(Reviewed by Luke Smith)
“Lamb Inn Edgmond is everything you’d expect from a great local pub...” Lance, Debbie and the team are ready to welcome you to the newly refurbished Lamb Inn, Edgmond. Offering a wide range of traditional beers and an exciting range of new beers, ciders, wines and cocktails this family and community focused pub prides itself on serving locally sourced food using only the finest ingredients. This impressive building set in the idyllic village of Edgmond has been refurbished to a very high standard, including a huge curved glass drinks display, roomy restaurant seating, rustic wood cladding and comfy booth seating with an impeccable eye for detail. We were greeted by one of the team and shown to our seat for the evening, and offered some drinks. The menus have a good selection of dishes to choose from; classics like soup of the day and king prawn cocktails to mussels and Thai style crab cakes. I opted for the Panko Breaded Chicken Skewers with satay sauce and flatbread and Luke decided to try the Thai Style Crab Cakes.

10 Food & Drink Review
They didn’t take long at all to arrive, the chicken skewers were really good, and the satay sauce was a very interesting and tasty addition. Luke was very impressed with the crab cakes which were light and crispy, with a really good texture and intricate flavour. For our main courses we chose Grilled Fillet of Seabass, with King Prawn and Crab Risotto, Rocket Salad and Parmesan, and for Luke Slow Cooked Belly Pork, with Sage Mash Potato, apple Purree, Spring Greens and Cider Sauce. Again the dishes arrived really quickly, the presentation was excellent. The quality ingredients are evident in the flavours of the dishes, with no compromise on quantity. The Seabass was delightfully cooked and the risotto was absolutely delicious - creamy, and seasoned to perfection, with huge juicy king prawns; a stunning dish. Luke tucked into his belly pork which was fantastic – the soft flesh melted away in his mouth and the crisp crackling, made it a real showstopper main dish sure to impress even the fussiest of foodies. Every element from the mash to the cider sauce, were simply outstanding. The dessert menu has some classic favourites on offer with Sticky Toffee Pudding, Lemon Tart, Vanilla Cheesecake and Warm White Chocolate Chip Brownie however, the White
The Lamb Edgmond Review_Double Page Editorial 07/02/2020 12:48 Page 2
Chocolate and Raspberry Crème Brulee with Shortbread was my winner. We decided to share though - as we were getting full! This thick and creamy crème brulee was out of this world, the raspberries added a burst of flavour. Every dish is home-cooked and thoughtfully prepared and presented. There are lots of offers available including 2 steaks and 2 desserts for £30 on Thursdays, and Afternoon Tea served Monday to Saturday 12-3pm. No table bookings are required, you’ll be able to pop in at any time and have a wonderful meal at the Lamb – but be warned, it is often full so if you want to avoid disappointment, booking may be wise. Priding themselves on the highest quality food and service, Lance and Debbie are exactly what the Lamb Inn was crying out for – owners that know great food is what makes a great local pub, with an added passion for hospitality.

WHAT’S ON IN WELLINGTON... The regeneration of Wellington...
Love Wellington The ‘Love Wellington’ campaign, launched 12 months ago, is leading the way in the regeneration of the town. The initiative is funded by the regeneration Board and led by a ‘High Street Champion’ and team of local volunteers rooted in the community. It is active on social and traditional media and works with Telford & Wrekin Council, Wellington Town Council, the businesses and wider community in a coordinated and strategic way to promote the town and ‘Love Wellington’ entering the Great British High Street competition, which highlighted the following: As part of the regeneration and pride in your community work, Telford & Wrekin Council have funded the following in Wellington:
Empty Shop Grant scheme To drive down long term vacancy rates £60k of grants have been awarded to businesses that repurpose empty shops and include The Walnut restaurant and Nanny’s Bulgarian Bakery; Nathan Rous PR and Simply Doors. These businesses have been supported because they deliver a new retail/service experience which will diversify the town’s offer and bring new footfall.
Façade improvements A programme of façade improvements, concentrating on the historic main market square, commenced in June. This sees a return to quality historic colours and materials in keeping with Wellington’s Georgian buildings.

EVER CONSIDERED
ADOPTION? Adoption@Heart is sending out another plea for more people to consider adoption... It’s coming up to the first anniversary of the launch of the Regional Adoption Agency for the Black Country, and Adoption@Heart is sending out another plea for more people to consider adoption. Adoption@Heart provides adoption services across the region for City of Wolverhampton Council, Dudley Council, Walsall Council and Sandwell Children’s Trust with a view to recruiting adopters, family finding for children and providing support to children and adopters. It is designed to help speed up the adoption process, improve the life chances of those children waiting to be adopted, and improve adopter recruitment and support. The agency is keen to raise awareness of adoption and find homes for children currently waiting to be adopted. Mark Tobin, Service Head for Adoption@Heart said: “There are many myths around who can and can’t adopt. The chances are, you can! “Our team is passionate about delivering the best support to children awaiting adoption and to all those choosing to start their journey with us. “We are looking for parents who can give them lots of individual time, understanding and on-going support. We are looking for a diverse range of people from within the community, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race or faith. “Adopters come from all walks of life and all applications are welcome and will be treated equally. “Being an adoptive parent can be challenging but it also brings great rewards. If you’re interested in finding out more, please contact Adoption@Heart today.” From your initial enquiry, to that first meeting, right the way through to the end of your adoption journey and beyond, Adoption@Heart will support you every step of the way. Adoption is one of the biggest and most important decisions of your life and Adoption@Heart will support you as much as possible. It’s a life changing experience but one that is certainly rewarding. TARA PROFESSIONAL A LEADING educational recruitment company is taking another big step forward by creating a private tutoring service to help pupils thrive.
S
hrewsbury-based TARA Professional Recruitment, which has developed a strong reputation for its work matching schools with teaching and support staff across Shropshire, South Staffordshire and the West Midlands, is now branching out with the creation of TARA Tutors. The service aims to provide private one-to-one tutoring at home for pupils from an experienced and enthusiastic team of tutors, including for all National Curriculum subjects. From learning a foreign language to gaining music skills or receiving vital tutoring support ahead of sitting GCSEs or Alevel exams, the service seeks to ensure every child will have the opportunity to develop. TARA, which also has an office in London, continues to earn a place at the top of the class thanks to its work providing educational training and development and for the enthusiasm shown by the team of staff. The business was created by managing director Kirsty Jandrell in October 2007. She believes the creation of TARA Tutors will allow children to reap rewards in chosen subjects away from the classroom environment. “This is something we are excited about and it is a move that we have not taken lightly,” said Kirsty, who attended this years National Tutors’ Conference at The Royal Society, London. “I feel is aligned with what we have been doing for the past 12 years. It’s an extension of the work we do and feels like a natural progression for us. “The service may be used, for example, by parents who want their children to be helped in a particular subject before sitting their GCSEs, A levels, SATs or anything really. “This can provide a confidence boost and may particularly help those children who may struggle in the classroom environment. One-to-one tuition is so effective in so many ways. “Our new service can help everybody. We believe in putting every individual first and helping them as much as we possibly can.” The tutors provided for the service are experienced in their chosen subjects and are all fully regulated to carry out such roles, having completed safeguarding checks. What subject is studied and how frequently they have tuition is down to the wishes and needs of parents and students,”
22
Private Tutoring Services
added Kirsty, a former teacher who has worked in educational recruitment for the past 20 years. “We are happy to meet with anyone interested in starting tuition to discuss what they would like to do and help them decide on the best way forward.” TARA has built a reputation as an employer that takes its work seriously, earning praise from schools and clients for the support provided including with continuous career development. It currently has thousands of clients on its books, as it helps them find educational roles that suit them. But having fun is also one of TARA’s values, leading to it being recognised as a place where staff enjoy working. It also supports several good causes, with weekly dress down days held in aid of charity. “There’s so much sadness in the world at the moment. We believe in focusing on the goodness and having fun,” added Kirsty. “We are passionate about what we do and creating TARA Tutors is something we are very happy about. “Our teachers and teaching staff are phenomenal people.” For details on the private tutoring service and costs, email tutors@taraprofessionalrecruitment.co.uk or visit www.taratutors.co.uk Alternatively, call 01952 433833, 01743 236922 or 01902 424242.

Can you help small animals in need?.. Rainbow rescue is a small scale family run rescue centre based in Telford. We are fully self funded and rely solely on donations from the public and help from our volunteers. We take in, care for, rehabilitate and re-home smaller animals such as Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Chinchillas, Ferrets, Hamsters, Cats, Kittens, etc.
We are always in need of old newspapers and shredded paper, hay, rabbit food, cat food and litter. However, in these colder months we need extra blankets, bedding, towels and cosy cat/dog beds to keep the animals warm. We also need cat/pet bowls, cat toys and rabbit water bottles and hay racks due to our expansion to care for more animals.
Donations can always be dropped off at- The Brewery Inn, High Street, Coalport, Telford, TF87HZ. It is always best to call first on- 01952 581225 to check opening times. We are always extremely grateful for anything donated to us. Monetary donations can be made directly to our vetsVETS4PETS MADELEY where we have an account; these donations will help with the monthly vet bills for wormer, flea treatments, neutering and other operations or treatment.
Check out our Facebook page - https://www.facebook. com/rainbowrescuetelford for more information on us, what we do and how you can help us. We run a regular tombola and raffle at The Brewery Inn and always need prizes to raise much needed funds.
Contact can be made with us via Facebook by messaging our page or by calling 01952 581225 and leaving a message for the centre. We always try and respond as soon as possible but please remember we are run by volunteers who also work full time and have other commitments.
Viewings are ALWAYS by appointment only to ensure at least 2 volunteers are on site to comply with our insurance regulations. When the centre is full and we are unable to take an animal in we will help by giving advice and recommending other centres that may have space. We would like to thank The Brewery Inn for sponsoring our advert in this publication.

W
e recently had a chat with dancehall legend Shaggy ahead of his appearance on e Blast Off! Tour which will be at Birmingham Resorts World Arena on the 12th March 2020!
1. The Blast Off! Tour kicks off at the end of February next year – are you excited to be heading back on the road? Yeah! I’ve literally just got back off the road with UB40 in North America so this is a perfect time to be hitting the UK and Ireland! It’s a great line up also, and as soon as I looked at the line up I said, ‘yeah, I definitely wanna go!’ It’s a line up of great hits.
2. Nelly, Salt N Pepa, Blu Cantrell – are you excited to have some of the biggest names of the 90’s & 00’s joining you on the tour? It’s going to be good vibes! I’ve done a couple of shows with Nelly on several occasions back when he was just coming out so we did the circuit together. Recently, I think the last shows we did together were in Canada, a couple of dates there. I just think with the amount of amazing records these guys have got, we’ve got Salt N Pepa, Blu Cantrell. I’m sure there will be a lot of guests coming in and out, it’s just going to be a really, really good night!
3. If you had to pick one other artist from the line up, who do you think will be the most fun to hit the road with? I mean, any one of them! I think Mya will be cool in the sense that she’s being doing a lot of dancehall and reggae as of lately, even from before she’s done records with Beenie Man and people like that… but they’re all great!

Celebrity Interview
4. You’ve not long completed a tour with Sting! How did that come about? I’ve known Sting for years! We have a mutual friend in common which is Martin Kierszenbaum, he was my A&R at Interscope and also Sting’s A&R at Interscope, and then Martin started managing Sting and then managed me and he just thought that we would work well together. We went into the studio to do one song and then we thought that we had a lot in common on many levels that turned into a friendship, which then developed into an album. We just couldn’t get enough of each other and the way we make music, and the laughs and the fun, we just said, “We’re gonna take this show on the road.”
5. Your joint album 44/876 was a massive success and also won you a Grammy - did you expect to receive such an amazing response to the album? We didn’t know what to do with that thing because Sting & Shaggy on paper looks really weird! That’s kind of what attracted us to it anyway, the fact that no one was really expecting it and everybody would be sitting there thinking, “What the fuck is it?” But one thing was undeniable, which we knew would be, that once you came to a show, you would leave entertained, and if you look at most of the write up and reviews of the shows throughout
Page 32 & 33 - Celebrity Tour - interview_Double Page Editorial 03/02/2020 13:39 Page 2
the whole tour, people were saying that they came even though they didn’t think they would like it and they found it a little weird because they forgot how many hits we have between us and it’s the journey and soundtrack of people’s lives – and that’s what it’s all about. The smiles on people’s faces, that’s all that matters really.
6. Rather impressively, you’ve had 4 UK number one singles. How do you find playing the UK compares to elsewhere? Do you feel an affinity with the UK? I used to go over to the UK for years, it’s almost as if people thought I lived there! We’ve had a few number ones and a lot of Pop records over there, which started in 1992 with Oh Carolina, which was the first dancehall record that actually went into the British chart at number one, and then we were on Top of the Pops four times and it was the first time Dancehall really did that as well. Then we debuted at number one with Boombastic, and it was the first time for Reggae and Dancehall again. At that point, I started to circuit and get to know everyone over there so England and the whole of the UK was a big part of that time for me, and I have a lot of friends in the UK that I’ve known over the years because I feel like I’ve lived there.
7. Your music career has spanned close to three decades, what do you find is your biggest motivation to keep making music and keep performing? I just do music because I’m really not good at anything else! Honestly, you don’t want to see me kick a ball. Trust me, it aint pretty! I’ve a knack for writing great melodies and obviously we did the Sting album, we won a Grammy, three years before that we did ‘Need Your Love’ which was a Top 5 single in America, which made me happy. I’m still writing songs that have relevancy within Dancehall, and I write for other people also. It’s just a hobby for me, music for me is just like air after a while, and it’s just kind what I do! I don’t have any aspirations to be any mogul or have riches – I just want to play music and be happy, that’s it.
8. Throughout your career, you’ve always given back to your hometown community in Jamaica and charity has always been close to your heart – how important do you think it is to give back? For me, coming from humble beginnings to now being at this level - I played for the Queen’s birthday the other day - when you’re sitting around and dining with kings and queens, from a little kid that came from Jamaica, it’s humbling. After a while, you realise just how very fortunate you are and I don’t think that was given to me just so I could walk around drinking, partying, and banging chicks, it had to be something greater. I have to use this platform I have to bring people together to do something amazing. Starting up a hospital for children was what I chose to go behind because it was the only one in the English-speaking Caribbean and I realised for a
hospital like that, it would mostly be children and they would be serving in a neighbourhood of about 400500 people a day and those are huge numbers for such a small hospital. I had the ability to get sponsorship and pull people together and create these massive concerts, we made a lot of money for them. We were able to build their cardiac wing, and were very instrumental in the building of the CAT lab, and all the equipment. I was in Jamaica just two days ago where we turned over $100,000,000 to Jamaica. We continue doing stuff like that. I’m also a brand ambassador for Food For The Poor, which is the 5th largest charity in the US. I do a lot of work with Home Base, which is a charity for the military to combat invisible wounds. It’s good to be in that position where you can put your celebrity towards something like that. I also do work with Chain Of Hope who do cardiac operations for little babies in third world countries. After a while, especially where I’m at right now where I’ve done all the partying, it’s time to do something. 9. You have a military background yourself, is that something that has always stuck with you, especially when it comes to charity? I was in the first Gulf War so I know all about that. I don’t think you’re going to go through any war without having some sort of trauma, it just comes with it. I’m in a position where I can do a lot of work with the military, even as far as doing concerts for them and doing shows in Bosnia and Germany. 10. You’ve had number one albums, number one singles, toured the world… What would you say is your career highlight to date? There’s a lot! I think meeting James Brown and him being such a really big Shaggy fan was such an out-of-body experiment. Also, the whole Sting project has certainly been a highlight of my life. Michael Jackson, and Michael just being such a fan and playing at the 30th Anniversary at Madison Square Garden. Going diamond is also a massive highlight. It’s been a very amazing ride; it’s been pretty good and pretty colourful.
11. Last but not least, what else is in the works for you? Well, after the tour with UB40 in North America, I went straight off and did Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ LIVE for ABC, and now Sting & I have just shot the holiday special for Thanksgiving and Christmas, where we’ll be doing all Reggae and Dancehall for the opening… we’re doing Christmas Carols and Reggae! Sting & I might get back in the studio, as there’s a project we’re discussing, so we’ll see how that works… It’s going to be something off the wall, it seems so far fetched, people might not understand it but that’s how we like it! When you’ve been doing things so long, you just look for things that excite you. So, a couple of projects here and there and we’ll just see how it goes!

How to make a capsule wardrobe... Make getting ready for work in the morning a piece of cake by investing in timeless essentials that will work for everything from a networking lunch, through to a relaxed Sunday lunch. Throw on any item and love it. Smart dressing can be made into light work with the help of multitasking items like blouses and skirts. It may take a while, but be patient and I swear it will be worth it. You will automatically have some items you know you don’t want, so bag them up and set them aside so you can either list them on Ebay, or take them to the local charity shop. We all have a special item which we love, so we keep it just to look at because it is just so beautiful and then we reach for the same old jeans and t-shirt that we always wear. Don’t allow sentiment to get in your way, if you haven’t worn it in months, just get rid of it. If you are trying to lose weight only keep two ‘goal’ items in your wardrobe, any more is just bad for your morale. Go through sections of clothing, start with sweaters and ditch any you have not worn this season, keeping 3 maximum. Then go through trousers, jeans, t-shirts, shirts and blouses, skirts and jackets and do exactly the same process. You will have far more space and you will find it much easier to get ready. Finally remember to repeat this process every 3-6 months.

Going Green... e colour green symbolises life, renewal, harmony and growth; and is set to steal the limelight this year. Green Decor Ideas Introduce a little bit of green into your home... By Rebecca Snowden - Furniture Choice Ltd..
1. Use green as a feature wall colour
3. A statement green velvet sofa
Serene and soothing, green makes for a great feature wall colour. From darker shades like emerald green to brighter hues like apple green, the colour offers many psychological benefits. These include helping to induce relaxation and calmness, as well as giving off the emotions of optimism and growth. Home offices can benefit from a green feature wall as it helps soothe tired eyes. “Hobby Wood by Earthborn, an eco-friendly paint brand, is a bold woodland green that helps bring the outdoors in. Match with dark wood furniture for a classy, perennial look.” says Rebecca. Sage green is a relaxing colour that’s perfect for a bedroom feature wall. It creates a calm and airy atmosphere that’s lighthearted and uplifting. Light wood furnishing and natural materials complement the theme wonderfully. Some other accessories and textures to consider are jute, leafy plants and candles for relaxation. Where there are windows, choose sheer white curtains to allow sunlight in while maintaining some level of privacy. “The natural light will also cast a lovely glow on the sage green wall and give the colour a little pop,” she says.
Make a statement for the new year and invest in an elegant green velvet sofa. The sumptuous material enhances the richness of an emerald green and adds depth to a space. As Rebecca says, “A green velvet sofa is easier to pull off than you might think. It is incredibly chic and luxurious yet laid back enough to suit most interiors.” Style with brass finished planters or side tables for a lavish look, or matching dark wood furniture for something classic and cosy. “Bold yet versatile, a green velvet sofa is easy to dress for the seasons and set to become a talking point of the home.” Live green plants are the best accessories for decorating the home in shades of green. Some help clean the air and release more oxygen for easier breathing while others bear fruit for eating. Mix and match plants of different green shades for depth and interest in the home. “Leafy, trailing plants inject a little wildness for an urban jungle feel while demure little succulents are adorable and easy to manage,” says Rebecca. “Plants are quick additions to the home that make a big impact on our wellbeing - a big focus for 2020.”
2. Neo mint as a lighter alternative On the pastel front, neo mint is set to be very fashionable in 2020. “It’s young, fresh, energetic - great for pairing with an equally sunny colour like coral,” says Rebecca. “Brighten up a small space or designate separate functional areas by way of colour blocked walls.” Balance the boldness of neo mint walls with simple, neutral furniture like a white bed. Select furniture with slim legs and clean silhouettes to achieve a clean look. Alternatively, layer on rugs and cushions within the same palette for a maximalist approach.

A beautifully told story.’ - Goodreads ‘What I loved most about Distorted Days is its multifaceted characters. Trending
wedding themes... So, you’re getting married... First things first, you will probably want to choose a theme for your wedding. You may want to go for a traditional church ceremony, a relaxed beach wedding abroad, or even a fairy-tale castle. Here are a few trending theme ideas which are going to be popular this year.
Moroccan eme Moroccan weddings have been increasingly popular over the last couple of years, and it is a really stunning way to tie the knot. You can tune this theme to your own taste, from all-out opulence to subtle. e Moroccan theme is something that your guests will remember for a long time. Colours vary massively, from dark pinks, oranges, greens, purples, fuchsia, deep corals, and loads of patterns and designs too. Great combinations include mixtures of burgundy, gold & purple, pink, purple & gold, orange, red & yellow, or pink, red & gold. If you prefer cool shade combinations you could try blue, yellow & silver, navy, tan & blue, or teal, blue & tan. You could even swap to an elegant Kaftan for the evening do. Use damask tablecloths, Moroccan lanterns, and low sofas - piled high with brilliant jewel-tone pillows and drape the walls with colourful fabric and finish with Moroccan rugs. For entertainment you could get some belly dancers and a henna artist.
Totally Tropical Tropical is going to be such a huge trend for weddings in 2020. So how do you nail the tropical theme? While the organic and natural feel of boho tropical weddings will never go out of style, a more opulent tropical theme takes it one step further with gold accents, lush florals, and luxurious textures. Decorate with tropical garlands, gorgeous greenery or colourful tassels. Go all-out with Hawaiian-inspired cocktails served in coconut shells and ‘Lei’ flower necklaces. You can really have alot of fun with this more glamorous tropical theme.
Alternative Cool Being different is something we should embrace, so why not celebrate your wedding differently too? Put your personality into your theme with an alternative wedding theme, and do it however you see fit! If dark, moody colour palettes match your style better than bright floral and been-there-done-that wedding themes, then an alternative theme has your name written all over it. Push the boundaries and break with tradition. is is your day, so do it your way.

Back To NATURE Weddings, Celebrations and Camping at Shropshire Wedding Venue... Wrekin Forest Events is a woodland wedding and event venue in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Located at Wrekin Forest School on Crudgington Moor Lane, Telford, the rustic ceremony site was created by owner Judie Ellis in response to demand. Judie, a trained forest school leader and educator, has become well known across Shropshire over recent years for her innovative approach to the outdoors and teaching children and young people a range of unique skills. Now, the business owner is giving couples the opportunity to get back to nature and explore the wonders of the woodland site by hosting wedding ceremonies. e site, complete with tree-lined lawn and meadow, rustic barn, tipi, shepherds huts, bar area and fire pits is also being made available for other events including milestone birthdays, renewal of vows ceremonies and anniversary celebrations. Judie said: “We are absolutely delighted at how extremely successful our wedding and event venue has proven over the last year and a half, and we are looking forward to welcoming guests from across Shropshire and further afield. We have hosted a number of events and I’m delighted to say, they have all gone fantastically well. We have of course been super lucky with the weather this year and when the sun shines, the forest backdrop provides the most spectacular setting for a friendly, rusticromance style wedding or other celebration.” “The venue really is perfect for those wanting to get back to nature. e relaxed and informal space is the kind of place where you can get married in your wellies, flip flops or heels - anything goes really! We love to encourage guests to add their own personal style with bespoke decorations such as bunting and colourful wildflowers. Of course, we can be on hand toassist in any way needed but generally we like to leave the personal touches to those hiring out the venue as we know everyone likes to add their own individual twist.” As well as using the ceremony site, guests can also make use of the forest school area by trying out some of the adventure activities such as archery and air rifle shooting. ere is also an off-grid campsite available for those wishing to stay overnight at the venue. Judie, who hosted her first wedding at the site around 18 months ago, following a request from a friend, said: “Our venue isn’t an alternative to a hotel wedding or celebration.
46 Shropshire Wedding Venue
What you get here is truly unique and is for those really wishing to embrace nature and everything that comes with it. The idea was borne after a friend of mine asked to hire the site to create a surprise wedding. At first I thought she was a bit mad but slowly I began to picture how amazing a wedding day or other celebration could be here in the woodland and that’s when we started to seriously consider transforming the site. It took around 12 months to get the venue event-ready with the addition of the barn, bell tent, shepherds huts, 4 berth pig ark and all the other unique elements such as log seating and marshmallow roasting fire pit. It now looks fantastic and the celebrations we’ve had so far have been spectacular. Every single one has been very different but they’ve all had a fun, friendly and natural vibe to them which is exactly the kind of memories we are trying to create for our guests.” Events held at Wrekin Forest School Events can accommodate up to 130 guests and there are three different packages to choose from depending on the type of celebration to be held. For full details contact Judie on 07888 851813 or visit the website www.wrekinforestschool.co.uk for more information.

Home - clear the clutter_Double Page Editorial 03/02/2020 15:59 Page 1
CLEAR THE CLUTTER A clutter-free home equals a clutter-free mind! Keeping a clutter-free and organised home is a task that people find either a joy or a challenge. Whichever one you are, there are always ways to make it easier to have a tidy home, so here are 5 of our favourite ways you can keep your home organised… 1. Regularly go through your items!
It is surprising just how quickly we accumulate things, especially ones that we don’t need, and have no use for. Make organising a regular habit, every month or so! If you have a very busy schedule, do this when you can, but the most important tip, is make sure that you give yourself a few hours, at least, and have a pre-planned method of how you are going to organise – an increasingly popular method is the KonMari method developed by Marie Kondo. 2. Be Strict!
When going through old items, if you have the mind set of ‘I’ll wear it one day’ or ‘It might come in handy’, chances are, you won’t use your item. A well-known rule is if the items hasn’t been worn/used in the past year, it is unlikely you will use it again any time soon – so get rid! If your items are sentimental, make a new space for them, away from your every-day items.
Nero Cordless Table Lamp on Side Table - Alexander Joseph www.alexanderjoseph.co.uk
3. Tidy, hide or get rid of cables altogether.
Nothing looks messier than a wall mounted television with tangled cables underneath or a room-central desk with dangling cables creating trip hazards. Cable tie your tv cables or hide them behind the screen for a more simplistic and cleaner look. Put in plug sockets under your desk or opt for cable free. Using a laptop instead of a computer means no ugly cables, just charge it on a side table once you’re done. Use a cordless mouse and cordless keyboard too. Did you know you can even get cordless desk lamps as well? 4. Make the most of the space you have!
If you have a small surface area, use the height of the room. Tall storage is a great way to save space in any room. Clothes rails can be pulled down, small ladders can be secretly stored and using a good method of putting the items you use the least in the harder to reach places, are all great ways of optimising your space. 5. Give everything a home!

Having a place for your belongings gives you a tidy home and a tidy mind. Knowing where your items are gives someone peace of mind when searching for things in their home. It is well known that a tidy environment has a positive impact on the mind, including significantly reducing stress. After all, a clean house = a clean mind.

THE 2020 MAN e 2020 Man Revealed: Honest, Good Mannered... And Ready To Talk? • New research report released today looks into male body confidence, mental health and masculinity • 38% of men do not feel positive about their bodies
• A quarter of men do not feel comfortable talking about their feelings to anyone at all
New research by menswear brand Jacamo found that over a third (38%) of men do not feel confident about their bodies, with 20% saying they would like guidance on how to dress better for their shape.
A fifth (19%) of males blame the media for promoting unachievable standards of physical build, which consequently has a negative impact on body confidence. The detailed report focuses on ‘The 2020 Man’, entitled the Modern Man-ual 2.0, it is a continuation of a report first released by the online retailer in 2015. This second edition highlights gaps in conversation when it comes to what it means to be a man today, both inside and out. Outside of body image, when asked what they think are the most important qualities in a man, 74% said honesty and 73% good manners. To add even more substance to the ‘it’s what’s on the inside that counts’ debate, 74% of men stated they do not think physical strength is key to ‘being a man’. Looking into the qualities that men deem as showing success in their lives, health (57%) and mental health (52%) are the two biggest measures. The research also found that a quarter of men don’t feel comfortable talking to anyone at all about their feelings and over half (58%) consider the pub to be their ‘safe space’ and are most likely to meet up with friends there, over anywhere else. With all these emotions bottled up, on 28th November, Jacamo put its name above a pub, the Jacamo Arm-in-Arms, and encouraged men to come and talk more openly about their feelings. Open for one day only, it was a space for guys to understand one another better and freely express their emotions. Panel talks with industry experts and sportsmen including Freddie Flintoff, Wasps rugby player Kearnan Myall, boxers Luke Campbell MBE and Dave Allen, were held throughout the day to encourage the conversation. Kenyatte Nelson, Chief Brand Officer for Jacamo, commented “Our aim at Jacamo has always been to make men feel comfortable and stylish in the clothes that they wear, however it’s obvious from some of our findings that there are much bigger factors at play here, the subject of body confidence for men being just one of them. “In a world of superficial bias, Jacamo seeks to champion the true measure of a man. We want to help drive a change in how men feel about themselves – it’s something the female fashion industry has made great strides in.
e 2020 Man
Menswear brand, Jacamo, has released a research report looking into male body image, attitudes and core values of the 2020 man. Below is a few of the interesting stats pulled from the report: • More than one in ten (13%) of men aged 18+ in the UK have had a good blub in the last week. • 41% of men want to see a similar movement for men as is seen for women around body positivity. • 38% of those who we spoke to admitting they do not feel positive about their bodies. • Top qualities to have as a man: 74% honesty and 73% good manners. • 74% of men stated they do not think physical strength is key to ‘being a man’. With the report finding that almost a quarter of men do not feel comfortable speaking about their feelings, it’s time to open the debate. 2020; the year for men to stand, be counted, celebrated, understood and get comfortable being uncomfortable.
“What’s also been highlighted is the need to encourage men to talk more openly about some of these issues. As a brand, encouraging this conversation will only help us better understand and serve our customer.” The Modern Manual 2.0 can be viewed in full here: https://www.jacamo.co.uk/shop/page/arm-in-arms-theman-ual-2019-survey/show.action

BEFORE & AFTER PICTURES
Tried & Tested...
FAT FREEZING Review ere is no doubt that the idea of freezing fat away is far more preferable to spending hours in the gym burning it off. So the question is does Cryolipolysis, commonly known as fat freezing work? is cutting-edge aesthetic treatment may sound a little scary but when you learn about the process in a little more detail – it is actually pretty amazing (or cool if you’ll pardon the pun!). Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive way to reduce fat and contour your body. Aesthetics Shrewsbury offer fat freezing using the KaasenLife system by TruCryo, which has been developed locally in Shrewsbury by TruCryo Limited. is pain-free treatment is a much milder alternative to liposuction, which does not require anaesthetic and allows you to resume normal activities straight away after treatment – so there is no down-time. e area of the body is cooled to between +5° to -4°C within just a few seconds, using carbon dioxide which kills the fat cell, stimulating a beneficial natural body response to rapid cooling. e system can be used to target stubborn areas of fat such as the lower abdomen, back, inner thighs and even under the chin – which are difficult to shift with diet or exercise. I visited Aesthetics Shrewsbury to try out the treatment for myself. Janine and Laura offer a range of treatments from dermal fillers and Botox to fat freezing. After an initial consultation with Laura, we went through to the treatment room for the first session, in a course of five treatments. We started off by taking some ‘before’ photos and measuring my waist, so we could see what the results were on completion of the course. It is not uncomfortable or unpleasant at all; especially when you compare it to an hour in the gym anyway! e first treatment lasted about 15-20 minutes in total – concentrating on my tummy and under my chin. I found it to be quite relaxing, with just a little pinkness to the skin which faded after a short time. You are advised to drink plenty of water following a fat freezing treatment, which assists the body in expelling the frozen cells. I returned for four more treatments (which only took around 5-10minutes) which were around 3-5 days apart to complete the course, and at the end we took some ‘after’ photos and measured my waist – which was an inch smaller!
ere was a visible difference to the appearance of my stomach which was less wobbly, smoother and had reduced in size. Under my chin had also improved with my jowl area appearing lifted and more contoured. e results are not instant and a course of five treatments is recommended - it is possible to lose inches in just one treatment though. It may however take a few weeks for you to really notice the difference, as once the fat cells are destroyed the lymphatic system has to dispose of them over a period of time. Results vary from person to person. e science is proven to work, offering a mild difference in appearance – mainly a reduction of bulging, and a smoother contour of the treated area. Freezing fat cells is permanent and once they are broken down they are expelled from the body, but it is important to bear in mind that if you want to maintain the results a healthy lifestyle is required. I would recommend fat freezing at Aesthetics Shrewsbury for anyone who is looking to shift a stubborn area or areas of fat that they have been unable to get rid of with dieting or exercise, and do not want to go to the extreme of having a surgical procedure such as liposuction. e treatments are quick and pain free. e results are good and can be permanent, plus the course of treatments is affordable at £250 for five sessions – for one area. Janine and Laura offer a professional and friendly service and really know how to make people feel comfortable and confident in the knowledge that they are in safe hands.

FEEL THE
BURN! Top 10 weight loss exercises revealed but what burns the most calories in just 60 mins? When it comes to weight loss, unsurprisingly, Brits are quick to turn to Google asking, “how do I lose weight fast”, which has an average search volume a month of 74,000. But what about the basics? Weight loss can be achieved by eating less and moving more. And it’s well-known that some sports show results better than others. Therefore, LiveRugbyTickets.co.uk has done the research to find out which sport will burn the most calories* in 60 minutes to get you on the right track in the New Year (the average length of a gym class) to ensure YOU make the right choice. For maximum results, take up squash! From the 30+ sports analysed; Squash was found to burn the most calories in 60 minutes – at 886. Running, Rugby, Martial Arts and SKIPPING will help you to burn over 700 calories in one hour. While Boxing and BMX or Mountain Biking will help you to burn over 600 – great news for the adventurous type! Enjoyment in exercise contributes to the endorphins that the brain releases and this has a great impact on your mental and physical wellbeing. And, if you enjoy it, you are far more likely to keep it up! Just Drive...
The Basics
Model: Seat Tarraco Excellence 1.5 TSI EVO 150PS 6 Spd. Manual. Price: ££30,320 Engine: 1.5 TSI Petrol Pictures: Seat.co.uk
A well known test of a new car's credentials is the hallowed 'Buddy Bond', sometimes known on this side of the Atlantic as the 'Chum Chime'. In plain English this is an index of the time taken before you feel really at home with any new motoring experience. So much so that the new car you happen to be driving feels as familiar to you and dependable as an old chum. ere's just something about the car that makes you warm to it at once. No sooner had I passed beyond the gates of my abode at Chateau de Codsalle and headed out into the great beyond, I knew that the new Seat Tarraco was my newest best buddy. is is an SUV just made for me - a proper brew of the best qualities available in modern motor manufacturing, brimful of the best design and engineering concepts all wrapped up and ready for today's drivers to relish. Mixing it with traffic on busy roads the Tarraco cuts a dash that demands respect. It has definite presence. This is not a matter of ostentation or bulk. For an SUV this vehicle combines a subtle suavity of line together with an uncompromising assertive countenance that has much to do with an elegant yet imposing front grille. The message is clear. Here is a stylish contender that beguiles without bluster and yet is a very serious proposition indeed. For a car of considerable load carrying capacity plus enviable economy, the last thing you would expect is an emphasis on luxury. And yet it is so. No armchair, sofa or divan in one's opulent living room could offer more comfort than that available in the plushly appointed seven seat cabin. The sheer pleasure of feeling pampered is never far away. I was taken aback to discover myself not pursuing the delights of the comprehensive infotainment system and instead whistling an old familiar tune. Yes, I confess I was whistling The Happy Wanderer: does anyone remember that melody these days I wonder? Then another question struck me. The Tarraco is marketed at adventurous souls who love the thrill of exploration - just like me. And just like an old acquaintance of mine, best known in arcane circles for discovering the lost orchid of Smethwick. That was a long time ago. Today, Septimus Tickle likes to live the quiet life. But rumour has it that he is not averse to a chauffeur driven cruise to the Peaks of Derbyshire. I

Seat Tarraco parked up (switched off the engine, of course), rang him and asked if he fancied a Bakewell Tart to go with a nice cup of tea: a Bakewell Tart that is actually in Bakewell. "In Bakewell?" He asked down the line. "Yes. I'll drive you there" “In what?" "In a car." "What sort of car?" "A brand new ÂŁ30,320 Seat Tarraco Excellence with the 150PS, 1.5 TSI 4 cylinder petrol engine and slick six speed manual gearbox. It's economical and will do around 38mpg. And should we be with criminal intent, we could do 125mph!" So I headed to Leek to pick him up. Filling with fuel on the way, a small boy by the pump spotted the 'S' on the grille. He was a smart small boy. "Does that 'S' stand for Superman?"He asked, looking me over with sardonic disdain. "No sonny" I said. "It stands for supercar.
Excellence 1.5 TSI EVO 150PS 6 Spd. Manual.
My wit silenced him and I drove off but not before remembering to pay by 'contactless'. For readers who are still with me and really perplexed at this point, the 'S' on the grille stands for Seat. Much as I enjoyed having no company, which allowed me to delight in the Tarraco's pleasing road manners, quiet ride and positive performance, I was looking forward to discovering what Septimus would make of a Seat adventure. Like many of his kind, he has eccentric habits. While his elegant wife inhabits their Grade 2 Georgian home, the man himself dwells in an outhouse among the rhododendrons which he has cleverly converted into a credible facsimile of an Alpine Traveller's hut, complete with verandah. There I found him preparing the pots for next seasons dahlias. On the wall hung a framed print of the rare orchid named after him and the unlikely roundabout where it was discovered all those years ago.
As we left I extended an invitation to Mrs. Tickle to join us. She looked at the Tarraco and admitted that it was a tempting proposition, especially in such a lovely looking car, but that she was due to leave for her pilates class. "Bring me a tart back" She requested. We headed out towards Axe Edge and Buxton. It was a delight to embrace the open road and sky. The Tarraco possessed all the manoeuvrability of a much smaller car. The direct wellweighted steering, perfectly poised chassis and reassuringly powerful braking combined effectively with the responsive and smooth engine, evoking a first class dynamic orchestration of sophisticated modern motoring. Eager to pump Septimus for his opinions I voiced a simple question. But answer came there none. The intrepid explorer was fast asleep. This I felt was testimony to the secure comfort of the Tarraco experience plus, of course, the smooth competence of the man at the wheel.
By Syd Taylor Motoring Reviewer Later, enjoying our cup of tea and Bakewell Tart in a charming cafe I tried to engage my friend in a spot of deep technical analysis. I asked what he thought of the powered tailgate, lavish specification, fuel consumption figures and the overall effect of Seat's conscientious approach to engineering. He finished munching his tart, knitted his brow and said "It's certainly a rare orchid of a car."

GOT ANY
INDICATORS? The Worst Driving Habits Revealed: Are you guilty? Whether you’ve been on the roads one week or 10 years, everyone has their own opinions on what driving habits annoy them. Studies have shockingly revealed, that 80% of drivers admit to road rage. But what driving habit infuriates people the most?
To find the answers, Click4Reg.co.uk conducted a survey yielding 1,023 responses (all licensed UK drivers), to find out what habit infuriates drivers the most. Top 3 Most Infuriating Driving Habits:
1. Not indicating is the worst driving habit, according to 55% of our respondents. Besides this habit being very dangerous, it appears to really annoy people too!
2. Leaving full beams on was rated the second most annoying driving habit - for obvious reasons. Click4reg.co.uk revealed that women find this habit more annoying than men (55% of women stated it annoyed them, compared to only 49% of men).
3. Driving 10 mph below the speed limit, seems to infuriate many UK drivers, with 39% finding it the most annoying driving habit. Despite this behaviour falling under ‘inconsiderate driving’, it seems as no surprise that it was rated the 3rd most annoying driving habit; with 39% of respondents admitting to speeding.
Do you find any of these annoying? Guilty of any yourself?
If your guilty of any of these driving habits, don’t stress. Despite respondents ranking these as the most annoying driving habits, a whopping 87% of them admit to doing at least one of them. Click4reg.co.uk found that drivers admitted to speeding, bad parking and not indicating the most. With regards to gender, Click4reg.co.uk found that both male and females were equally guilty of committing annoying driving habits.
However, 39% of females stated that their worst driving habit was bad parking, in comparison to nearly half of men (43%) admitting their worst habit was speeding. To delve deeper, Click4reg.co.uk asked participants which drivers they found most annoying on the roads.
1. Shockingly, people rated elderly drivers the most irritating, despite young drivers being much more likely to cause a crash. This could be explained by ‘driving 10 mph below the speed limit’ being rated the third most annoying driving habit, with elderly drivers typically driving slower. 2. Unsurprisingly, young male drivers were rated the second most annoying on the roads. Although only 12% of respondents found young female drivers irritating (despite both young drivers being at high risk of offending and/or crashing).
3. Thirdly, lorry drivers appear to annoy people on the roads, with 26% finding them irritating. Women were particularly bothered by lorry drivers with 34% of respondents finding their driving annoying, compared to only 18% of men.
