Understanding Climate Change

Gather in the Hub for a cuppa and meet other readers!

Why is the climate changing, and how? How do we know what the climate looked like in the past, and how can we say anything about the future? Get an overview of climate science with Dr James Renwick at this free public talk. No prior science knowledge is required!

Astronomy Night – The Day the Universe Changed Friday 7 June, 6pm War Memorial Library Join Antony Gomez, President of the Wellington Astronomical Society, to learn about the day the universe changed one hundred years ago on 29 May 1919 and how it opened a new era in Astronomy.

Book Launch: Arapū Toi Monday 10 June, 6pm Koraunui Community Hub Join us at the book launch of Arapū Toi, a new children’s book based on the Māori alphabet featuring poems in te reo Māori by writer and storyteller Moira Wairama with art work by Kāpiti artist Austin Whincup.
