AMY BIRKHOLZ has helped me on several occasions. She always proves to be extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with, and always willing to do whatever it takes to make things happen. I don’t even consider using anyone else for buying or selling a home.
ANNE KERKMAN was amazing to work with. She kept us informed and showed us homes that she knew we would be interested in. It was a long process finding the right home but she was great throughout the whole process!
BRAD CARTER took time to give us his opinion on a home, and spent time with us, even the very first time that we met with him. He has continued to be impressive with his knowledge..
ZACH BRANDL went above and beyond helping me, and always got back to me...
JESSI GIPSON has proven to be professional, and a strong advocate for me to get the home I wanted, and was instrumental in making sure that all required paperwork was completed in a timely manner and followed though on each of the “glitches”...

hat’s the best thing about October? Fall leaves, Halloween, crisp air? All of those things (of course), as well as a running start at the new year BEFORE the snow starts to fly. Real Estate really works in ninety-day cycles and that means that the work you start in October will start bearing fruit early in the next year, keeping your business on track for your best year ever. It’s time to start setting goals – both personal and professional. Who do you want to spend time with this next year – kids, significant other, friends? What do you want to accomplish and how much business do you plan to do? You know that what gets measured gets accomplished, so let’s get planning so we can measure! Business and goal planning is the first step. We have tools and consultation available to help you run your business like a business, while making time to do those things that matter outside of work – after all, the reason we work is to create a great life that brings us satisfaction and purpose. Remember to start your day with daily affirmations, your gratitude list and a structured “to do” list that includes both personal and professional items!

Amy Mosser finds deeper meaning in Guatemala
A
s a Woods Bros agent who is involved in the local community, _Amy Mosser has always been guided by the mission to leave the world a better place than she found it. But it wasn’t until her first outreach visit to Guatemala in 2012 that Mosser realized just how far-reaching her impact could truly be—and how transformative these missions are for anyone who feels the same call to help.
“IF THERE’S EVER BEEN A TUG ON THEIR HEART, I KNOW THEIR LIFE WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME,”
Mosser says, encouraging others to take the leap into mission work.
Mosser was inspired to take her first trip by a close friend, Valerie Edwards of Kansas, who was caught in a heartbreaking limbo when the Guatemalan government closed international adoptions when she was already in the process of bringing home her son, Mateo. That caused what would have been a months-long adoption journey to drag on for three years, during which time the Edwards family made multiple visits to Mateo’s orphanage. With more children in need of a home than local families were able to provide, the Edwards family witnessed first-hand as orphanages became overcrowded and undersupported. Even after Mateo was able to join his adoptive family in the United States, Edwards felt called to assist the children back in Guatemala—so she asked Mosser to help establish the non-profit For the Love of Mateo and return to the orphanage. “We just went down there and literally held the babies that don’t even get human touch,” Mosser says, describing the small, concretefloored building that housed 44 children and just two nannies. Although they knew how meaningful the mission had been for the
children in the orphanage, both women recognized there was a need for so much more support throughout Guatemala. In the years since, Mosser has returned eight times to deliver bunk beds, provide hundreds of pairs of children’s shoes and even to assist in building family homes. Through each of these acts, Mosser says there is a ripple effect that’s incredible to witness: With the beds, people have comfortable places to sleep that give them the energy for productive days. With the shoes, which are preceded in delivery by the team washing the children’s feet, the little ones receive the gifts of pride and confidence. And with the family homes, multiple generations have the tools they need to make a living. During her most recent trip, Mosser says this last point was said so beautifully by one of the new homeowners. “We all got in a circle and the father prayed and said while we all may come from different religions, we all have the same heart.” Mosser says preparations are already underway for the next mission in June 2020, which begins months in advance with For the Love of Mateo helping to employ people in Guatemala and keeping money circulating in the economy. The team will then put the final touches on four new homes, deliver 20 bunk beds and put the shoes on the feet of 300 more children. While Mosser is looking forward to another opportunity to serve the people of Guatemala, she also believes the mission is also a gift to those who participate. If you feel called to experience this for yourself, she encourages you to reach out to her personally or visit the For the Love of Mateo website to learn more.

CORE VALUE / Excellence - written by Ben Dinger
E
xcellence is a word that’s often used but not often ear ned. For me, excellence is not about doing one _thing well once – it’s about sweating the small stuff and doing it right over and over again. It’s a word not associated with the one hit wonder or fad, but with The Rolling Stones and Rolex. In sports we see traditions of excellence, teams that perfor m year in and year out in contrast to those who have flashes of greatness with years of average perfor mance. How do you achieve excellence? In my mind it’s about sweating the small stuff in what you do, and doing things the right way over and over. Pick what’s important to you and sweat every detail. Repeat that every single time you do that thing. Fail at something? Figure out why and fix it then do it again. Don’t give up when it doesn’t work instead figure out every way that it was done wrong and do them – so you know what not to do again. When I think about excellence in what I do, it’s about sweating the details. If you ever watch a pro athlete practice you’ll understand - a pass that might look great to all of us isn’t up to par for Aaron Rodgers if it’s off by inches. In what we do at HomeServices it’s sweating those little things that add up to a great big thing. I’ve been here long enough to see excellence shine through in every facet of what we do. “Good enough” isn’t a phrase you hear around here often, instead we always look to how we can improve on what was done to really give the best experience possible. Every day all of us have a chance to exude excellence in what we do. Every one of us as a team are helping the most noble of causes - to find someone a home. I think that’s pretty excellent.

JOB SHADOWING AT HSNE
H
omeServices of Nebraska recently had some very special guests! 8th _ Grade Business students from Moore Middle School dropped by HSNE Preserve for their Junior Achievement Job Shadow day to learn about careers in Real Estate! Starting the job shadow with a special introduction from Shannon Harner, who talked to our guests about the importance of culture, values and the wide range of services and careers in the Real Estate industry. Touring PRISM, Larabee School of Real Estate, HomeServices Title and all of the support services – Administration, Recruiting, Training, Marketing, IT, Accounting, Billing, Warranty, Commission, HR, Legal, and Relocation. Following the tour, the students were greeted by some awesome volunteers from Woods Bros Realty – Miranda Watson, Stephen Brown, and Josue Montoya. Miranda and Stephen talked about what it is like to be a Real Estate agent and the art of customer service. Josue led an activity where students identified the elements of a neighborhood (and created their own).
The students were shown the world of Relocation – calling Relocation Directors at EWM Realty in Miami (Patrick O’Connell), Semonin in Louisville (Lisa Estep), and Berkshire Hathaway in New York (Kathy Connor). The students went through the process of learning about the cities and understanding the first steps to moving there. Picking up on important items like “how close to the beach they can get if they want a 10 bedroom house with a waterfall pool with of course a lazy river, basketball court, soccer field, and space 10 Day dogs” might cost.
