Info

The coffee kiosk is divided into two elements. The first element is a simple box that provides space for working. It is compact, tailor made and designed for a single worker. This box contains all the functions which the coffee seller needs for taking orders, making the coffee and working efficiently. As to the design, it will be fully covered with colourful patterns and tactile textures, which refer to iconic modern Finnish design language. The second element is a spacious and airy structure, made from natural, untreated wooden beams. It houses a sheltered space for the customers.

At the base of the beams is a mechanism that allows sitting inside the kiosk or on the outside, depending on the customers’ will.

Flexible Structure

As the pavillion will be positioned on diferent locations it is designed so it can be folded, expanded or adjusted according to the space avilable. When folded it can fit in most transporters and therefore be easily relocated.

The structure is easy to manufacture and can be expanded or narrowed as required; freely standing in a park, or tight fit in a packed street. This accordion-like structure redefines the costumers' area, and the owner can easily change it according to his vision or the moment of the day.

By putting the box and the wooden structure together, we create a connection between modern graphic design and vernacular, traditional architecture. It gives the coffee place a surprising lightness and a fashion
