Emergency Water Tanks Tanks can now be purchased from Eastbourne, Naenae and Petone libraries! In an emergency you’ll need at least 3 litres of water per person per day - make sure you and your whānau are prepared! The tanks cost $105, hold 200 litres, and are easy to install.

Join author Jane Tolerton for a talk on her latest book Make Her Praises Heard Afar looking at the women who cared for soldiers in 1915: doctors, nurses and volunteers in Egypt and Malta, and those who worked with the New Zealand War Contingent Association in Britain. Geothermal: a renewable resource for now and future generations with Dr Cécile Massiot Last year, Geothermal energy supplied 17% of New Zealand’s total electricity, a resource independent of weather conditions and with low CO2 emissions. Dr Cécile Massiot will discuss opportunities for geothermal heat and electricity generation across New Zealand, and exciting perspectives for the near future. Next year is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing. Plans to return to the Moon have been announced and ideas for lunar bases housing hundreds of people are being developed. Join Eric Dahlstrom (ex NASA space engineer) for a look at what we’ve learned about the Moon since Apollo, and find out what you might experience on a visit to the Moon!
