If the pur chaser of any lots fails to compl y with an y such requir ement the au ctioneer ma y put up again and re-sell the lot; if up on such re-sale a lowe r pri ce is obtain ed than wa s obtained on the first sa le the pur chase r in default on the first sale shall make goo d the di fference in pri ce and expenses of re-sale whi ch shall become a debt du e from him . (c) The aucti oneer acts as age nt only, and ther efore shall not be liable for any d efault of the pur chaser or vend or. 4. (a) Each lot shall be at the purch aser's risk from the fall of the hamm er and shall be paid for in full before delivery and taken away at his expen se by a purcha ser in the United Kingdom within seven days from the date of sale, and by a purch aser overseas within fourteen days from the date of sale, or such longer time as shall be agreed in writing between the auctioneer and the purcha ser . In the case of a mail bidd er or on the request of a room bidd er, the auctioneer will automatic ally forward a purch ase by an appr ppriate method to a buyer who has established credit or has made payment. A charge will be made for this service. A mail bidder , not wishing to utilise this service should note on the bid form his wishes . (b) If any purcha ser fails to pa y in full for any lot within the tim e stated in sub -clause (a)o f thi scla uses uch lot may at any tim e therea fter at the auctione er's di scretion be put up for sale by auction again or so ld pri va tely; if up on such re-sa le a lower pri ce is obtain ed than wa s obtain ed on the first sale th e pur chaser in default on the first sa le shall make goo d the difference in pri ce and the expenses of re-sale whi ch shall become a debt du e from him . (b) A pur chaser shall be at liberty to reject any lot if he (i) gives the au ctioneer w ritte n notice, pr eferabl y on the pink form suppli ed, of intention to qu es tion the ge nuin eness or, as the case ma y be, the accura cy of descripti on of th e lot w ithin seven da ys (or, in the case of an ove rseas pur chase r, thirt y da ys) from the date of sa le; AN D (ii) proves that the lot is not ge nuin e or was incorrectly describ ed; AND (iii) return s to the auctioneer w ithin 30 days from th e d ate of sa le the lot in the sa me conditi on as it was at th e time of sa le; prov id ed th at the auctioneer may, at his abso lut e d iscretion, or receiv ing a requ es t in w ritin g from th e pur chase r, extend for a reaso nable period of tim e for return of the lot to enable it to be submitt ed to expertisation .
