The site The Granville Island is a busy tourist’s attraction that is historically important. Currently food markets, art studios, and art college are occupying the main area on the island.

Granville Island Vancouver B.C, Canada 5040 Square meter Commercial/ Residential Hand design, Sketch massing model, Revit, Softimage, Photoshop, Illustrator This project was mainly for the 150 artists on the Granville island and some other visiting art students. The design goal was provide art studios and gallery space with some retails as well as fixing the site problems. Also at the same time conserving the site history was another goal for this special historical site.

Hexa Skylight Kinetic Architecture project in Vancouver B.C Media: Hand drawings and modelings, computer modeling, computer animations
Context The skylight is located in the center of a 30ft by 30ft art gallery space.
Criteria To create a gradient of light from light to dark - To create an intriguing pattern along with the varying light level - Use a hand cranked mechanism, 15- 20 seconds - A visible, sculptural, crank mechanism - Hand Crank engages rollers though a bevel gear - Slats are operated by the rollers - Rollers are connected via a cross joint To stack ventilate the gallery space - Be a leak proof - Operated independently from the slats - Use an electric motor with a switch - Worm gear engages window arms
