I got my. Nickname at a young age when my family saw my passion for cooking and began calling me “Little Chef ”. Although my family called me “ Little Chef ” I always looked at myself as an Artist. I began cooking in the kitchen with my mom learning how to peel potatoes, cut vegetables, and how to grill! I began catering as a young teenager doing party platters and honing my skills. Catering is and always will be my first love because it allows me the ability to explore the many cuisines I have come to love! I began my Culinary Education at the St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. I then continued my education at The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago and then completing my educational journey at Johnson and Wales University In Rhode Island. Throughout my educational journey I built my skills working in Chicago, Virginia, Rhode Island, Cape Cod, DC, and New York. After 15yrs a family tragedy brought me back home. From there I began to move forward with my entrepreneurial vision and recently Keiths Burger Joint was born! My ultimate vision is to have Keiths’ Burger Joint food trucks, brick and mortars and in households 4

Across the country.

Another beautiful day in the big peach city of Atlanta Georgia, and the sun sets on D’shacourt’s “An Evening of Elegance”. It’s was Fashion extravaganza, held at City Hall in Bustling Downtown Atlanta Georgia. I’m Ego Maserati for Iconique Magazine The runway was on fire with collection after collection from some of Atlantas most noted independent designers, all for a cause. A fashion Show with a twist, Fashion Designer and show producer, Sharon Gary Dill-Hackney, organized this event with a purpose, a purpose to shine the light on the forgotten. Charged to show society and to “enable whom many have deemed disabled”. A true humanitarian, you can feel her passion from wall to wall. Each detail was intentional. From the entertainment of the live band and performances, to the flirty fun decor, but the models truly brought the show; their confidence is what transformed and melted the cold marble interiors of city hall and warmed the hearts of everyone in attendance. Attendees were greeted at the door with a smile, by Sharon’s team and staff and ushered to to the red carpet. Multiple photographers and media outlets, captured the guest through video and photography as they moved down the carpet. It was an incredible experience, tonight everyone’s a celebrity and everyone is celebrated. Upon exiting the red carpet experience, guest have a host of varied vendors to shop with. Whether you are looking for unique fashion designs and jewelry or a sweet experience from local honey farm, so many choices of takeaways from this experience. I made my way around the venue and had the opportunity to interview many of the vendors, they traveled near and far to be in the number tonight. PC: VON DONALD

THE CRISPY CHICKEN BISCUITS Next time you are in Atlanta it is a “Must” that you visit The Atlanta Breakfast Club Downtown Atanta. I had a wonderful experience visiting this establishment. The wait staff was very cordial and made me feel like family. This is one thing that I usually expect when I visit a southern restaurant. However, This one was right on the mark. I asked my waitress if there was something on the menu that was visually pleasing and very tasteful and full of unique flavors and she said yes and suggested that I try the Chicken Biscuits and I said Yes as well. Once the dish was delivered to my table I was amazed at the presentation as well as the proportion size. Which again was right on the money. I carefully examine this beautiful creation and I’m thinking of how wonderfully creative the chefs are with this dish. Remember with all food reviews that I do, It has to not only taste good it has to look stunning, one of a kind. After my visual inspection I take in the aroma’s. I want to know that if I close my eyes, will this dish have enough aroma to make me open my eyes out of curiosity, wondering what this fantastic smelling dish is and yes it did. I am so happy to have this plate full of eye catching, visually appealing creation of Chicken Breast, Biscuits, Gravy and Egg in my presence. This is the moment of truth where I life my fork and began to figure out a way to attack this bundle of joy. So I rotate right and left back and forth until I see that the best way is to slice right into the egg and let the warm yoke run adding to the experience of eating this dish. So I take my first bit and It was like heaven in my mouth, an explosion of flavors that made my taste-buds immediately tell my brain “More”. At that moment it was none stop. I could not stop eating this until it was all gone. I did not get an opportunity to breakdown every flavor properly. This why i call this an experience that you must try. So again when you are in Atlanta it is a must you visit Atlanta Breakfast Club.

Hello, my name is Naysa Marrero Santiago, Miss Puerto Rico U.S. Latina 2019, and this is my journey to the crown! I was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in a small town called Santa Olaya where the rainforest surrounds my home, filled with beautiful animals like the Coqui Frog singing me to sleep and waterfalls to jump in. I’m a Jibara (country girl) who grows crops, raises chickens and goes to Pozo (water well) to get water when we don’t have any. During my childhood, I attended school in Puerto Rico which has a failing educational system. My mother Emma Santiago-Ruiz, wanting better for my future, took a job transfer to Indiana. As much I didn’t want to leave my family and friends, I knew it was necessary for my progression. Relocating to Indiana was a complete culture shock for me. I often encountered racism and bullying because I didn’t know much English and couldn’t communicate. I became sad, insecure and shy. It was then when I decided to get involved in school activities like Chorus, Basketball, Volleyball, and Cheerleading to overcome my fears. Just as I was starting to feel more confident, my mother’s job transfers her to West Palm Beach, Florida. As soon as I stepped into my new high school, I knew this is where I wanted to be for it was much more diverse! I could speak my language! I continued to play sports becoming the captain and shooting guard of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team as well as played Varsity Volleyball. I also participated in Miss Primavera, my first beauty pageant, winning 2nd Runner-Up! I was super shocked and excited for no one believed I would’ve gotten that far in the competition! I had 3 younger brothers by the time my mother received another job transfer. I didn’t go with her. I asked my grandmother Irene Nieves Herta and grandfather Anibal Santiago Viñas to take care of me until I graduated for I needed to stay in Florida. My junior and senior year were stressful due to lack of educational support. Nevertheless, I relied on inner strength to push through to finally graduating from high school! My family and I were happy that I completed such a great achievement! After graduation, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky where I’m currently attending college. My future career pursuit is to attend Medical School, becoming a Doctor and the first to graduate college in my family. When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, my heart broke seeing my family back home struggle without food, light or shelter. Never forgetting my dream of becoming a model, I decided this would be the perfect time for me to be a voice for my beautiful Isla Del Encanto. I started doing local fashion shows noticing in most I was the only Latina representing which gave me the motivation to compete for the title of this year’s Miss Puerto Rico U.S. Latina. The wait for the results was long, filled with both anxiety and anticipation for everyone was eager to know who was selected to be this year’s queen. Finally, the results come in. I’m chosen to be Miss Puerto Rican U.S. Latina 2019! So many emotions came over me for everything I’ve desired to do so far I have achieved! I want to inspire so many people, show them that, even if the road is full of obstacles, you have to keep pushing for there is a lot to learn on your journey to success! Naysa Marrero Santiago

The guest were dressed and ready, I couldn’t resist getting them on camera, there was a point I couldn’t tell the models from the attendees, everyone looked stunning. I was able to snag a few models for interviews, their stories and excitement really intensified my anticipation for the show to begin. Curtains open, it’s showtime! Show Host took to the stage and set the time with her beautiful British accent, are we still in Atlanta? felt truest elegant. Then the fashions began. Design after design, the models, be it by foot or in wheelchair, they were unstoppable. This was their shot to show the world “don’t count me out”, every twirl and pose made the crowd smile that much harder and root even louder. Crowd was overjoyed at points, I thought I was at a sporting event, the crowd roared so loudly. This is what it feels like when love takes over a space. The physical show lasted a few hours, but for these models this night will stay in their hearts for a life time. Can’t wait to see what Sharon has up her sequined sleeves for next year, but I’m sure it will be filled with love, I’m sure it will be great. I know it will be ICONIQUE!

5 WAYS TO STAY HEALTHY WHEN ON THE ROAD

(BPT) - Whether you’re traveling for business or for pleasure, if you spend your career on the road or even just take an occasional road trip, it may seem tough to maintain a healthy lifestyle while you’re on the go. The sedentary hours spent behind the wheel, combined with the seemingly limited healthy food options along the highway, can take a toll — especially on your heart. 1. Take breaks. Too much time behind the wheel can make you stiff and sore, causing stress and fatigue. Make sure to know your own limits, both in terms of physical endurance and mental focus and attention. Breathe deeply, in and out, several times during your breaks — this gets more oxygen to your brain when you need it, helping you to stay alert and awake. 2. Get some exercise. During your breaks, park further from the rest stop to add extra steps, or take a brisk walk around the area to get your blood flowing. Stretch your arms and legs, bend your knees, gently roll your neck and move all parts of your body to work out the kinks. If you are fit enough, try this challenge: 20 air squats, 10 push-ups, 10 lunges. 3. Rest. Get at least seven hours of sleep a night while you’re traveling, both for your own health and for safety. Tim McGee, Lead Driver for Pilot Flying J tanker fleet out of Knoxville, recommends that if you’re feeling fatigued, “Find a safe place to park and rest, nap no longer than 20-30 minutes, walk around.” When you wake up from a nap, move around, get some fresh air and drink plenty of water to be sure you’re fully awake and refreshed before hitting the road again. 4. Eat real meals. Stop for complete, well-rounded meals when you can, to help resist the urge to snack on less healthful choices. No matter which meal you’re stopping for, include protein choices like roasted chicken, yogurt or hard-boiled eggs, vegetables like salads, steamed broccoli or green beans, and fresh fruit such as grapes or bananas. All of these choices are available at Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers in North America. The PJ Fresh Marketplace, available at many locations nationwide, offers a fast-casual restaurant where you can sit and eat a fresh, healthy meal or get a combo meal to go. As one of the largest franchisees of Subway, Pilot Flying J also offers great sandwich choices. Choose options with lean meats like turkey or chicken, pile on the veggies and go easy on the dressing for the healthiest approach. 5. Snack smart. When you need a quick pick-me-up between meals, you can find plenty of healthy fruits, veggies, nuts, yogurt and protein bars on the road. According to the ATA, the banana has become one of the most popular picks for on-the-go snacking — it comes in its own package, and it’s full of nutrients. ATA America’s Road Team Captain Rhonda Hartman says, “Snack on fruits and vegetables instead of high-calorie and high-salt snacks. It will keep your blood sugar levels even, so you don’t get the energy spikes and drops.” Stay hydrated with water, limiting your intake of sugary sodas and not overdoing the caffeinated beverages, which can make you feel jittery and keep you from resting well at night. These tips will not only make you healthier when you get to your destination, but keep the journey safe and more enjoyable as well. With a little planning ahead, and choosing the best options for where to rest and eat, your trips will fly by. For those interested in going the extra mile, check out the Life is Why We Give(TM) campaign, where supporters like Pilot Flying J raise funds to support the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

China takes aim at hip-hop, saying low-taste content must stop China’s censors have a new target in a widespread clamp-down on popular culture: the country’s nascent hip-hop scene, which resonated with Chinese youth last year on hugely popular television show “Rap of China.” Hip hop artists Wang Hao, known as “PG One” and Zhou Yan, known as “GAI” - the two winners of the show - have been sanctioned in recent weeks for bad behavior or content at odds with Communist Party values. GAI was pulled from hit show “The Singer” last week. The crackdown on hip-hop, still very much a new genre in China, reflects a broader squeeze on popular culture as the country’s stability-focused leadership looks to rein in potential platforms for youthful dissent. Beijing is eager to use popular culture to shape public opinion, including co-opting rap artists ahead of its five-yearly congress last year. With state support comes the insistence that Party values must take center stage in the artists’ work. The latest cleanup started when PG One was forced to apologize for lewd lyrics, which critics said were insulting to women and encouraged the use of recreational drugs. The official Xinhua news agency wrote that PG One “does not deserve the stage,” and that “we should say ‘no’ to whoever provides a platform for low-taste content.” Other official media and companies quickly followed suit; the rapper’s tracks were soon pulled from most online sites. GAI, who had been in third place on The Singer, broadcast by Hunan TV, was cut from the program last week with no reason given. Rapper Vava was hastily edited out of the same station’s flagship variety show “Happy Camp” because of her association with hip-hop culture. “Hip-hop’s prospects in China seem dim after Chinese rappers removed from TV shows,” read one headline from influential state-run tabloid Global Times on Sunday. The same paper this month said hip-hop - which it called a “tool for people to vent their anger, misery, complaints” - did not suit China and “cannot thrive” here. The campaign underscores a broader clean-up of cultural content from video games, online streaming and even performance art amid a drive to make cultural products adhere to mainstream socialist core values. Chinese rap singer Zhou Yan, better known by his stage name GAI, performs during a New Year concert in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China December 31, 2017. Picture taken December 31, 2017. REUTERS/Stringer PG One, Vava and Hunan TV could not immediately be reached for comment. GAI, who had tried to make his act more Party-friendly - including an impromptu performance in which he sang the words “long live the motherland” - did not respond to requests for comment. Chinese news portal Sina reported on Friday that China’s broadcasting watchdog had said immoral and vulgar content should be kept off the air, including hip-hop - and even tattoos. The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television did not respond to a telephone request for comment from Reuters on Monday. This is not the first time Chinese musicians have run afoul of local censors. In 2015, China’s culture ministry banned 120 songs - mostly rap - for “promoting obscenity, violence, crime or threatening public morality.” Dior channels 1950s rebels, British subculture in Paris show In July last year, Beijing’s Municipal Bureau of Culture said it was “not appropriate” for Justin Bieber to tour in China because previous performances there had created “public dissatisfaction.”

A month later, organizers aiming to bring Grammy Award-winning artists to China said they would only “promote artists with a positive and healthy image.”

Li Yijie, a patriotic rapper with government-backed band Tianfu Shibian, said that regulators weren’t blacklisting the genre as a whole, but that recent scandals meant “some institutions, firms, TV stations and the public had lost confidence in hip-hop.” “Maybe local television stations think it is too sensitive to run37 hip-hop shows now,” he added.
