Mountain biking in Tyrol Cycling in Tyrol – adventure-filled, full of sporting action, embedded in the inspiring Silvretta and Samnaun mountains – as a rider you will find yourself in trail paradise in Ischgl. The Silvretta Bikearena is enormous. It stretches over wide areas of the Silvretta, Samnaun and into the Verwall group. And these are only three of the mountain chains which rise up above Paznaun, with Ischgl as its centre. The number of unique, natural Alpine routes on offer is therefore huge: whether it is for easy afternoon tours, challenging day stages, cable-car circuits or multiday tours with overnight stop-offs in cosy Alpine lodges. No rider's wish will remain unfulfilled, and we continually strive to ensure that there are always new cycling highlights on offer in Paznaun. Similar to our revised GPS tour portal with interactive bike map - and it is not only navigation specialists who will find the tour of their choice here. Routes can be displayed targeted to a specific difficulty level, which means in just one click you can get information about the route profile and how the tour proceeds- perfect for making plans at home. On site in Paznaun you can of course get the most accurate information about individual MTB tours in our printed mountain bike tour book and all
the possible variants. However a rider's paradise needs more than perfect tours to get the cranks turning and endless singletrails. Ischgl is famed for its top events in the winter, yet every summer the mountainbike marathon event of the year - Ischgl Ironbike - takes place in the Silvretta Bike Arena. Of this we are certain - the ultimate mountain bike area in the entire Alpine region will inspire you. See for yourself - in summer too the mountain biking maxim in Tyrol is: 'Relax. If you can ...' Paznaun – Ischgl Tourist Association hopes you enjoy adventure-filled cycling days in the Paznaun BikeArena

The 38 routes are available as a download at ischgl.com, in PDF and GPX format, with all the relevant information and to look at as an interactive plan. It couldn't be any easier, more practical and faster to organise your riding holiday in the mountain bike resort of Ischgl! PLEASE NOTE: Use of GPS data is at your own risk! In narrow valleys and forests in particular the requisite line of sight to the satellites is not always available, which means that inaccuracies may occur. That is why you should not blindly follow your GPS device's direction displays! In Alpine terrain in particular directly reaching a destination is seldom possible.
You should also be in a position to find your way around at any time, even without a GPS device. Please use our mountain bike tour guide with the enclosed route overview map for this purpose.

The landlords of the Heilbronner lodge are happy about the big number of cyclists, who drop in on their Alpine crossing from Oberstdorf to Riva.
After passing lake Zeinis and the Kops reservoir at this sunny plateau, there is still a few hundred metres altitude to overcome until the destination of this tour. After a few kilometres you come past the rustic Verbella alp – from here the gravel path is getting steeper but never too demanding. Only the last few metres are steep as hell – but the views from here are well worth it. The way back runs on the same paths, via Verbella alp, Zeinisjoch and Galtür back to Ischgl.

well as advanced riders who want to give it a bit more gas through the bends, really get their money's worth. The descent promises riding pleasure at its very best, with rewarding views. The trail which is barely 4 km in length is not quite so long as to overtax trail fledglings, while those who have better control over their bike, can – thanks to the bike transport available at the lifts – relax and hammer down several times a day.

Beginners can make their first attempts here and those who master their bikes can speed through the slightly elevated curves. This short trail can also be perfectly combined with the newly built Alp Trida Enduro Trail (see tour no. 22), which leads from the Flimjoch ridge down to the AlpTrida.

Galt端r - experience high Alpine mountain sport! Galt端r is a little bit quieter. A little bit more mysterious. Maybe it is due to its special altitude location. Maybe it's the exceptional mountain backdrop. Maybe it's also a confession of wanting to stay small. Whatever it is, Galt端r and Ischgl offer leisure riders such as tour and Enduro pros an appealing, diverse Alpine terrain, with a wide selection of wonderful routes, which can in part be combined to make Big Mountain or multiday tours.

What hits you straight off in this health resort is its exceptionally beautiful setting. Right at the top in Paznaun, at an altitude of over 1,600 metres, the Silvretta is at its most beautiful. These giant mountains with their glaciers are almost within touching distance in Galtür, without being threatening. Quite the opposite - the broad plains with their tranquil lateral valleys invite you to take a deep breath. Mountain bike tours around Galtür are harmoniously embedded in the fantastic high Alpine natural landscape. Classic tours on the Jamtal or the Silvretta 3-lakes tour are really well worth trying. High Alpine landscape – enjoyment on the mountain. The routes are available as a download at galtuer.com, in PDF and GPX format, with all the relevant information and to look at as an interactive plan. It couldn't be any easier, more practical and faster to organise your mountain bike holiday in the region of Paznaun. PLEASE NOTE: Use of GPS data is at your own risk! In narrow valleys and forests in particular the requisite line of sight to the satellites is not always available, which means that inaccuracies may occur. That is why you should not blindly follow your GPS device's direction displays! In Alpine terrain in particular directly reaching a destination is seldom
possible. You should also be in a position to find your way around at any time, even without a GPS device. The three large reservoirs 'Kops', 'Vermunt' and 'Silvretta', which were positioned at the border between Tyrol and Vorarlberg to provide an extensive power supply, are the destinations in the 'Silvretta 3 lakes' tour. At almost 38 kilometres and at just over 1,200 metres altitude, a good level of fitness, yet less riding technique, is required here, since the route proceeds mostly on gravel and asphalt. The tour can be made fundamentally easier if after the descent, you cycle from Kops reservoir to Montafon, continuing to Partenen, with the Vermunt cable car providing some assistance. This doesn't just save some 500 metres altitude, it also has the charm of going from the mountain station for almost two kilometres through a naturally lit subterranean cave to the Silvretta high Alpine road. This then proceeds past Vermunt reservoir, heading for Silvretta reservoir to Bielerh旦he. You then head slightly uphill again on a gravel path next to the road to Galt端r.

With Alpengasthof Zeinisjoch, Heilbronner and Friedrichshafener lodge, there are three lovely Alpine lodges for you to stop off and enjoy some refreshments en route. Cruising past Alpinarium Galt端r, the route is initially leisurely, then becomes steeper on the valley path to Zeinisjoch. Continue on asphalt first, then on a gravel path past the Verbella Alpe up to the Heilbronner lodge. From the Heilbronner lodge a demanding trail uphill, then a downhill leads you into the picturesque, peaceful Ochsental, which has a superb view into this stony realm. From Kappl the route starts on asphalt and later continues on gravel to the Dias alp, which is sitting at some 1,900 metres, high above Kappl, which is where you can find some relaxation and strenghtening food. Those who like, then dash in the partly root-covered forest and meadow trail to Ulmich, which is moderately challenging with regard to the technique required. Alternatively, take the gravel road down into the valley again.

See in Paznaun
The scattered settlement of "See" is situated on the right-hand side of the valley of the lower Paznaun region. It consists of a large number of groups of farms and hamlets, and the main town of See-Au. The valley floor was once covered by a lake, hence the town's name. The town of "Ze dem See in Pacznawn" (= at the lake in Paznaun) was first mentioned as being a district in documents dating from 1433. See provides tour riders, in con-junction with 106

easier, more practical and faster to organise your mountain bike holiday in the region of Paznaun.
