This year’s Kuna Days grand marshal is from a small town in Wyoming, a mountain lover, a huckleberry picker and, as a

Idaho State University pharmacy students with training at the local store. “Both of us coming from a small town, it seems like the right thing to do,” Walthall said. “So we try to support the community as much as possible.” Walthall and his wife moved to Kuna 17 years ago from Connecticut, when she got a forensics job. Walthall said Kuna feels like home because it is a small town close to the mountains. In 2003, Vic Allen hired Walthall to be Custom RX’s pharmacy manager.

Travis Walthall, who owns Custom RX with his wife Tina, enjoys helping customers fill prescriptions during the week. Nine years later, in 2012, Walthall bought the pharmacy, and still runs it. Last year, it was recognized at the chamber’s Business of the Year. The pharmacy will have a float in the Saturday, Aug. 5 parade. Walthall and his family will be waving and tossing candy. A niece is working on costumes, which will fit

in with the Kandy Land theme. Walthall hinted she was designing villain costumes, but of who will be a surprise at the parade. Walthall said he wants to thank the community for its support of Custom RX pharmacy, and that he and his wife appreciate everyone. About being grand marshal, Walthall said he is honored.

“It seems just overwhelming,” Walthall said. “It seems like the grand marshals have always been somebody that have been super active community people who you see around town all the time doing great things so I’m just extremely honored that someone would throw my name out there.”
