Sledding evening Every Monday and Thursday

Ischgl guarantees nighttime fun on the 7-km long sledding run that winds from Idalpe to Ischgl. With its seven kilometres and 950-metre difference in altitude, Ischgl’s night sledding run is one of the longest in the world. A trip to the top of the track can be made with the Silvretta Seilbahn cable car from 7 pm - 8.30 pm. The run is lit until midnight in order to offer some extended sledding fun. Should you care to sample the delights of a ski hut with atmospheric music and Tyrolean specialities, the Idalpe Mountain Restaurant is at your disposal. From the middle of December until around the start of April, the night sledding run is open every Monday and Thursday (weather permitting). You can get a sled from Silvretta Sports at the top station of the Silvretta Seilbahn cable car. Be aware: the rental fee must be paid immediately with a transport card! Note: The sledding ticket permits only one journey with the Silvretta Seilbahn cable car. The sledding run is closed during the day. Prices:

See below for dates See some spectacular stunts with the Snow Sport Academy Ischgl’s night show at Prennerhang. Some stunning ski and snowboard leaps are planned along with many more thrilling tricks. Seeing little skiers from the Ischgl Ski Club venture down the steep Prennerhang never fails to warm the hearts of ski fans. There are some outrageous tricks such as a spectacular jump through a ring of fire. A DJ provides beats to match each performance and keep the fans enthralled. It is an event not to be missed at any cost. Location:

The Silvrettaseilban AG cable car museum provides facts and figures on the ascent from Ischgl to one of the most popular ski areas in Austria. The museum displays a number of objects and instruments from the golden days of tourism, such as a gondola lift from the 60s, old skis, boots, life-saving and mountain equipment, and much more. This winter there is a special exhibition to mark 50 years of the Silvrettaseilbahn AG, which is on show at the Pardorama Restaurant Pardorama in the Pardatschgrat.

Skiing at night – are there any winter sport lovers who don’t dream of that? If you find the day on the slopes in Galtür a little too short for your liking, then you can take advantage of a very special opportunity – night skiing in front of the formidable backdrop of several 3000-metre plus mountains in the Silvretta Alps. Every Wednesday from 7.30 pm until 10.30 pm, the slopes open for business at night in the Galtür ski area. The piste is as light as in the daytime but nonetheless naturally has quite a different feeling under the starlight. Night Ski Show - Ski & Snowboard School

See listings The Night Ski Show, hosted by the ski teachers at the Silvretta Galtür ski school, is a vivid showcase of the wide spectrum of winter sport. The show provides a diverse spectacle of everything that might delight winter sports enthusiasts, from old wooden sleds to stilt skis. The demo team put on a synchronised ski show along with a flag parade, with some spectacular jumps over a kicker and a few more treats. We won’t reveal any more but needless to say it is best to see it with your own eyes.

Take a ‘Pistenbully’ snowplough to the Kops reservoir, the starting point of a varied descent down into Montafon and Partenen. Then take the Vermuntbahn cable car up to 1,739 m and take a minibus through a section of tunnels on the Bielerhöhe pass. With an average physical shape and a confident ability in stem or parallel turns, the Silvretta ski safari is easily manageable. The Alpinarium Galtür is an exhibition space of some very special art – and a central part of a 345-metre long and 19-metre high avalanche protection wall. The new permanent exhibition “RIGHT AT THE TOP – stories about Galtür and the world” informs visitors about the relationship between the resort of Galtür and the rest of the world. It traces the steps of history through millenniums to highlight well-travelled Galtür people and influential visitors, discoveries and coveted places to see.

‘Fassdauben’ race Every Tuesday

A ‘Fassdauben’ race sees long pieces of wood used as an alternative to skis. The wooden pieces are fastened to shoes with leather or plastic straps. Only normal shoes are allowed rather than ski shoes. The wacky event takes place every Thursday at 20:30 at Gampele, next to the sport and culture centre.

A visit to the sledding run should be on the schedule of every holidaymaker in Kappl. Take a hike up the mountain or allow the cable car to do the work for you and your rented sled. A six-kilometre long run provides some thrilling bends and plenty of quick stretches. Take your family on a run, as the soft snow at the side of the track provides some comfort if things go wrong. All in all, it is a perfect off-piste winter experience for the whole family. If you don’t get your fill of sledding during the day, there is also the night sledding on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Long before the ski lifts get going in neighbouring resorts, skiers can start making their mark in the white stuff in the sunniest ski area in Paznaun. Every Monday the Diasbahn, Alblittbahn and Alblittkopfbahn cable cars start operating as early as 8 am. To mark the chance to make the first marks in the snow, a rustic Farmers’ Breakfast is offered on a Wednesday by the Sunny Mountain Restaurant.

Sledding during a winter holiday at the See ski area is a classic winter activity. A six-kilometre long toboggan run offers loads of fun for visitors big and small. Sledders can chose between a wintery hike up to the start or a rapid and convenient ascent with the cable car. Feel the wind in you hair as you adjust your speed and try to conquer turns without flying off the track and landing in the soft snow. The See ski area offers families one of the most beautiful natural sledding runs in Tyrol. A spot of sledding should definitely be on the schedule for family holidays in particular, and for good reason. A six-kilometre long toboggan run offers loads of fun for visitors big and small, as well as providing some of the most stunning scenery in Tyrol. There are plenty of bends to test sledders too.

Once a week sledding is made possible at night on the floodlit run. Visitors to See can make a real evening of it with the must-see hut evening at the mountain restaurant. They can decide themselves if they want to sled or also want to watch the ‘Fire on Ice Show’ of the See ski school during the Tuesday night skiing session. Whatever the decision, a diverse set of entertainment is guaranteed. Families can experience one of the most picturesque natural sledding runs in Tyrol in the See ski area with fun for children and adults assured. To see the area lit up in the evening time with its special atmosphere is a truly magic experience. The cable car runs from 7.30 pm. The floodlit sledding run can be accessed directly from the middle station.

Lots of fun can be had with nighttime skiing in See in Tyrol. A piste is floodlit every Tuesday in the winter season for night skiing. Cable cars are on hand to take visitors to the middle station from 7.30 pm. At 8 pm the ski run is lit and you have until 10.30 pm to make your tracks in the snow under the starlight. The ‘Fire on Ice Show’ sees the See ski school and See Freestyle Club host a 30-minute firework display every Tuesday by the middle station (top station of the cable car).
