Colorado. Nestled in the middle of a Ponderosa pine forest it shows off rough-hewn wood buildings with covered boardwalks on both sides of the single main street. Watch the Video. Headliner for this year's festival is Nashville singer, Craig Morgan. Charley Jenkins, Kinsly Sadler, Lucus Hoge, Cappton Reid and Jessie Funk complete this year's festival line-up.

Tips from "Joe" the Travel Writer You will approach Cuchara via Highway 12, the Scenic Highway of Legends. This yearround 2-lane road was the first to be honored as one of Colorado’s Scenic Byways because of its stunning beauty, as well as its significant geological formations. Just before the road starts to rise up in front of you, you will come to the small hamlet of La Veta, reported by 9NEWS as one of the “Top 9 Places to Visit in 2015”. Get out of the car here to visit the galleries, the Francisco Fort Museum and you must order an ice cream at the soda fountain in “Charlie’s” grocery store –and take it outside to the benches. Charley Jenkins Loves Cuchara

June 13 Cuchara Country Music Festival It's no surprise that Nashville Star finalist, Charley Jenkins, will be returning to the Cuchara Country Music Festival. When asked what is it he loves about the mountain festival, Charley shouted out, "It's the setting...the atmosphere...and the people." He went on to say, "There's nothing else like it and there never will be. It's so much more than good music. The way the western style, store-fronts become the backdrop to the event and the locals all wrap their arms around you like family, you can't help but feel a bond to the area. There is no other place like this...on earth." Charley admits that the Cuchara Country Music Festival is his favorite event to perform at, and Cuchara is his favorite place to visit. He's been known to return to Cuchara for a hunting trip in the fall and again, with his family, at Christmas time.
