In The Quarry 12th & 13th December
Welcome
Have yourself a Merry Shrewsbury Christmas
The magic of Christmas is something that simply can’t be beaten no matter what your age... and at Shrewsbury Christmas we are all about creating memories and sharing them with those closest to us. Shrewsbury Christmas is a first for the area; it’s a real celebration of all things festive in the Quarry in the heart of the town centre.
Giant marquees will be bursting with over 150 of the best craft and food exhibitors the county has to offer, and there will be loads to do for all the family. From fun children’s crafts, to hands-on demonstrations for grown ups ahead of the big day itself, there will be the opportunity to pick up great hints and tips from some of the best local chefs and producers and crafts people. Try your hand at wreath making and felting or take a seat in our cookery area for great talks on canapés, festive cocktails and all things turkey.
Channel your inner Torvill and Dean on our fabulous indoor ice rink, and see little faces light up with festive story time.
Of course no Christmas event would be complete without carol singing, mulled wine and a few experiences to remind us all of the true meaning of the season.
Shrewsbury Christmas will take place in the quarry on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December. Gates open at 10am on both days and close at 6pm Saturday and 5pm Sunday
Tickets cost £5 for adults, £1.00 for children or £10 for a family ticket. Tickets give entry for ONE day only. Families will consist of 2 adults and up to 3 children aged 3-14 years old. Admission for children two and under is free. You can buy tickets now on the Shrewsbury Christmas website www.shrewsburychristmas.co.uk

Haughton Honey comes from the meadows, gardens, trees and farmland across the English countryside and has traces of dandelion, hawthorn, chestnut, lime, blackberry, clover, rosebay willowherb and other assorted wild flowers. Our raw honey comes straight from the hive, is cold extracted and never pasteurised, which means that it retains all of the natural enzymes and proteins that make English honey so special. And of course, every jar is different depending upon where the bees and apiaries are located, what time of year it is and what types of flowers the bees are collecting their nectar and pollen from.

Volunteers we need you!
We all know the ‘best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing it loud for all to hear’ ... and the Shrewsbury Christmas team is on the lookout for a group of fun festive-loving volunteers willing to help run the weekend. Whether you have four hours to spare or a couple of days, we need you.
You’ll help festival goers find their way around, signpost them to the exciting attractions and of course help spread plenty of Christmas cheer! Volunteering at the event means being part of something very special. This year, we’re working alongside the Shrewsbury Ark to help the homeless and vulnerable enjoy the Christmas season too.
Volunteers will also gain free entry to the event, a special Shrewsbury Christmas gift and refreshments along with a great chance to celebrate all things festive. We would love you to join us, so if you have half a day or more to spare email info@shrewsburychristmas.co.uk to register. It will be the most fun you can have volunteering!

We are trading at Shrewsbury Christmas, so stock up on a few last minute warm winter ghts!
A time for giving_Double Page Editorial 21/10/2015 13:14 Page 1
A Time of Giving
Christmas is a time to celebrate, full of warmth and giving, but for some people their reality is very different. Without the help of charities such as The Shrewsbury Ark, Christmas would be a cold and lonely place for homeless and vulnerable people in the town.
We can’t think of anyone better to support this year than The Shrewsbury Ark.
Not only does their work help with the things many of us take for granted such as warm clothes, a hot meal or just a cup of tea. They are also there for a chat, advice, help and support, so that people who use the service are able to rebuild their self-confidence and develop their potential. “There’s no referral needed to access our services, you can simply turn up at the door, regardless of your situation or needs and you are welcomed.” Says Tim the Manager at Shrewsbury Ark. With the charity relying entirely on donations to continue, we wanted to celebrate the work of everyone at Shrewsbury Ark and ensure that they can help as many people as possible this winter.
There are a couple of activities at Shrewsbury Christmas that will benefit the Ark directly. We’re asking a £2.00 donation to use the ice rink and this money will go straight to Shrewsbury Ark. Shrewsbury College will also be bringing along their soup kitchen and the money raised from every bowl of delicious soup will again benefit the charity directly.
You may not be homeless but money can still be a struggle at this time of year so we’re working with the whole town to expand the ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme that’s already been adopted by some local retailers. Pay it forward is an idea that’s spreading quickly all over the world and the idea couldn’t be simpler; you give something to someone else without asking for anything in return. We have joined forces with our sponsor Monks Estate and Letting Agents and some of the fantastic local eateries in Shrewsbury to set up a special Shrewsbury Christmas “pay it forward.” Next time you are out and about for a coffee, or meeting a friend for lunch, why not treat a complete stranger to something too, while you’re paying at the till? Check out how you can pop an extra couple of pounds in one of our special “houses” in local restaurants so it’s waiting for someone in need to have coffee or a slice of cake, too.
