When someone asks you how you are doing, what do you say? Do you complain about how “busy” you are or how horrible the weather is? Or are you one of those “glass is half full” kind of folks? If your first inclination is to complain, perhaps you need some tweaking of the mindset. Remember that how you approach every conversation – including conversations with yourself (“self talk”) – impacts you and everyone around you. How you show up

matters.

Ta k i n g a s h o r t t i m e e a c h d a y t o r e f l e c t on what was GOOD can make all the difference. Multiple studies have shown that consistently thanking others, and being grateful, changes our outlook so that we “ a c c e n t u a t e t h e p o s i t i v e ” a u t o m a t i c a l l y, a s that old song says. When we look for the positive, we get more of it (and the reverse is true for those negative thoughts). Feeling positive can lead us into an attitude of abundance; a belief that good things will happen and that our fortunes are not limited ( n o t a “ f i x e d p i e ” ) . We c a n a n d s h o u l d believe that we can “make the pie bigger”

by finding “win-win” solutions, rather than spending all our time trying to be the only one who “wins”. At the quantum level, we are all connected – particles jump around through space from o n e p e r s o n o r o b j e c t t o a n o t h e r c o n s t a n t l y. We r e a l l y a r e a c o l l e c t i v e a n d w e s h o u l d act like it! Because success breeds success (another way to state the law of attraction), if we share our successes and struggles with one another we can learn to be better together – and that makes everyone more successful. In our competitive environment, I’ve heard people state that they wouldn’t share something that works for them with someone else because they might be “in competition” and want to keep their edge. I’d challenge this attitude as wrong-headed. In an environment of caring and sharing we can be happy for the success of our co-workers and they can be happy for our s u c c e s s e s b e c a u s e , u l t i m a t e l y, t h e s u c c e s s of a peer will make each of us better and more successful.
