A quiet start, but beware the quiet devils

The early hours are often about settling in and making friends. The warm-up ride was enough to enjoy and enough to get everyone comfortable with each other. But it was oh so civilised and polite...

An little while later and a small amount of lubrication...a comfort between new friends

A social glass or two of wine, a look towards the riding ahead, and a bonding over the rides just passed eased everyone closer together. An alignment of crankarms in accordance with The Rules also helped in knitting of the threads of separate lives being, all joined by the bicycle.

Then came Sonia. And Grindbox. And the games began.

The Long Weekender nudged on impressively. Cols de La Comlombière and des Aravis in an epic ride are achievements of which to be proud. Then, a bit more wine, a fair bit of génépi, a liberal sprinkling of creative thinking and mobile applications led to the discovery of Sonia. Oh Sonia, what have you missed out on. Plenty. And that was just the first connection.

The ‘end of school term’ reckless abandon delivered Sonia a masterpiece of poetic romance Never in the history romantic apps has there been such creativity and collaborative involvement in chasing a goal. The collective aggregation of marginal lines put together in the round table last supper, is a piece of which Shakespeare would be proud. Sadly, Sonia was unmoved. Nevertheless, everyone on the Long Weekender should go home very pround of a set of rides that any cyclist would be happy to have achieved.
