Livi ngston and 1Iobile sha re th e dist inct ion of being the o nly "p ict or ial s" iss ued up to that time. Probably both were engraved and litho g r aphed by Rob ert so n o f Mob ile. The Livingston has r epeated ly been the object of fier ce co m pet iti on in ea rl ier a ucti ons. The chances are that it will re main a coveted prize. Marion , Va. Three cove r s with P ost m aste r Fran ci ' famous "C h eck" of the Sc and one with th e 10c wi ll ca use n o littl e exc itement when "p ut on the block", especia lly the Francis always mad e th e und i puted claim to having is ued the latter.
