Ideas for Development
The skylight is located in the center of a 30ft by 30ft art gallery space. - What are the code requirements for snow load and lifting force on a skylight? - What sort of glazing specification is required? Criteria - Where would a human-powered operator be positioned in relaTo create a gradient of light from light to dark tion to the skylight? - To create an intriguing pattern along with the varying light - For it to be successful cooling the space, what size window aperlevel ture will be required? - Use a hand cranked mechanism, 15- 20 seconds - For it to be successful as a shading feature, what degree of dark- A visible, sculptural, crank mechanism ness needs to be achieved? - Hand Crank engages rollers though a bevel gear - How will the skylight relate to the roof structure? To roof Clad- Slats are operated by the rollers ding? - Rollers are connected via a cross joint - How we develop more visually arresting and beautiful in terms of To stack ventilate the gallery space Light/Shadow patterning making? - Be a leak proof - Operated independently from the slats - Use an electric motor with a switch - Worm gear engages window arms P.12

RELATED SKILLS Lumion 4 pro, Revit, Sketch up, Softimage, Solidworks, ArcGIS from the University of Oregon June 2013. Sensitivity towards architectural expression and the human experience as crafted by space, materials, and texture are design values that I hold close to me. The process through which the context and problems of program can suggest a unique conceptual foundation for each and every design project is one I cherish, and seeing that concept come to fruition is one of design’s great pleasures. I believe my design skills and values
