Reducing Our Household Rubbish: The Zero Waste Approach 7 February, 6pm-8pm War Memorial Library Join Hannah and Liam, the No-Waste Nomads behind The Rubbish Trip, for an intro to the practicalities and philosophy of waste reduction, drawing on their own research and over three years of experience living zero waste.

Bare Essentials: DIY Zero Waste Toiletries and Cleaners 9 February, 10am-12pm War Memorial Library The No-Waste Nomads will show you how to make a range of toiletries and cleaning products. BYO containers if you would like to take samples home!

Make a Pal-entine card, compete in our quick quiz (win cookies from Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar!) and watch Marvel’s: Black Panther a movie about Shuri inventing stuff without a relationship tying her down. For youth ages 13–21.

Join our regular monthly meeting of writers and would-be writers to share experiences and information, and maybe even write in good company.

The Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar bus will also be around 11am-7pm for tasty treats!

Astronomy Night: What to see in 2019 15 February, 7pm War Memorial Library Join Antony Gomez, President of the Wellington Astronomical Society, to find out what to look forward to in our night sky during 2019.

If the sky is clear, we'll go outside after the talk and look through telescopes.

Tell a Fairytale Day

Design a Cookie Competition

Draw, doodle, or describe your ideal cookie to be in to win cool prizes.

Be inspired by our fairytale display and make your favourite book character into a stick puppet.

Main prize is the opportunity to have your cookie made by Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar when their bus visits Riddiford Garden on 14 & 20 February. Pick up an entry form at any Hutt City Library or download one from our website and get creative!

Stepping UP Computer Classes

Our FREE computer classes with the 20/20 Trust are back for people with basic, or no computer skills.

Give us warm fuzzy feelings this month and share why you love your library to go in the draw for a $50 book voucher. Fill in a card at your local library during February or leave a message on our social media to be in to win!

Petone Fair Chill Out Zone 16 February, 10am-5pm Petone Library Need a bit of space at the Petone Fair? Chill out in our air-conditioned Petone Library! We'll have crafts, board games, Lego, a water refill station...and books (of course!)

New Year, New Hours! You asked for extended weekday opening hours, so we’ve delivered! We now open ½ hour earlier from Monday-Thursday at Eastbourne, Moera, Naenae, Petone and War Memorial libraries! So come on in at 9:30am, enjoy our manaakitanga and make yourself at home!

Baby Bounce & Rhyme + Preschool Storytime Did you know we run regular sessions for our littlest tamariki?
