my difficulties with living in a body (and therefore with living, period) often come back to the fact that no matter how tightly i control my body, i am viewed as either object of disgust or object of desire (occasionally both simultaneously). i can never be neutral. i can never be subject. we don’t need to change the rules of the game. we need to stop playing. “why is it that you feel pressure to claim any identity?”. why is it that you think it is empowering to refer to oneself as an idiot or gremlin when you could renounce a society that refuses you the right to be simply human, not divided into sectors of “ugly” and “beautiful”, “intelligent” or “idiotic”, etc.?

During my time at Bilka I learned how to operate the cash register and the associated computer system, how to help the customers in an easy-going, respectful and trusting manor, as well as performing easier cleaning-tasks. A huge part of the job was being part of a team and to make sure everybody knew what their tasks were and consisted of, and helping your coworkers throughout the day. Being able to communicate and have fun whilst working is very essential to me.
