CONDITIONS OF SALE Bidding 1.-AII bids are per lot as numbered in the catalogue. The right is reserved to withdraw any lot prior to sale , to divide a lot , or to group two or more lots.

11.-The highest bidder shall prevail . Should an y dispute arise between bidders, the decision of the auctioneer as to the successful bidder and the reoffering or resale of the lot under dispute shall rest entirely on the judgment of the auctioneer. The auctioneer shall regulate the bidding and reserves the right •o refuse any bid believed by him not to be made in good faith.

Payment For Purchases 111.--Floor Bidders. The name and address of the buyer of each lot shall be given to the auctioneer immediately following the sale of such lot. Payment of the whole purchase price, or part thereof, shall be made by the floor buyer in such manner as the auctioneer may determine.

IV.-Mail Bidders. A successful mail bidder will be notified of lots purchased and must remit before the lots are sent . Delivery to a successful 'Tla il bidder will be to the address on the bid sheet. A person known to us, or who furn shes sat isfactory references , may , at our option , have purchases forwarded for immed iate payment. A minimum charge of 25c will be made for mailing and insura~ce . Proof , by t he auctioneers , of receipt of a sending at the odvised address sholl consti+ute delivery .

VI.-The buyer agrees to poy H. R. Hor"'ler 1'1c. a service charge of Jl/2%per nonth whic~ may be mposed on post due bolonces .

Aut'henticity Vll.-Eoch lot is sold as genuine but when in the opinion of ony competent authority acceptable to H. R. Harmer, Inc., the lot is declared otherwise, the purchase price will be refunded in full, provided the lot is received by H. R. Harmer, Inc. within a period of 21 days from the date of the auction. Where an opinion is not expected within 21 days, receipt by H. R. Harmer, Inc. of notification within this period that a reasonable extension of time is required, is satisfactory. Lots on which opinions are to be obtained must be submitted to the Expert within 7 days of receipt . No lot wlll be accepted back under any circumstances after three months from the auction date. Proof of the inability of a "competent authority" to express a definite opinion is not grounds for the return of an item.

In the case of United States Stamps the "competent authority" shall be The Philatelic Foundation, VIII.-Any lot, description of which is incorrect, is returnable ( a I within three days of receipt and ( b) if received by H. R. Harmer, Inc. within 21 days from the date of the auction. All disputed lots must be returned intact, in the condition received , and are at buyer's risk. No adjustments.

The following lots are not returnable: Lots containing ten or more stamps; lots from purchasers who had the opportunity to examine them before the auction; stamps described with defects or faults or of a quality standard of "very good" or below; stamps, on account of appearance or centering, when they are illustrated; lots offered "as is."

New York State Sales Tax IX.-The New York States Sales Tax (as appropriate) is payable by buyers liable to tax.

X.-The placing of a bid shall constitute acceptance of the foregoing conditions of sale.

It is however impossible in such publications to show the relative values of stamps in var ied condition . Equally, price trends cannot be co vered effectively without extens ive resetting of each issue.

For this additional information the greatest source is the H. R. Harmer Lists of Prices Real ized at the ir unreserved auctions. The results represent t'he actual market le vels at which stamps have been bought and sold in open compet ition. Such informat ion can be invaluable to the serious collector , both in preventing his overbidding on certain items and equall y in unde rbidding where the rarity is not reflected by the catalogue quotation .
