Ian Mellor
I studied for my BA (Hons) Architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture, before completing my BArch studies at the University of Liverpool. During my BArch studies, I completed a summer placement at Arctica, a process based architectural and engineering practice. In June 2008 I joined Chapman Taylor's Manchester office where I worked as part of the feasibility team, whilst at Chapman Taylor, I completed my Part 3 studies and qualified as an Architect in October 2009. I left Chapman Taylor in October 2010 to begin travelling and make my way to Australia. Since arriving in Australia in January 2011, I began working for a south Melbourne practice, Doig Architecture. Doig Architecture is a young practice (5 years) which undertakes a broad range of projects including Commercial, Retail, Residential and Masterplanning. I became involved with two key projects, a mixed use multi-residential scheme in Frankston and a Masterplanning project at Toolern.
