Collection, Rides and Memories The Mont Ventoux Ascendo is a weekend escape to one of the most iconic mountains in cycling. Many a drama has been played out on her slopes and we intend to make your weekend as memorable as any of those. The added benefit of Ventoux is the ease of access both to airports (Marseille - 90 minutes) and surrounding variety of riding, to make a quick weekend break not only feasible, but incredible. We will collect you off your flight into Marseille airport on September 25 in the morning, make the 90 minute transfer to our hotel near the base of Mont Ventoux and while you grab a bite we will prep your bike for our first warm up ride around the foothills beneath Ventoux. The second day is the day of Mont Ventoux herself. Having got the legs used to Provence the day before , you will be ready to cover over 100km and 2,000m, with the highlight being the 21km from Bedoin to the summit of Ventoux. Before and after the summit though, we will take you on small roads which are both challenging and exciting. So while day 2 is about Ventoux, the whole ride will be one to remember. Day three is fly out day, sadly, and we will chaffuer you to Marseille airport for your return flight, after a tasty lunch. But first, we have time to get in a solid and incredibly beautiful gorge ride in the morning. France is excels at many things and it’s gorges are World Heritage and we will be taking in one of the very best. With legs perhaps a little heavy from Ventoux, this ride will still challenge at the start, but the long spinning descent in the second half of the ride past the gorge will not only help the legs, it will make you feel like a Pro and put an even bigger smile on your face to take home with you.
Support You will be able to arrive at Marseille airport and practically turn off all your switches aside from your enjoyment and cycling connections. We will take care of your transfers to and from the airport at the start and finish of your trip. During your stay we will treat you like a Pro. Your bike will be built up if you brought your own, or your Parlee hire bike will be set up to your specifications and each day your bike will be cleaned and serviced ready as new for the next day’s ride. On each ride, all the way you will be fully supported on the road by a guide on bike and a guide in our Club van. The on bike guide will show you the way, chat and morally support you over each an every kilometre. He may well suffer on the tough kilometres with you as well! Shared achievements are always best. The van will have all the nutrition and tools for any eventuality. It will also have anything you personally wish to put in for the days ride - extra clothes or individual nutrition preferences, for example. It will be out of sight and sound largely, so as not to spoil the serenity, though it will never be too far away to not be able to respond as and when needed. Each day, a hearty breakfast will be ready for you in our hotel each morning and on ride nutrition for during the rides will be available from the excellent Torq range to top you up and keep you hydrated. There are an abundance of cafes around the area for our lunch stop and our local knowledge means we have a few excellent options for each day. Just follow our guide and a good menu will in front of you before you get too hungry. In addition to all that, you will get a Montem Club Jersey to wear and take home with you and you will get to use one of our Scicon Rain bags for your day clothes - the same bags the Pro teams use for transfers. In short, turn up, ride and conquer. We will look after the rest.
