Hua Hin Today Connect: New networking event aims to support local businesses…p.12
HOW THE NEW HUA HIN TRAIN STATION WILL MAKE TRAVEL EASIER FOR PASSENGERS OF ALL ABILITIES
If you have spent any amount of time in Hua Hin during the last four years, you can’t fail to have seen the construction of the new train station.
Once it opens, the new Hua Hin train station, the platform of which is 14 metres above ground level, will be the first elevated train station in Thailand to include a walkway under the station.
The new station is being constructed as part of the redevelopment of Thailand’s Southern Train Line, which is being transformed from a single track to a dual track rail network.
Earmarked to be operational by the start of 2024, the new train line will slash travel time between Hua Hin and Bangkok to approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, according to the State
Railway of Thailand (SRT).
As part of the project, the region’s train stations are being overhauled and emerging as architectural gems that have been designed to blend functionality, accessibility, and aesthetics.
Some of the local train stations have already been completed, while others, like Hua Hin Train Station, are nearing completion.
All of the new stations along the Southern Line have been designed to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in adherence to meet Universal Design principles. This helps to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, can access and navigate the stations with ease. ...p.2

HOW THE NEW HUA HIN TRAIN STATION WILL MAKE TRAVEL EASIER FOR PASSENGERS OF ALL ABILITIES
Universal Design is the design and composition of an environment so that it can be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people regardless of their age, size, ability or disability.
Some of the inclusive features that have been incorporated into the design of Hua Hin Train Station include:
Disabled parking spaces and ramps: The new station includes dedicated disabled parking spaces conveniently located near the entrance, allowing individuals with mobility challenges to easily access the ground level. Ramps have been thoughtfully integrated, providing smooth and barrier-free entry to the station.
Reduced height counter at ticket office: To cater to the needs of wheelchair users, the ticket office features a reduced height counter, enabling them to comfortably interact with station staff and purchase tickets without any hindrance.
Escalators: Ensuring seamless vertical movement, the station features escalators that connect the ground level to the upper level. These escalators serve as an efficient and accessible alternative to stairs, promoting inclusivity for all passengers.
Lifts: Elevating accessibility to new heights, two lifts have been installed in the station, granting access to all levels, including the platform. These lifts enable individuals with mobility impairments, parents with strollers, and those carrying heavy luggage to navigate the station with ease.
Breastfeeding/nursing room: Recognizing the needs of nursing mothers, a dedicated breastfeeding/nursing room has been incorporated into the station. This private and comfortable space offers a welcoming environment for mothers to care for their infants while traveling.
Ramps for access to amenities: Ensuring equal access to all station amenities, ramps have been strategically placed throughout the station. These ramps facilitate easy movement between different areas, eliminating barriers and ensuring a seamless experience for all passengers.
Restrooms: The station’s restrooms have been designed to be inclusive and accommodating facilities that prioritize accessibility in order to provide a comfortable and dignified experience for all groups.
Passenger waiting areas and ticket booths: The waiting areas and ticket booths have been thoughtfully designed to accommodate the diverse needs of passengers. Comfortable seating, clear multilingual signage, and convenient facilities cater to a wide range of individuals, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all.
Retail space: Emphasizing community integration and supporting local businesses, the new station incorporates retail spaces where travelers can explore and purchase products from different vendors. These shops not only enhance the overall passenger experience but also contribute to the economic growth of the region.
The double track rail line between Hua Hin and Prachuap Khiri Khan is set to be open by next year, a spokesperson for the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has said.
In an update on the project provided to the Thai government’s public relations department, Ekarat Sri-arayanpong, SRT’s public relations director, said that the majority of the civil engineering work for the project has already been finished.
Mr Ekarat explained that the new station has been designed to blend the unique characteristics and beauty of the old Hua Hin railway station. When the new station opens for service, the old station will remain in place.
The dual track trains will arrive and depart Bangkok at the new Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.
The portion of the railway in Hua Hin is a segment of the overall track that will eventually link Nakhon Pathom and Chumphon, spanning a distance of 421 kilometers.
The construction of this railway line holds significance for Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi and Thailand as a whole.
Once completed, the dual track rail line will offer a more efficient and dependable means of transportation for both passengers and cargo.
According to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), this new rail line will contribute to establishing Thailand as a central transportation hub within the ASEAN region.
The SRT estimates that by 2051, approximately 2.85 million passengers will use the dual track train line.

HUA HIN’S ICONIC CHAT CHAI MARKET TO UNDERGO A REVAMP
of existing offerings to be more contemporary, while still retaining the unique character of the historic market. Additionally, the market’s layout will be reorganized to provide more organized parking and shopping areas.
The revitalization effort will also involve reaching out to local vendors and assessing their product offerings. Any vendors who have not sold any products in the market for over three months will be contacted and asked to either update their offerings or vacate their spaces.
Chat Chai Market was first built in 1926 and has since become a wellknown destination for both Thai and foreign visitors. The market features a semi-circular design with seven connecting curves, representing the seven eras of Thailand’s Rattanakosin period.
Hua Hin’s iconic Chat Chai Market is set to undergo a major revitalization, according to plans announced by Hua Hin Municipality.
The market, which has been a fixture of the Hua Hin community for almost a century, will be modernized and upgraded to meet the needs of both locals and tourists.
The plans were revealed on April 28 when Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin, held a meeting with more than 100 traders at Chat Chai Market to discuss plans to improve the market.
The project will involve both the development of new products and the upgrading
The market has a diverse range of products, including fresh seafood, dry goods, and souvenirs, making it a one-stop-shop for visitors looking for local goods at reasonable prices.
The revitalization project is expected to take around a year to complete, with the aim of bringing the market up to modern standards while preserving its unique cultural identity. The improved market is expected to continue to serve as a lively and bustling hub for both local and foreign visitors for years to come.
The initiative is part of the Municipality’s commitment to improving local attractions and promoting tourism in the region.

MAJESTIC PANTHERS SPOTTED IN ABUNDANCE JUST 80 KMS FROM HUA HIN
In a remarkable display of the region’s diverse wildlife, panthers have become a common sight in Kaeng Krachan National Park, according to park officials.
The national park’s official Facebook page recently shared images of these magnificent creatures, highlighting the growing frequency of panther sightings within the park.
Officials said the Khao Sam Yod-Ban KrangPhanoen Thung route within the park, which is approximately 80 kms from central Hua Hin, is one of the best locations for tourists to spot a glimpse of the elusive felines.
The park’s Facebook post emphasised that the frequent sightings of panthers serve as a testament to the thriving and diverse ecosystem that is present within Kaeng Krachan National Park.
The images shared on the park’s social media page captured the panthers as they roamed the verdant landscapes of the park.
The captivating visuals not only serve as a source of fascination for visitors but also play a vital role in fostering a sense of national pride among Thais, the post read.
Park officials assert that showcasing these images and videos of wild animals contributes to a greater appreciation for Thailand’s rich biodiversity. By sharing the natural wonders of Kaeng Krachan National Park, they hope to instill a sense of stewardship for the country’s wildlife among the Thai populace.
The panther sightings at Kaeng Krachan National Park underscore the importance of preserving and protecting natural habitats.
As one of Thailand’s largest national parks, Kaeng Krachan serves as a vital refuge for numerous species, ensuring their survival and contributing to the overall health of the ecosystem.
The news of the increasing panther sightings has generated excitement among wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists alike.
However, park officials also told tourist what they should do if they encounter wild animals in the park:
● Stop the vehicle at least 50 meters away from the wildlife. If the wildlife approaches, move the vehicle away and wait until the animal has moved away from the path before proceeding.
● Avoid using vehicle horns or making loud noises that may startle or provoke the wildlife, as it could result in the animal approaching or becoming aggressive towards you.
● Do not park the vehicle and get out to take pictures or videos in close proximity to the wildlife. This could cause you to run towards the vehicle and potentially put yourself in danger.
Kaeng Krachan National Park holds a significant place in Thailand’s natural heritage, having been declared as a national park on June 12th, 1981.
Since its establishment, it has garnered a reputation as one of the country’s finest national parks, renowned for the wide diversity of wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.
Recognizing its important ecological value, the park was further honored when it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2021, solidifying its status as a globally significant conservation area.
The park has gained widespread popularity among nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers due to its

Thailand’s banking industry is set to introduce biometric verification, including facial or fingerprint scans, for certain mobile banking transactions in a bid to enhance security.
New guidelines released by The Bank of Thailand (BoT) will come into effect from June 1st.
Customers seeking to transfer more than 50,000 baht via a mobile banking app will have to submit a facial scan for identity confirmation instead of using one-time passwords.
This measure is deemed the most secure way to prevent hacking or fraudulent access to mobile banking services.
Major banks, such as Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Krungthai Bank (KTB),

BANKS IN THAILAND INTRODUCE MANDATORY FACIAL RECOGNITION FOR SOME MOBILE BANKING TRANSACTIONS
Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri), Government Savings Bank (GSB), and Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), have urged their customers to update or rescan their faces before starting to use facial scanning for identity confirmation.
GSB, Bangkok Bank, SCB and KTB will begin mandatory facial scans from June, while Krungsri and BAAC were yet to announce their start dates at the time of going to print.
Facial scans will be required for SCB, GSB’s MyMo app, Bangkok Bank, and KTB’s Next app and Paotang app for three types of mobile banking transactions:
- Transferring at least 50,000 baht to another person’s account, making PromptPay, or G-Wallet payment in the case of Bangkok Bank
- Transferring after exceeding a daily limit of 200,000 baht
- Increasing the transfer limit to 50,000 baht or more
The enhanced security measures aim to tackle the rise of technology-related crimes involving fake short messages, call centers, and mobile applications, which have led to significant financial losses and shaken confidence in digital banking services. This could potentially have a long-term impact on the banking system.
To address this issue, the BoT has collaborated with agencies such as the Thailand Banking Sector Computer Emergency Response Team, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission to establish a set of standard banking measures for all financial institutions to follow.
Additionally, the BoT has mandated that every financial institution must operate a 24/7 hotline center for victims of online banking scams to report their cases swiftly. It is hoped that these measures will enhance customer security and confidence in digital banking services.

Eye diseases are common among older adults and can have a significant impact on their vision and overall wellbeing. It is crucial to understand these conditions to take appropriate measures. Early detection of eye problems allows for timely treatment, preventing or delaying vision loss and ensuring a better quality of life.
Dr. Tanun Hirunpatrawong, an Ophthalmologist at Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin, emphasizes that eye diseases in the elderly are often unavoidable due to natural changes and degeneration associated with aging. These conditions are commonly caused by age-related deterioration of the visual system and can also be influenced by factors like diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, medication usage, and stress.
The most common eye diseases among the elderly include:
Cataracts are the most common eye condition found in the elderly. It occurs when proteins in the eye lens accumulate, causing the lens to become cloudy and rigid. This leads to blurry vision, shadows, and a hazy appearance. Cataracts can gradually worsen and affect daily activities. Cataract surgery is the recommended treatment option to restore vision and improve quality of life.
Glaucoma is characterized by a progressive damage to the optic nerve, often caused by high intraocular pressure. In most cases, it develops slowly without noticeable symptoms. However, acute glaucoma can cause eye pain, blurred vision, headaches, nausea, and vomiting. Regular screenings and early detection are crucial to prevent permanent vision loss.
Macular Degeneration affects the central portion of the retina, leading to blurred or distorted vision, blind spots, or a shadowy appearance in the center of the visual field. This condition worsens gradually and may result in significant vision loss. While there is no cure, managing symptoms through regular eye exams and lifestyle adjustments can help slow down its progression.
To take care of eye health in the elderly:
Eye examinations: Older adults should regularly undergo eye examinations by an ophthalmologist. Typically, individuals aged 40 and above should have their eyes screened every 2 years, while those aged 60 and above should have annual examinations. However, individuals with abnormalities should follow the recommended examination schedule based on their specific conditions, such as measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, performing a comprehensive
360-degree examination of the angle of the eye (gonioscopy), visual field analysis, measuring the thickness of retinal nerve layers using OCT and fundus photography. It is important for patients with eye conditions to consistently follow up and monitor the results of their treatments to help delay and prevent vision loss.
Eye care: Properly using prescription eyeglasses, artificial tears, and wearing sunglasses to protect against UV radiation, which can damage the eyes. This is especially crucial for patients with eye conditions who are undergoing medication or surgical treatments. It is essential to strictly follow the doctor’s advice to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.
In addition to the mentioned eye conditions, dry eyes and visual fatigue are increasingly common across all age groups due to the use of electronic devices. Individuals experiencing these symptoms should consult a specialized physician for examination and guidance on proper care and lifestyle adjustments.
Overall physical health care: It is important to undergo regular health check-ups, engage in regular exercise, consume a diet rich in nutrients beneficial for eye health such as vitamins A, C, E, and antioxidants, and control conditions
like diabetes and high blood pressure to maintain optimal health.
“Eye diseases in the elderly are common and can directly affect their quality of life. Therefore, taking care of the eye health of the elderly is crucial. The patients themselves, as well as their family members or caregivers, should follow the doctor’s recommendations for regular examinations, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment of eye diseases. Although many eye diseases cannot be cured completely, they are controllable or preventable. Early detection and receiving appropriate treatment are important to enable the elderly to lead a happy and improved quality of life.”

Ejan has previously announced it will raise 20 million THB for the project.
On May 4, members of the RCRHH visited the site of the new school to observe the progress being made and to make two new donations to the project.
The first donation of 67,780 Thai Baht was made by Rotarian David Troxell and his wife Marissa, members of the Rotary Club of Jamestown in New York State in the USA.
event will be held by E-Jan in conjunction with Carapace in Khao Tao on July 1st and 2nd. Further details on this event will follow.
The Rotary Club of Bangkok South also contributed 100,000 Thai Baht to this project.
Construction of a state-of-the-art school for children with special educational needs or disabilities in Hua Hin is nearly finished.
The Special Children’s School aims to provide new educational facilities to 48 children who attend the Special Education Center at Anubaan Hua Hin Nongkhon school.
The school offers educational and learning support to children who have difficulty with speech and language, are deaf, blind, on the autism spectrum, or have emotional and behavioral issues.
The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin (RCRHH) has been a crucial supporter of the new school project since the groundbreaking ceremony in May 2022 and the cheque presentation in June of the same year.
The school, which is located in the Black Mountain area has also been backed by Bangkok based media platform Ejan, which is well known for its support of worthy causes, to help publicize the need for new school facilities.
David’s older sister Sharon, who was autistic, passed away in December 2022, and due to severe weather conditions in America at the time, he was unable to attend the funeral. Instead, he donated the cost of the airline tickets to this project.
The second donation of 67,780 Thai Baht was raised by Lizzy Ginsel, founder of the MCC Charity Community (MCC), supported by John Laroche through organizing fundraising events in 2022. Both donations were presented to Jan and her team from E-Jan.
The school project is well ahead of schedule, with 90% completion, and is due to open in July of this year. Many of the classrooms have been tastefully decorated and completed, and the quality of the building, design, materials, and artwork is fantastic. E-Jan intends to use this school design as a model for future special needs schools.
The next phase of the project will start soon to construct six houses for the teachers who will work at the school. However, an additional 500,000 Thai Baht is necessary to complete the audio sensory room and provide the required equipment to offer a modern learning environment for children with learning difficulties at the school.

FROM HOLIDAY HOME TO THRIVING BUSINESS: THE INSPIRING JOURNEY
OF ‘MR M’ AND FERIOR INTERIOR IN HUA HIN
What was supposed to be a one week holiday trip to Indonesia in the beginning of 2020 turned into a life changing event for Morten Soegaard and his family.
The pandemic put a halt for the Soegaard family to return to their home based in Shanghai so they decided to reroute their plans and stay in their holiday home south of Hua Hin until further notice. Weeks turned into months and with that a life that they could never have imagined.
The lockdown seemed to increasingly make it difficult for them to return to their lives as they’ve known it for the past 17 years. The Soegaard family was stranded in Thailand and had to make a decision. At the same time, Morten was facing the challenges of working remotely for a Danish based company with a subsidiary in Shanghai, without having the possibility of physically quality controlling the work due to the travel restrictions. As time passed, Morten and his wife found themselves juggling a few ideas.
Morten or “Mr. M” as the locals call him is a man of all trades. His entrepreneurial spirit has led him to numerous ventures, everything from creating convenience stores for petrol stations in Ukraine and Russia to having a company offering sailing trips with a historical, wooden sailing boat in Denmark and now the latest being Ferior Interior, a Hua Hin based furniture company.
The idea of creating an interior company in Hua Hin, sparked when the Soegaard family had to refurbish their holiday home into a permanent residence. They soon realized that there was room for another furniture company and the idea became a realization on 1st of October 2020 when Ferior Interior opened the doors to their 3 storey showroom on Petchkasem road.
Starting out with one furniture line, the company gradually extended the supply by adding more furniture within a short period of time. Visitors would also have the possibility to inspect their potential purchase and while enjoying a delicious pastry at the in-house café MY Honeypie. The concept expanded even further when the opportunity of adding custom made kitchens as part of their products arose. The kitchens quickly became one of their best sellers.
The original vision of becoming a turn key supplier started to take form and with feedback from clients about the simplicity of having one supplier was a confirmation for Morten that he was on the right path. Today, Ferior Interior is catering towards
hotels, schools, condominium complexes, fitness centers and private residences with their holistic eye for interior design and manufacturing. With their own factory in Bangkok, Ferior Interior has no limitations in what is possible which also reflects the company’s tagline - “Your imagination, our creation”.
With a dedicated, creative and skilled team, the company has grown beyond what was forecasted. Their success story has led them to serving a clientele not only based in Hua Hin but all over Thailand, for instance in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and on Koh Samui.
Ferior Interior is certainly making dreams come true with their high quality, custom made furniture and interior design.

THIS IS WHAT TOURISTS TO HUA HIN WILL LOOK LIKE IN 2033
indicated by a 70% preference for familiar technologies over 30% preference for new and emerging ones. This extends into their experience as well.
They’re less likely to have changed jobs or sought out new vocational skills in the past year (compared to other Traveler Tribes) and have low to medium income levels.
It also reinforces their preference for habit, and they’re 24% more loss averse than other travelers. This means the future is a daunting prospect for them.
In brief: the two main types of tourists who are likely to visit Hua Hin in 2033:
Pioneering Pathfinders
● Young, tech-savvy travelers
● Always looking for new experiences
● Likely to be interested in sustainable tourism practices
● Trust AI to plan all aspects of travel
Astudy by Amadeus, the world’s leading global provider of travel technology solutions, has given an insight into the tourist of the future.
Attendees at the May meeting of the Royal Coast Riviera Club saw a presentation from Anthony Hoglund, Vice President & General Counsel, Asia Pacific for Amadeus who revealed the different types of tourists who are most likely to visit Hua Hin and Thailand over the next decade.
The Amadeus Traveler Tribes 2033 study was released earlier this year and aimed to identify how 1.947bn travelers will evolve over the next 10 years based on their developing traits, behaviors, and preferences.
The study surveyed 10,345 travelers from 15 countries and collected 5.84 million data points and study identified four Traveler Tribes:
Pioneering Pathfinders: Young, tech-savvy travelers who are always looking for new experiences.
Memory Makers: Older travelers who are more traditional in their travel behaviors.
Excited Experimentalists: Travelers who are excited about the future of travel but are also concerned about the impact of technology on travel.
Travel Tech-fluencers: Travelers who are influential in the travel space and are always looking for the latest and greatest travel technology.
The study predicts that the tourists who visit destinations in Thailand in 2033 will be a diverse group, with a wide range of interests and motivations. However, there are a few key trends that are likely to shape the future of tourism in Hua Hin.
One of the most significant trends is the rise of the Pioneering Pathfinders. These are young, tech-savvy travelers who are always looking for new experiences, who are aged between 23 and 41. They are drawn to Hua Hin for its laid-back atmosphere, its beautiful beaches, and its rich history and culture. They are also likely to be interested in sustainable tourism practices.
According to the report, Pioneering Pathfind-
ers have an above-average income that lets them live a progressive, fast-paced life, always looking for their next big adventure. They’re forward looking because over 50% own a VR headset, NFT, or smart speaker (much higher ownership compared to other Traveler Tribes).
And they’re fast paced because they’re open to calculated risk. That’s why 43% have invested in stocks/shares and 65% own cryptocurrency.
Pioneering Pathfinders don’t buy technology for show. They consider functionality too. For example, 68% own a smart fitness tracker. This is because they know they need to manage their fast-paced lives, especially with a family to care for. As a result, 79% say that health and well-being dictate their decisions.
Despite their fast-paced lifestyle, the Pioneering Pathfinders have an emerging sensitive side. They care about the planet – already in 2023, 42% own an electric car. And they’re more likely than other Traveler Tribes to volunteer in their local community.
In 2033, Memory Makers are also likely to make up the majority of tourists visiting Hua Hin.
According to the report, 44% of Memory Makers are aged 42 or older. This means they’re habitual,
● 65% of the Pioneering Pathfinders already own cryptocurrency
● Prefer global hotel chains compared to local hotel chains
● They expect sustainable accommodation to mirror their own sustainable behaviors
Memory Makers
● Older travelers
● More traditional in their travel behaviors
● Put people first and place less value on technology and sustainability
● Distrust technology and will be less likely than other travelers to trust AI when planning their trip
● Despite their skepticism about technology, the Memory Makers are excited about VR and AR preview tours
● Given their low income and aversion to loss, justifying value for money is key
● They prefer websites over apps
By understanding the needs and wants of these two main types of tourists, businesses in Hua Hin can better position themselves to attract and serve them in the years to come.

Dr Thanachai Theerapattanavong,
SELECTING THE RIGHT NEEDLE FOR BLOOD SAMPLE COLLECTION
www.healthlabclinic.com
Greetings to all followers. Today we will discuss using different needle types for blood sample collection, especially for a health check-up.
We frequently encounter patients who are afraid of needles, are bedridden, have kidney disease that causes their body to be swollen, are obese, or have such small blood vessels that you can hardly find them, as well as a small child who is thin and wriggling due to his fear of having blood drawn.
All of this makes it critical that we support patients and select the appropriate needle for the circumstance, especially for a more complex and serious list of tests such as hemolysis and the quantity of blood required.
The needle that is often used for blood collection ranges in size from No. 24 to No. 21. "The smaller the number, the bigger the needle" --- Yes, we are saying that needle No. 21 will be larger than the needle No. 24. There are also needles No. 16 and 18 that are used to draw blood from blood donors.
Needle No. 21 is the one we usually use to take blood samples for blood analysis. Although it is a large size needle, do not be alarmed as it is typically used for those with large arteries, and there are many benefits that come with a large size needle. For instance, using a big needle enable the service provider to draw blood more quickly, reducing the time needed to draw the syringe and easing any anxiety/fear that some people experience while having their blood drawn. The bigger needle mouth makes it easier to draw blood for examination, which reduces the risk of hemolysis (certain blood tests that have undergone hemolysis cannot be used). However, there are also some disadvantages, such as causing more pain.
Even after piercing the skin with the needle, it can be challenging to locate certain people's blood vessels, so we will have to carefully assess each case before deciding which needle to use and selecting the appropriate size. It may be either needle No. 21 or No. 24. For instance, if the back of the hand needs to be punctured, the nerves there normally unction too effectively, causing the puncture to be more painful than the crook of the arm. In this case, small needles have the benefit of hurting less, but they also have the drawbacks of possibly causing hemolysis, taking longer to collect blood, and tugging the syringe.
In addition to selecting the appropriate needle, we must also select the appropriate syringe to ensure enough blood is drawn for the examination. If you need to retake the blood because the result is critical, you may need to use a small needle since the blood vessels are small, but if you need a lot of blood, you must use a large syringe. This would make drawing blood more difficult, increasing the risk of hemolysis. There are numerous things and details to which we must pay close attention...
Therefore, when we use a large needle, it is not because we wish to cause more pain to the patients but because we must be very meticulous in this regard. To avoid any problems for the patients, we must evaluate all the requirements and appropriateness while selecting a needle for blood collection. For example, we aim to prevent patients from getting bruised and having to retake the blood test because the obtained blood was unusable. There is also a matter of equipment that must be new, clean, safe, and never been reused. Another essential concern is that we, as service providers, must have skills and expertise and have been trained to take blood correctly.
BANGKOK HOSPITAL HUA HIN TRAINS HUA HIN
TODAY READERS IN BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin successfully conducted its 13th BDMS Basic Life Support Training Course on Monday May 15, 2023, at Holiday Inn Vana Nava.
The event, which was organised in collaboration with Hua Hin Today, aimed to equip the residents of Hua Hin and surrounding areas with essential life-saving skills.
The opening ceremony of the event was presided over by Dr. Pongsak Boonyaleephun, Assistant Hospital Director of Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin, and Mr. Jonathan Fairfield, Editor-in-Chief of Hua Hin Today.
The hospital has been organizing this training program since 2022 and intends to continue to do so to promote basic knowledge of life-saving skills and instill confidence in participants to provide proper emergency life support to patients before medical personnel arrive.
The training program, which was attended by 60 people, covered both theoretical and practical aspects of Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and choking.
Participants were equipped with knowledge and skills to provide emergency life support and save lives even if they are not medical professionals.
At the end of the course, participants received a certificate from BDMS, recognizing their knowledge and skills in providing emergency life support. The certificate serves as proof that they have the skills to save lives during emergency situations.
The BDMS Basic Life Support Training Course is an essential initiative by Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin to promote community safety.
The hospital is committed to providing quality healthcare services and continuously strives to educate the public on basic life-saving skills.
The hospital hopes that more individuals in the community will take part in future training programs
to ensure that Hua Hin remains a safe and healthy place to live.
“I’m really proud and it’s a real privilege that Hua Hin Today has been able to work with Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin in order to help bring this excellent initiative to groups of people in Hua Hin who may not ordinarily have access to such a course,” said Jonathan Fairfield, Editor-in-Chief of Hua Hin Today.
“These techniques are simple to learn, but they can make a big difference in someone's life.”
“I would like to thank Dr Pongsak and his team from Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin for their partnership in this event. Their qualified instructors provided attendees with the training they needed to potentially save someone’s life”.
“I would also like to thank everyone who took part in the course. We had a great response to the event and will look at the possibility of organising similar events later this year.”
DEHYDRATION A COMMONLY OVERLOOKED ETIOLOGY
When patients complain of musculoskeletal pain, headaches, or constipation, I always ask, "How much water do you drink daily?" A typical response is, I drink two cups of coffee in the morning, one or two glasses of wine with dinner... So many people overlook that a lack of water can cause health problems or that specific signs / symptoms can be associated with dehydration.
As we age, we begin to lose our thirst mechanism through chronic dehydration, and our cells lose as much as 20 percent of their water content, leading to dysfunction. In my professional practice, I've seen a variety of main chronic illnesses connected with dehydration, including as
Hydration and Pain: Dehydration can exacerbate chronic muscle and joint pain, slow the healing rate, and increase the chances of injury. Water helps hydrate discs between the
vertebrae in your spine and prevents your tendons, ligaments, and muscles from becoming tight and stiff. Proper hydration can help reduce pain and protect your joints and muscles by keeping the cartilage soft and pliable.
Headache: When our bodies are dehydrated, they experience a decrease in blood volume. And headaches can occur when our brains aren't
getting enough blood flow. Dehydration headaches can be mild or severe. They can be felt in one specific area of the head or all over, and they usually get worse with movement. Some migraine sufferers even report dehydration as a trigger for their attacks.
Hypertension: High blood pressure is standard in chronically dehydrated people. When the body's cells lack water, the brain sends a signal to the pituitary gland to secrete vasopressin, a chemical that causes constriction of the blood vessels. It causes blood pressure to increase, which leads to hypertension.
After waking up in the morning, suggest drinking one cup of room-temperature water. Keep sipping water every hour. Men try to be about 3 liters of water daily, and women are about 2 liters each day. Hydration, it's a simple solution to some severe and complicated health conditions.
THE BENEFITS OF LAUGHTER – IT’S NO JOKE.
you laugh without any particular reason.
These exercises trigger laughter from within, helping you tap into your natural joy and sense of humour. It may sound unconventional, but it could be enjoyable and beneficial. You can find laughter yoga sessions on YouTube or contact your nearest yoga studio to learn more.
Another way to incorporate more laughter into your life is to seek opportunities to be silly and playful, such as by turning up the music, letting go, and dancing around the living room (a personal favourite). It’s those moments when nobody is watching that I can freely experiment with all the silly dance moves I want and find myself laughing at the sheer delight of it. I highly encourage everyone to try it, as it’s guaranteed to lift your spirits and elevate your mood.
We all know how humour and a touch of laughter can transform the ordinary into memorable moments. I once had a colleague with an incredible sense of humour and an uncanny ability to find the comedic side of any situation.
One day I walked into the office and noticed her sipping on a sugary drink; I couldn’t resist commenting on the high sugar content and how it wasn’t healthy. In response, she looked up, smiled and casually said, “If it tastes good, it is healthy.” The entire office, including myself, burst into laughter.
After returning from lunch and complaining about the scorching heat outside, she glanced at me, smiled, and amusingly remarked, “Yes, it is hot, but we are hotter.” Once again, her quirky reply had us in stitches.
She was one of the funniest people I knew. Unfortunately, she left the company, but I’m sure that wherever she went, she continued to sprinkle her magical humour, brightening everyone’s day.
The truth behind the significance of laughter is no joke. When we laugh, our bodies release endorphins, which act as natural painkillers and mood enhancers. These endorphins reduce stress, boost our immune system, and promote overall well-being.
Laughter possesses a superpower that can heal wounds and strengthen bonds -- natural responses to something humourous. It increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain, improving cognitive function and memory. It also plays a role in emotional well-being by reducing feelings of depression and anxiety.
Laughter can benefit people with chronic illnesses by providing a much-needed break from physical and emotional stress. As the adage has it, laughter truly is the best medicine.
It also brings forth a wealth of social benefits.
Laughing with others strengthens our relationships and fosters a sense of connection and belonging. Laughter breaks down social barriers, creating a shared experience that can be particularly valuable when people feel isolated or disconnected.
So, when was the last time you had a belly laugh? It might be worth seeking opportunities to laugh more if it has been a while. Let’s explore some more ways to get our giggles going.
This could include watching comedy shows or movies, spending time with friends who make you laugh or even just practicing laughing alone.
One way to practice laughing alone or with friends is through laughter yoga. Laughter yoga is a unique exercise that incorporates laughter as a central component. In a laughter yoga session, you might engage in activities like “Gibberish,” making nonsensical sounds or “Laughter Meditation,” where
Most importantly, let us always remember that laughter is contagious. One of our most precious gifts is the ability to laugh at ourselves. When we find humour in our imperfections, quirks, and even our rigid plans, we embrace a mindset of self-acceptance and resilience. By learning to laugh at our foibles, we free ourselves from the burdens of self-judgment. Instead, we open ourselves to humility.
Laughing at ourselves reminds us of our shared humanity and often brings us closer to others as they can relate to our struggles and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.
So, as we navigate life’s twists and turns, let’s remember the transformative power of laughter and cultivate the ability to laugh at ourselves. For laughter not only lightens our hearts but spreads joy and happiness to those around us –something we all need more of.

It is also interesting to know that tourists prefer pool villas or home stay to stay during their holidays rather than spending a night in a chained hotel. As they will be able to experience the feeling of being local and feel like living in their own homes from the cosy and warm welcome landlords provided to the guests. There is a rise in popularity of pool villas among those travelling in groups as they appreciate the "home away from home" feeling as well as the sense of privacy.
Let’s look into this together as our Lazudi Property Expert is here to help explain about the rising trend as well as a simple tip on how to remain profitable even when you’re away (from home).
As the third quarter of 2023 is approaching, it is interesting to know what the travel trend for both locals and tourists has turned out to be like. Do people prefer to experience more local experiences as opposed to others? Is getting to experience the local culture becoming increasingly popular? Our Lazudi Property expert today is Lazudi’s Sales and Rental Manager Ronny Svaleng who has extensive knowledge and experience with sales and holiday rental. According to Mr. Svaleng, there is not one correct answer to this question, but we do think all tourists from abroad do appreciate the local Thai hospitality and the Thai smile whenever they are on a sport holiday for golf, yoga, Kiting or other sport activities, or family holiday or just want a relaxing holiday. People travel to Thailand for various reasons, but the smile is always there among the locals.
First, when it comes to long term lease and short term rental, Ronny Svaleng said that what people prefer depends entirely on their travel objectives. If they come here for a holiday, a short term lease could be an answer. This is so guests can try living and experiencing around the area. They can experiment and see if they like where they are living before proceeding to sign a long term lease. However, for those who travel for vacation or for short term weekend getaway, they tend to go for a short term rental.
Speaking of short term rental, what if we have a beautiful home and would like to generate income, what could we do? When asked Mr. Svaleng suggested that as tourism and holiday rental homes is becoming more popular, many property owners begin to rent out their property and make earnings from it. However, property maintenance is not always an easy task, so that’s where a Holiday Rental Program is here for. At Lazudi, we offer holiday rental programs from tailor-made pricing strategies to property maintenance and cleaning services. Landlords and property owners can rest assured that their properties are in good hands and are well-looked after even when they’re away.
Mr. Svaleng also further explained that there is no need to worry about the long and complicated processes as listing properties in this program is not difficult at all. All you need to do is reach out to us, have a talk, and we’ll help you do the rest in no time. How we differentiate ourselves from others is we have a great balance between the personal aspect and technology. This means we create personalised strategies for property owners as well as utilise our tools to help generate income and help property owners get the most out of their properties.
Lastly, a word of advice from our Property Expert on how to make your home standout is that “Every home can stand out. However, the general rule for a property to stand out is for it to be in a great condition. It should be clean and tidy. Most of all it should be cosy and welcoming for it to feel comfortable and like home.”
That’s it for today’s article. We hope that this article is beneficial to you one way or another. And for those looking for property in Hua Hin whether for buy, sell, rent or interested in the Holiday Rental Program, please feel free to contact us today at Lazudi

HUA HIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
CELEBRATES GRADUATING STUDENTS OF 2023
On Friday, 19th May, Hua Hin International School (HHIS) bid a proud farewell to its second cohort of graduating students. This diverse group of students, having completed their International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations a day prior, now embarks on their individual journeys toward university education, employment, and career training across the globe.
The graduation event was attended by family, friends and teachers, and marked a major milestone in the lives of the graduates. Many among them were part of the school’s founding and formative classes when it opened its doors in 2015, making the occasion a particularly special celebration of their growth and progress at HHIS.
Throughout the heartwarming ceremony, a thread of admiration, respect and nostalgia wove a tapestry of warm wishes and fond memories, as expressed by several teachers who had closely accompanied the students on their academic journey. Lewis Chalk, Head of Secondary, commended the collective accomplishment of the students in successfully completing their IB program and secondary school studies but also explicitly acknowledged the shared journey that brought them to this pivotal point. These students have thrown themselves into life within the school, but also in the wider community, initiating clean-up days, fundraising events and leading educational experiences that aim to make a difference to the lives of people involved.
The graduation ceremony was also testament to the resilience and tenacity of these students, who have overcome a multitude of challenges throughout their journey, not least the impact of a global pandemic. “No matter the challenge, they have risen to it,” declared IB Coordinator David Coulson, reflecting a proud sentiment shared by the entire HHIS community.
Throughout the ceremony, the various speakers emphasised the deep sense of community service and environmental responsibility. Their commitment to making a difference didn’t stop at their doorstep.
They extended these experiences to a remote village in Surin, showcasing their capacity to lead and make a difference. Moreover, their compassion was evident in their outreach work: they have partnered with the Jungle Aid Foundation, the Bright Dawn Foundation and Operation Smile. This commitment to service culminated in Year 13 when they helped organise the collection and delivery of over 300 shoeboxes filled with necessities and gifts for children across the province.
For these students, it’s always been about contributing to something larger than themselves. “They even built a wall!” Mr. David exclaimed, referring to a service project they recently undertook in Chiang Mai, emphasizing their hands-on commitment to tangible change.
The Year 13 students of 2023 are truly change-makers and each of them will continue to make a substantial and meaningful impact long after their time at HHIS has drawn to a close. This captures the essence of this diverse group of graduates: scholars, artists, environmental stewards, community volunteers, and future leaders. Jeremy Stokes, who was the first form tutor for some of the graduates when they first arrived at HHIS as 10-year olds, presented each student with a personalised photobook of memories, encapsulating their shared experiences in a form that the students could carry forward. This gesture reinforced the strong bond between students and teachers, while providing a lasting keepsake of their formative years at the school. Graduates Alma and Robert also took to the stage to represent their peers. They delivered moving speeches, reminiscing about their memorable times at HHIS and the friendships formed. The sense of deep personal connection to their classmates, teachers and community was clear.
Combined, the speakers painted a comprehensive and multi-dimensional picture of the students’ journeys at HHIS, which was enhanced by a video compilation showcasing the achievements and memories of the graduating class at HHIS, eliciting both laughter and
nostalgia. The ceremony concluded with an emotional speech from Head Teacher, Julie Way, who wished the students well and thanked them for their contributions to the school. As she prepares for her retirement in June after 8 successful years at the school, Ms. Julie’s speech was especially poignant, leaving not a dry eye in the room.
The graduation ceremony marked not only the end of an era for the graduates, but also a promise of the wonderful future that awaits them. The entire HHIS community wishes them all the very best in their future endeavours.
We’ve grown into individuals within a collective, we are all unique in the best ways possible, and I think we are ready for the opportunities and challenges that await us when we will leave the school gates. Alma, Year 13 Graduating Student
All those memories that I’ve made with every single one of you will be with me till the day I die… Let’s show them what we’re made of and make each other proud. Robert, Year 13 Graduating Student
Where to next?
For the HHIS graduating class of 2023, the future holds very exciting possibilities. The university offers received by the Year 13 students include:

LOVE WITHOUT BORDERS: THE HEARTWARMING STORY OF PAUL’S JOURNEY TO A LOVING ADOPTIVE FAMILY
Paul Laffisse’s story is a testament to the power of love and family, transcending borders and cultures. Born in Pathum Thani and having spent the first two years of his life in Lopburi, Paul was adopted by a French family and grew up in the Roy d’Espagne district of Marseille.
Growing up in France, Paul faced his share of struggles, particularly when it came to his identity. Despite being raised in a loving and supportive family, he encountered ignorance and prejudice from some of those around him.
Being a person of colour in a predominantly white community made him feel like an outsider at times, and he struggled to reconcile his Thai roots with his French upbringing.
However, through it all, Paul remained determined and resilient, using his experiences to educate others and inspire change.
Paul Laffisse is taking part in a six month internship with Hua Hin Today.
This is his story about adoption.
My Life, My Story
Family relationships, the perspective on my country of birth, the need to connect with other adoptees, and how I see my future...
My name is Paul Laffisse or Phadungdet Phatkhew (my Thai first and last name), born in PathumThani (north of Bangkok) on July 26th, 2003, although my parents lived in Lopburi. I was adopted at the age of 2 (in 2005) by a French family.
The day, exactly was May 24th, 2005 and it marked one of the major changes in my life.
Before we went to France, my family and I stayed a few extra weeks in Thailand (in Bangkok) so that I could keep some familiarity. Quickly, strong bonds were formed between me and my adoptive family.
My arrival in my adoptive family was undoubtedly one of the best things that could have happened to me.
I have adopted my parents and my brother as much as they have adopted me. However, this integration has not been easy within the extended family.
One of the most painful memories I have had is the day I met my paternal grandfather who told me, “I don’t like Asians.”
Following this, my parents and my older brother decided not to speak to him anymore until my grandfather went to see my brother to ask what was wrong. He told him, “if you don’t accept my little brother, I will never speak to you again.”
Realizing the cruelty of his remark, my grandfather came to see me to apologize. This
moment will forever be etched in my mind because there was no doubt that my older brother (Olivier) was defending me as if I were his blood brother. Very quickly, a strong bond was formed between me and him, and today this bond is stronger than ever. It’s indestructible.
Since I was a little child, my parents understood the importance of maintaining ties with my country of birth (Thailand), which is why I took Thai language courses, listened to Thai music, and visited Buddhist temples to prevent too wide a gap from forming between me, a Frenchman, and my country of origin.
In May 2010, my parents, my brother, and I moved to Jingdezhen in China.
These two years made me realize that living in China was not so foreign to me because there are many cultural similarities between Thailand and China.
Being confronted with a culture close to that of my country of origin represented a kind of “return to my roots”. The locals integrated and accepted me very quickly, which strongly marked me. In fact, I had no problem making Chinese friends with whom I kept in touch until COVID. Unlike me, my older brother Olivier had a hard time being accepted because he did not have the “Asian look”.
Another noteworthy fact is that when I arrived in France, I was too thin for my age and did not appreciate French food (except for sausages, whose Thai word “Saiklong” I still remember).
However, upon our arrival in China, given the similarities between Chinese and Thai food, I had no problem eating local food. The flavors of China made me think of Thailand. Looking back, I understand that my “culinary memory” was triggered and gave me the feeling of being in my country of origin.
In addition to this, when I arrived in France, my parents made me listen to Chinese music to remind me of Asia. So, since I was 2 years old, I have been immersed in a universe very much focused on Asia. In essence, it is as if my country of origin had never left me.
Regarding the perception of my birth country, in my experience, opinions are very divided.
Indeed, some people see Thailand as an extraordinary country with incredible, beautiful landscapes, etc. On the other hand, I have heard all sorts of tasteless remarks such as: “How can you tell if Thai girls are really girls? Aren’t they transvestites?”
Fortunately, the more time goes by, the more I learn to put things into perspective regarding these kinds of remarks that used to hurt me.
I remember one time when I was about 13 or 14 years old, I was asked, “So, are you trans?”
I think that from that moment on, I started to question the “reputation” that my country of birth had.
Looking back, I realized that it was a naive and “stupid” question because ultimately it was just formed from an ignorant stereotype.
Time has allowed me to understand that no matter what others say or think, we must learn to ignore their words because they do not define who we are as a person.
Fairly recently, I have become involved with an organisation that offers support to adoptees such as myself.
The association ‘La Voix des Adoptés’ (or The Voice of Adoptees) represents to me the best way to talk about adoption with people who have had a different journey than mine and thus have a complementary or even new perspective on adoption.
Although I have only been a member of the association for a few months, I immediately felt at
ease because I was able to meet with people in the same situation as me, but also because unconsciously, I always wanted to share my experience. Seizing the opportunity to be able to share about my experience with people other than my close ones was important to me.
The main reason why I decided to join “La Voix des Adoptés” is that when I told people that I was adopted, their behavior suddenly changed and they looked at me with a sad expression, asking, “Are you okay? Do you feel good? I wouldn’t want to be in your place.”
It was at that moment that I thought it was necessary to change their minds or at least show them all the positive aspects of adoption. It’s not a “flaw” but an extraordinary opportunity that we should take advantage of every moment. Every day, I wake up in a loving and secure environment.
Indeed, in my opinion, adoption is a kind of adventure that adoptive parents and the adopted child embark on. Obviously, at the beginning, the child is “taken away” from their country of origin, but if they have been chosen by the parents, it is because they have a lot of love to give them. However, an adoption must be done in both directions: the child must equally accept and adopt their parents as they will.
There will always be ups and downs because nothing is perfect, but in my opinion, communication is the key to a successful adoption. I remember an incident that happened at the beginning of the COVID pandemic: it was in March 2020, I was returning from my ski vacation and went to greet a classmate, but he refused to greet me and said, “Sorry, but since you’re Asian, I won’t greet you.” It was proof that for him, and only him, because I’m Asian, I must have something to do with the virus. Realizing the ridiculousness of the situation, I decided not to say anything and just walked away: there will always be stupid remarks like this despite my very good integration in France.
Regarding my future: my dream has always been to live and work in Asia.
To “facilitate” this dream, my parents and I bought an apartment in Hua Hin just before COVID. Earlier this year I began a six month internship at Hua Hin Today as part of my studies into journalism.
This period of my life is not only an opportunity for me to revisit my birth country, but it will undoubtedly help confirm my desire to live and work in Asia.
I am also using this time as an opportunity to represent La Voix des Adoptés in Bangkok and to develop the human and logistical support network to all adoptees and adoptive parents.

With junior golfers from across Asia already signed up to the academy’s full program, this firstof-its-kind initiative garnered significant interest from parents of junior golfers throughout the region. The J-AGA summer camp, which was held between May 22-28, aimed to provide a glimpse into the academy’s unique educational and training experience for prospective students.
Creating a friendly and inclusive environment, the camp allowed students to familiarize themselves with the rigors of studying at J-AGA.
The golf coaches and teachers at J-AGA played a pivotal role in guiding the students, imparting the necessary skills and offering valuable insights into their future academic journey.
J-AGA’s, Head of School, Dr. Cell Dilon expressed his enthusiasm about the summer camp,
highlighting the camaraderie and the tremendous opportunities it offered to the young golfers.
Participants left the camp with a sense of excitement, fully aware of what lies ahead for them when they begin their academic year at J-AGA.
The camp attracted a total of 12 students from three different countries, who were supported by a team of three experienced coaches. The coaching team included Alan Murdoch, the Director of Golf at J-AGA, Andy Combs, the J-AGA Blue Canyon head coach, and Marco Scopetta, a distinguished PGA instructor from Legend Arena.
The camp was organized by Dhananjay Singh, who serves as the Data Collection Coach, Training Coordinator, and Head of Tournament Planning at J-AGA, in collaboration with the Black Mountain team. The program offered 7 days of training, lectures, and social activities plus 4 rounds of 18-hole golf.
Starting every morning with breakfast and physical training at 6 am, the students and parents participating all went to bed with a smile although tired from a full day of practice.
The intense program was designed to give the students some tools to work with in their training after the camp giving them direction in their training moving forward.
“The JAGA summer camp was a huge success,” said Dr. Cell Dilon. After meeting the coach and teachers, and seeing first-hand the quality of what we have to offer here at Black Mountain, many of the summer camp students have signed up to the full time 2023-24 academic program, which is now nearly fully subscribed.”
“The parents and students really made this so enjoyable for us all at JAGA and we are very happy to be able to offer this opportunity to our players, so please stay tuned for more of this in the future,” he added.
With the resounding success of its inaugural summer camp, J-AGA has solidified its position as a leading institution of its kind for aspiring junior golfers.
As the academy continues to attract talented young players from across Asia, it sets a new standard in combining academic excellence with professional golf training.

HOW TO QUICKLY GAIN CONFIDENCE
Not a lot of people are as confident as they would like to be. Yet self-confidence is incredibly important because it shows in all that we do.
The good news is, the idea that you have of yourself is created by yourself. It is only a premise. A simple idea you have built your entire personality on. More good news? That means YOU can change it as well!
The easiest way to improve your selfconfidence is to follow up on your own words.
Do what you told yourself you were going to do.
What makes a person trustworthy?
If they say what they do and they do what they say.
So if you cannot trust yourself? Why would you be confident in your own presence?
Your thinking makes it so
You are what you think you are.
If you believe you are someone that is anxious in crowded rooms, there is a high chance you act like someone that experiences anxiety in crowded rooms.
If you feel important, you probably act like someone that feels that they are important.
How you think determines how you act. And how you act determines how others respond to you.
If you want to gain confidence, start to feed your mind a steady diet of thoughts of confidence and courage.
Become that person, NOW
The very first question you need to ask yourself is; how do I want to be seen? How do I want others to experience my company?
Would you like to be seen at your best? When you speak, would you like to speak your best?
If you are speaking in front of a group and all you think about is not panicking, not stuttering, etc. High chance that is EXACTLY what will happen.
Like it or not, your appearance “talks.” Be sure it says positive things about you. Never leave home without feeling certain you look like the kind of person you want to be.
And, if you want to convey confidence, you can’t display a “broken body.” Unfortunately, in our society, it’s common to see people with bodies that turn inward or downward.
Do you see anybody slouching in Greek sculpture? No, the bodies go upward. Your spine should reach up and so should your head. You must always be conscious of aspiring upward. That’s true even when you sit down. If you let your whole body sink down when you sit, you’re revealing a lack of confidence.
The same is true for your voice. To be confident, you can’t have a voice that mumbles. Speak up and speak clearly.
When you start looking and acting like the person you want to become, your new attitude will not only talk to you, it will talk to others. As you begin acting differently, you will quickly earn more respect and attention from everyone around you.
Experience builds confidence
Eleanor Roosevelt said, “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” That is excellent advice.
A lack of confidence is surmounted by taking action. Think about the times in your life when you did something that was in an area you’d never been in before. You weren’t confident you could do it at first, but the more you did it, the more confident you became.
So as you’re thinking and acting like the person you want to become, remember that you can’t build confidence solely by sitting around thinking good thoughts. You also have to take action. As soon as you do, the fear on the inside will begin to dissipate and your confidence WILL rise.
Follow up question to ask yourself
With everything in your mind, in any situation,
in every moment of doubt, ask and answer this question;
‘What kind of person do I want to be?”
You told yourself, from now on snoozing is out of my habitual behavior.
The alarm clock goes, and you are awake. You hear a voice saying, “Snooze it, you deserve it.”
ASK THE QUESTION!
What kind of person do I want to be? Do I want to be that person that snoozes and loses? Loss of energy just by having no discipline and starting the day with a loss already? (Broken promise gives our subconscious mind a negative state. We did not keep our word.)
OR, do I want to be that kind of person that does what he/she says and starts the day with a victory over my negative voice and therefore puts himself in a better mood?
Do what you told yourself you were going to do and celebrate the moments you achieved what you said you wanted to achieve. Build confidence through baby steps at first, you will feel, think, and act differently in no time!

HAVE YOU TRIED HUA HIN'S MOST FAMOUS STEAMED BUNS? AS POPULAR
NOW AS THEY WERE 40 YEARS AGO!
So you live in Hua Hin and think you know the local food scene, right?
But if you haven't tried the famous Mantou and Salapao steamed buns sold by Khun Suikim Sae Ngow, you have to ask yourself: what have you been doing?
For over 40 years, Suikim's steamed buns have been a must-try for locals and tourists alike, earning her a reputation as one of the best Salapao sellers in all of Thailand.
Freshly made every day using traditional methods, these large and hearty steamed buns that are cooked over charcoal are a meal in themselves and come in a variety of flavors.
Khun Suikim's Mantou and Salapao are made fresh every day using 10 kg of flour. She and her son, Thanakrit Phichan Norachon, can be found most evenings at the top of Soi 70 near Hua Hin's Chatchai Fresh Market, selling their steamed buns to locals and tourists alike. The only days they don't sell are Sundays and Buddhist holy days.
Khun Suikim's Mantou and Salapao are made using traditional methods. She kneads, mixes, hits, and molds the dough before steaming it over a charcoal stove. The result is a large and hearty steamed bun that people queue down the street for each evening.
Khun Suikim's stall can sell up to 400 buns each day, and once they're gone, they're gone!
It's not uncommon to see a long line of people waiting patiently for their chance to savor these delicious steamed buns. The aroma of the freshly steamed buns wafts through the air, enticing even more customers to join the queue.
The Mantou and Salapao come in three flavors: black bean (white), pumpkin (yellow), and coffee (brown).
The pumpkin and coffee steamed buns cost 20 baht each, while the minced pork steamed buns cost 30 baht each.
When asked about the secret to her delicious Mantou and Salapao, Khun Suikim says it's simply down to experience and using good quality ingredients.
She says that her and her son know exactly how to knead, mix, and mold the dough to get the perfect texture. They also use high-quality flour and ingredients, which adds to the flavor and freshness of the steamed buns.
Khun Suikim's Mantou and Salapao have gained widespread recognition, and she has been featured in many articles, TV shows, and YouTube videos. Her customers come from far and wide to sample her steamed buns, and many have become regulars over the years. Her popularity shows no sign of waning and at 85 years old, Suikim Sae Ngow is still going strong.
Recently, Khun Suikim's famous Mantou and Salapao stall was visited by Ms. Pailin Kongphan, the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin. Ms. Pailin expressed her admiration for Khun Suikim and her son
She also commented that their establishment is well-known throughout Hua Hin as the "Tao Tan Steamed Buns," thanks to the especially aged and unchanged taste that has kept customers coming back for years.
Ms. Pailin noted that both locals and tourists make a point to stop by and enjoy the delicious steamed buns. She added that Khun Suikim's continued success and recognition by local authorities is a testament to the quality and consistency of her Mantou and Salapao.
Khun Suikim's story is an inspiration to many, showing that age is just a number when it comes to pursuing one's passion. Her dedication to her craft and her commitment to providing delicious steamed buns to her customers have made her a beloved figure in Hua Hin and beyond.
For anyone in Hua Hin, be sure to stop by and try Khun Suikim's famous Mantou and Salapao. You won't be disappointed!
