Exhaustive study of the 10c stamps shows no difference in the designs of the "Original Plate" from the "First Alteration. " In every instance of these r.tamps on greenish paper, they have been described as from the "Original Plate" although in the case of later use of the stamps they may well be from the "First Alteration" Plate.

ENTIRES The entires are white or blue folded double letter-sheets and vary in size between 7~/ 2"x3 ½" and 5 1; 2"x3 Ÿ". The difference is readily seen by the illustration of the covers and is also mentioned in the description.

Each cover bears a red dated circular "St. Louis, Missouri" pmk, a red "PAID" marking and a MSS figure "10" or "20" etc . denoting the postage category.
