed as NORA south assistant. Which gave me numerous opportunities to have an insight on the world of SRHR nationally and internationally. Gave me days filled with responsibilities, decisions and sleepless nights. It taught me how the decision making process as SCORA national team can affect generations of SCORA members. Made me think about the future consequences of each and every action. Showed me how to fulfil my passion advocating and spreading the proper orientation about SRHR. shining the light on important sensitive topics that have always been kept in the dark. being part of building new generations of advocates who have no fear to raise their voice and to defend everyone’s rights. This has always been my passion and ignited the fire within me and always will be. The experience serving as NORA SA. I was introduced to the international world of SRHR. During my first month, I was selected as one of two observers for SCORA international national December OLM. I saw SCORA from a whole new perspective. I witnessed the decision making process internationally. Since that day I have put my utmost effort into bringing the international world of SRHR to our members. On 30th of May 2020, on this day I knew that I am destined to fight for the change I wanted to see the world. It was the day that I graduated IPET after six weeks or exploring every inch of SRHR on an international level. It was life changing international experience.
MOTIVATION LETTER Most recently was my first General assembly. It was a unique and challenging experience. Working closely with IFMSA international EB as a support person. Getting inspired by Witnessing their efforts and dedication service the Federation. That point I was certain that I wanted to inspire the youth to both serve our association and set the ground stone for building a generation of advocates equipped with necessary tools to advocate for SRHR in their respective communities in culturally respected fashion. It is my desire to continue using the skills, qualities, and experiences that I gained over the years working with the IFMSA family. It is my time to give back for the beloved IFMSA family. working to improve the space that SCORA provides. Which is the core essence of our accomplishments. It ensures our mission and vision. Using the experiences form the past to be more competent and imaginative to tackle the internal and external challenges that SCORA encounters. My name is Hussam Riadh, a 5th year medical student from Wasit. I am honored to present to you my candidature. Fueled by the dreams and hope of creating something in the time where cultural taboos surrounding SRHR. spreading the tolerance and respect for SRHR. of being the change we want to see in the world. For the dreams might seem impossible at first, Improbable after a second thought, and inevitable with will and action. Warm regards and red hugs,
Hussam Riadh

PLAN OF ACTION My proposed plan of action was created based on the NORA tasks that are detailed in IFMSA-Iraq constitution and bylaws, SCORA international regulations, as well as my personal observations, vision, and experience gained working as NORA south assistant. My plan consist of the following pillars:
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
CAPACITY BUILDING
SUSTAINABILITY
INTERNAL WORK EXTERNAL WORK Final version of my plan of action that will go into the annual working plan for the term will be changed according to the input from the elected officials and LCs needs.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
Our members are the cornerstone on which IFMSA-Iraq is built upon. it’s our duty to bring SCORA even closer to them, in order to keep engaged, and motivated SRHR Advocates. NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Bringing the exciting world of external opportunities closer to our members through sharing all national and international calls for opportunities and encouraging members to participate. LC EMPOWERMENT Need assessment: Need assessment for strengthening the specific needs of each SCORA active LCs. SCORA LC Empowerment: Provide online sessions for LCs (Physical if possible) to reinforce SCORA infrastructures and to build local SCORA team by shedding some light on our beloved SC, its vision and mission and how you can be an active SCORA member.
SCORA X-CHANGE SCORA X-Change proposal has been selected for the 2021 first season. Thus I will ensure to Support our SXC Feb 2021 Organizing committee to provide optimum settings and high academic quality exchange programs for our international and national participants. And to apply for SXC host for the next season to ensure the sustainability of IFMSA-Iraq SXC. OBSERVERS FOR SCORA OLM National LORAs Meeting: giving the opportunity for the SCORAngels to observe the local workflow and task distribution. National Online Meetings: giving the opportunity for the LORAs to observe the national workflow and decision-making process.
CREATE SAFE SPACES Support our members by creating safe spaces within our national and local events. This allows the members to discuss SRHR topics in a safe and judgment-free environment.

CAPACITY BUILDING It is our responsibility to empower, support, and provide them with tools necessary to shape a new generation of SRHR advocates.
INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS work in close collaboration with CBDD to host a SCORA international workshop during this term to ensure that the best capacitation for the future generation of SRHR advocates.
E-WORKSHOPS work on establishing national online versions of SCORA international workshops targeting developing LCs. reinforcing SCORA infrastructures.
NATIONAL CAMPS national camps have always been gathering SCORAngels form all over the NMO exchanging ideas and having fruitful discussions while gaining proper knowledge about SRHR which will reflect on the development of the SC in their LC under the slogan of “Think global act Local” thus I intend to host both physical and online National camps.
SUSTAINABILITY REVIEWING SC EVALUATION AND REPORTING PROCESS assessment is a highly important step in the process of identifying areas of improvement and adaptation of our activities to ensure that they are as effective as we intended them to be thus comes the need to implement a reporting system that includes a pre-and post-evaluation of our activities. SCORA REGULATION IFMSA-Iraq as a student organization, progress towards long-term goals can be limited by the high frequency of turnover of positions. SCORA regulations seek to embed the core roles, responsibilities, and operations of the Standing Committee into bylaws to ensure the continuity and sustainability of SCORA work. These regulations reflect the continued growth and changing environment of the Standing Committee’s work. SCORA DATABASE create a spreadsheet to serve as the guide for the Database, using separate tabs for the different sections inside the database, adding all relevant links to make it as comprehensible as possible for the National team and the LORAs. REPORTING Review the LORAs reporting process and implement a unified template to be filled monthly by LORAs to ensure maximum work efficiency.
SCORA STRATEGY In the past, SCORA Iraq has done numerous activities and projects. but this work did not follow a clear strategy thus I intend to open a small working group to develop a strategy for SCORA for the upcoming three years to ensure the continuation of the work and stable development of the Standing Committee. ACTIVITY ENROLLMENT National Activities: work in close collaboration with PSDD on enrollment of our national activities into the IFMSA-Iraq database. National Project: Ensuring the enrollment of our national projects into the IFMSA International SCORA programs. To sustain our voting rights in SCORA plenaries. TRANSPARENCY SCORA national team will be given quarterly updates of our work that will ensure both efficiency and transparency throughout the term. HANDOVER preservation of institutional memory is essential to ensure the continuity and sustainable development of our SC. thus I will ensure documenting every step of the way allowing a smooth transition between SCORA generation.
08 "National NORA-LORA Weekend"
INTERNAL WORK TEAM OF OFFICIALS MEETINGS
NATIONAL MEETINGS
Attend all TOMs which are an opportunity to update the rest of the Team on SCORA's work, but also a space to collaborate and consult with other members of the TO to ensure that our association is running smoothly and efficiently.
Attending both National Gatherings (NGA, Break) and ensuring high-quality SC sessions.
COLLABORATION WITH THE TO Many of today’s global challenges could not be addressed correctly without Trans-committee collaboration. the necessity of collaboration with other national officers, through joint session campaign activities and joint publication. EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION (MEETINGS) It is important to recognize that taking part in external opportunities is a privilege for IFMSA-Iraq. As NORA, I would like to increase focus on having an active role and best possible representation for our NMO in the EMR meeting and both general assemblies.
SCORA NATIONAL TEAM The collaboration and joint efforts of the national team are essential when it comes to achieving optimal outcomes to ensure a successful team effort, several steps need to be taken: Team immersion: During the first month, the national team will conduct several mandatory online meetings and which they will go through the skills and tasks they need to know for the rest of the term. Such as SCORA resources and the NORA annual working plan. not only this will be essential to provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge needed for their term. this will also be an opportunity to develop trust and team spirit. Healthy work environment: A healthy working environment is essential to optimize productivity and to make sure that everyone’s mental health and wellbeing are prioritized.
BEING APPROACHABLE being approachable and easily accessible for the team and the member.
EXTERNAL WORK External Partnerships and Collaborations It is a priority working with VPE to seek new partnerships, and collaborations, with NGOs. while also seeking sponsorship for our work and campaigns. I believe IFMSA-Iraq would benefit from expanding collaboration or engagement in certain work areas (i.e. increasing IFMSA-Iraq involvement within the GBV and Maternal Health work).
