Managing Your Money Join Westpac staff at their fun and interactive workshops. Learn about managing your money so you can feel more confident about making financial decisions. Understanding debt and payment methods Petone Library 11 November, 12pm Not quite sure how much a personal loan or credit card would cost? Feel like your debts might be getting away from you? This topic focussed on understanding the true cost of borrowing, questions to ask when borrowing, and tips on how to get out from any debt you might currently have.

Managing Your Mortgage War Memorial Library 24 November, 12pm Congratulations, you’ve made it onto the property ladder! If you’re wondering “now what?” and wanting some practical tips to understand mortgage structures and how you could pay off your loan sooner, this topic is for you! First time home buyers also welcome!

Spender, Saver or Borrower? Taita Library 26 November, 11am Work out your money personality and how it affects your financial prioritisation. Work through short and long-term goal planning so you know what you are truly aiming for.

Preparing for the future and getting ready to retire Eastbourne Library 28 November, 11am Retirement may feel a long way away, but research shows you might need $400,000 saved by the time you get there. This topic focusses on how and why to save for retirement, including the benefits and features of Kiwisaver. The session will also cover factors to consider when choosing when to retire, and practical tips for how to manage your money then.

On the night, you’ll make your own bench spray to take home. We'll cover the basic ingredients required for natural, non-toxic cleaning and how making our own products results in a safer, more sustainable home.

November is National Novel Writing Month!

We'll be posting daily challenges on our social media pages, and hosting events and spaces for you to hone your skills and share ideas. Plus our staff are always happy to recommend a book or two for inspiration!


Digital Literacy: Better Digital Futures This new programme supports seniors (people aged 65+) seeking help getting online. Participants choose one of four pathways to learn new skills and build confidence with computers and the internet. Digital Essentials Pathway This course is designed for seniors who are brand-new users. Stripped back to the basics, these four sessions will provide learners with the essential skills they need to get online and start creating their own digital footprint. This pathway will cover four topics: (1) Intro to devices (2) Intro to the internet (3) Intro to email (4) Intro to browsing. Participants should enrol in all four classes.
