Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) Celebrate Chinese New Year at Hutt City Libraries with the China Cultural Centre in Wellington. Enjoy a puppet show, magic and traditional papercutting. Everyone welcome at this great show for all ages! We are also hosting two special Chinese cultural workshops with the Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington. Former diplomat and HVHS student Nick Bridge, poet and China scholar Diana Bridge, and classics professor, poet and former HVHS student John Davidson take you from the Hutt Valley to China, India, Greece and beyond. A fascinating and humorous evening led by publisher Mary McCallum (The Cuba Press).

Stepping UP is back! Free classes for Lower Hutt residents with little or no computer skills. Learn the basics of using computers, including office software, internet, email and social media. Check the Hutt City Libraries website for your local library dates and times.
Library staff will help set you up with a 4G modem and provide advice on topping-up, safety and security.
