National Poetry Day Rhyme Time 19-23 August, from 3pm Naenae Library Get inspired and create a poem or two after school at this great warm-up event for National Poetry Day.

Whitiwhiti Rotarota (Tamariki) 23 August, 11am-12:30pm Koraunui Community Hub Local tamariki are invited to read their poems with poet and storyteller Moira Wairama who'll read a selection of her poems in both MÄ ori and English. If your school is interested in participating please contact Koraunui Hub (04 562 9050).

Poetry Evening with Geraldine Brophy 23 August, 5:30pm-7pm Naenae Library Bring your favourite poem to share, discover new favourites and participate in collaborative poetry writing. Feel free to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy with your family. Our MC for the night is actress and writer, Geraldine Brophy!

Whitiwhiti Rotarota (Pakeke) 23 August, 5:30pm-7:30pm Koraunui Community Hub Read an original poem at this open mic session followed by a sumptuous selection of guest poets with our MC, the talented Moira Wairama! If you wish to participate please register at the Hub by 19 August.

Reo Rangatahi Poetry Workshop 23 August, 1pm-2:30pm War Memorial Library Join us for Reo Rangatahi, an open mic event for youth! Get experience sharing your poetry in front of an audience, or get feedback from our guest slam poet Ben Fagan who may help you take your writing to the next level!
