The Ngaio Marsh Awards invites book-lovers to a lively discussion featuring four local authors (Gudrun Frerichs, Andi C Buchanan, Mark Derby, and CB Landy) chaired by book critic and Story Wizard Stephanie Soper.
Share your experiences from Lockdown at this interactive art installation with local artist Katja Starke who will record them using an old typewriter. You can then hang them out to air on our washing line, alongside other people's notes.

Hutt City Libraries and Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa offer FREE computer classes for people with basic or no computer skills.

Term 2 classes start Monday 3 May and are available at Naenae, Petone, Stokes Valley, Taita, Wainuiomata, and War Memorial Libraries. Classes in Term 2 include: Computer Basics, RealMe and MyMSD, Keeping in Touch Online, Apps for Seniors, and Internet Safety & Security.
Calling all wahine toa! Mums, aunts, stepmums, and grandmothers! Have you wanted to try your hand at building, coding, and driving a robot? Bring along your 7-11 year old daughter, grand-daughter or niece to this free workshop and find out how much fun robotics is! Spaces are limited. Registration required. Book in by emailing LibrariesEvents@huttcity.govt.nz Workshops will be facilitated by the team at Kiwibots, including female engineers, so you can ask any questions you like of someone from the STEM space!

The Hutt Valley Community Choir is an inclusive, non-auditioned, all-comers choir. They’ll be performing songs from South Africa, Madagascar, Finland, and Scotland, and will also sing songs from the Native American tradition, a waiata, and songs by New Zealand composers.
