AFL New Zealand International Cup Individual Sponsors Information The 2017 AFL International Cup (IC17) will be held in Melbourne from Saturday August 5 to Saturday August 19, 2017. The AFL International Cup is played every three years and is the largest international Australian Rules Football event in in the world. Teams comprise solely of amateurs who must be nationals of the country they represent. In 2014 there were 25 teams (18 men’s and seven women’s teams) that represented 18 different nations. New Zealand has a proud history at the event, over the 5 tournaments never having finished lower than 3rd and winning the 2005 International Cup. Attendance at the International Cup involves a combination of player contributions, a variety of funding initiatives and sponsorship opportunities. The opportunity exists for sponsorship of individual team member of the New Zealand 2017 International Cup squad. The following benefits are available to the sponsors.
