History The Terminal Building Built in 1916, The Terminal Building served as the headquarter for the Lincoln Traction Company, formed in 1897 as a reorganization of the Lincoln Street Railway Company. It was the major street railway company in the city until the end of streetcar services in 1945. The streetcars traveled 2,617,666 miles and carried 12,222,597 passengers in a year.

The First World War brought reduced income

Just three streetcar lines remained after 1931.

• Existing interior brick will remain exposed and sealed with clear sealer. • Interior columns and beams shall remain exposed to maintain the character of the space. • The ceilings will be finished with smooth finish with exposed conduit, ductwork and sprinklers. • No nail down flooring is allowed. Flooring must be glued or click. • Building construction will include new windows. • No window coverings are included. • Units will be all electric. • Kitchen exhaust will be recirculating only. • Sound systems, speakers and televisions may not be attached to ceilings or common walls. • The building will be secured at night and on weekends.
